So, the argument goes that boycotting major consumer-focused entities may inadvertently harm one's own people financially, and instead, one should support businesses that support countries involved in conflicts with other parts of the Ummah through actions like genocide?

@Life_Is_A_Test all scholars of hadith said that the hadith about the black flag weak/fabricated. Here for proof :
At-Tabaraani (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
No one narrated this hadith from az-Zuhri except Yoonus, and only Rishdeen narrated it from him. End quote.
Al-Bayhaqi (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
It was narrated only by Rishdeen ibn Sa‘d from Yoonus ibn Yazeed. End quote.
This Rishdeen is the reason why this hadith is regarded as da‘eef (weak) and munkar (odd). He was classed as da‘eef by Ahmad ibn Hanbal, and Yahya ibn Ma‘een said concerning him: His hadith is not to be written down. Abu Zar‘ah said: His hadith is da‘eef. Abu Haatim said: His hadith is munkar (odd), he is negligent, he narrated odd reports from trustworthy narrators, and his hadith is da‘eef. An-Nasaa’i said: His hadith is to be rejected. Abu Dawood said: His hadith is da‘eef. Ibn Hibbaan said: His reports are mostly odd.
      See: Tahdheeb at-Tahdheeb (3/278)
To sum up: the hadith is da‘eef jiddan (very weak) and is not saheeh, because Rishdeen ibn Sa‘d was the only one who narrated it; hence the scholars did not accept it.
At-Tirmidhi said: It is ghareeb. End quote. This means that he regarded the hadith as da‘eef.
      Al-Bayhaqi said:
A similarly-worded report was narrated from Ka‘b al-Ahbaar. End quote.
In fact, when al-Haafiz Ibn Katheer narrated a number of hadiths that mentioned the black banners, he said: All of this leads one to doubt the soundness of these hadiths, as none of their isnaads is free of problems.
      End quote from al-Bidaayah wa’n-Nihaayah (6/248).
The hadith was classed as da‘eef by al-Haafiz Ibn Hajar in al-Qawl al-Musaddad (42); Shaykh al-Albaani in as-Silsilah ad-Da‘eefah (no. 4825); Shaykh Ahmad Shaakir in his commentary on Musnad Ahmad (16/316). The commentators on Musnad Ahmad (Mu’sasat ar-Risaalah edn.) said:
Its isnaad is da‘eef jiddan (very weak). End quote.
      In fact they also said:
There is no saheeh report about this matter; there are only da‘eef (weak) and mawqoof (i.e., the isnaad does not go back to the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)) reports. End quote.
Similarly, Shaykh Dr Haatim ash-Shareef said:
There is no saheeh, marfoo‘ hadith about the black banners, and there is no hadith that has an isnaad going back to the Sahaabah (may Allah be pleased with them).

Brother as a Muslim and as a UAE citizen I respectfully disagree with you on the effectiveness of boycotting. I am sure we all agree that everyone and every Muslim has a duty when it comes to taking a stand against injustice no matter what that stand is and how small it’s. One of my stands is using boycotting. Taking your example of McDonald’s even if they only pay royalties and the rest goes thru the local economy channels, if they and every other company like them in every Muslim country decide to announce their stand against the gynocide against civilians in Palestine they will have a big impact if not financially then strategically because they are the point of entrance for these companies to Muslim countries economies, and these companies don’t want their shares to drop and want to maintain a good image in the market because that what makes them profitable, so even if it’s a small dent today but it will be a risk any sound business practice will know that they have to mitigate against. No one expect these branches to close their businesses In Muslim countries but the expectation is that they make a clear and firm stand on this matter as a company operating in a Muslim country and profiting from a Muslim population and managed or semi owned by Muslims. So when individuals start boycotting them locally they will be under pressure to make a move and in this sense boycotting them can be an effective method and can eventually have a ripple effect that will require their head quarters to respond

Just because a chunk of people won't by from McDonald's doesn't mean people will stop buying. It simply puts them under more pressure. They should have also thought of this that they are supporting genocide so there will be an opposite force applied to them! So I personally disagree and believe we should continue with what we are doing. The people are with Palestine!

Even if it's a franchise, if you want to support your country's economy, then surely it'd be better to support a company or a local business which does not have ties to Israel and will benefit your country more anyway?
If your Muslim ruler orders you to support companies which are supporting Israel, then if it is haraam to give money to those support Israel, then surely you absolutely should not obey your ruler in this case Shaykh, please can you clarify?

Israeli officials came out around 2021 saying "keep protesting! It helps us", why? Because the protestors do nothing for Falastin, infact they hijack the cause and turn it into a party.
So we need to fix ourselves, as long as we are weak, we can't do anything. As long as we let down Allah and do not practice his deen, how can we expect victory?
The reason this daiee and scholars don't talk about this munkarat in public is because its in the sunnah to confront the leader. And we cannot know if they do so or not, because the whole point is that it is private.

The Muslims of today are not worthy of righteous rulers and we have adopted all kinds of garbage in our societies, we only have ourselves to blame.
We have traitors for leaders because we are traitors. Hear and obey, be patient upon the punishment of having such hukam until you fix yourself.
In other words, the approach of sunni scholars today is that we are a weak ummah, we caused this to ourselves, and we can only fix it 1 person at a time.
Palestine is an Islamic issue, its not for those communist homosexuals and liberals to hijack. Al Aqsa is ours, and we ask Allah to see Al Mahdi free it in our lifetime. No UN, no kuffar, no corrupt rulers, not a single human will free it unless Allah wants to.

    0:00 - 1:14: Opening Statement
While I acknowledge that your intentions may not be to support the enemy or harm your fellow Muslims in Gaza, it's crucial to recognize that statements contradicting the prevailing consensus often receive negative reactions. Before criticizing those who question your motives or engage in slander, it's essential to consider the impact of your words on the audience.
Regarding your disclaimer, I genuinely believe that you don't endorse supporting the enemy or wishing harm upon your Muslim brethren. However, it appears that your upbringing and education may have conditioned you to be a compliant follower of Muslim leaders, prioritizing their interests and avoiding actions that might harm them. Your rhetoric, along with others like you, seems to place a significant emphasis on maintaining civil peace and not challenging the government. While I support the idea of civil peace, it's evident that this is your primary focus, which raises concerns among laypeople.
    1:15 - 4:10: Views on Protests
I respectfully disagree with your perspective on protests. While they may not yield significant benefits in your country, they play a crucial role in the West. Protests raise awareness and exert pressure on democratic governments to review and adjust their foreign policies.
As for the presence of haram elements in protests, I understand your concerns, but I view it as a strawman argument. Haram exists in various aspects of Western life, yet scholars do not declare living there as haram. If there are haram elements in protests, the solution is to avoid them. Your Islamic group can strategize ways to minimize exposure to haram. Refraining from attending protests solely to avoid exposure to haram things, akin to avoiding Dubai Mall because it has women around and might pose a challenge to keeping one's gaze down. Seems like a weak excuse in my view.
    4:11 - 6:57: The Power of Boycotting
If you doubt the effectiveness of boycotting in supporting our Palestinian brothers, it's essential to understand how Western governments operate. Democratic governments are heavily influenced by corporations. Boycotting these corporations can prompt changes in their political stances, thereby influencing Western governments. In your locality, corporations like McDonald's are attempting to globalize and shift their operations to the Global South. If these influential corporations experience a drop in revenue due to boycotts, they might reassess their stance on the conflict and even speak out against the atrocities committed.
Concerning franchise owners and employees, please include them in your prayers just as you do for the Palestinians.
    6:58 - 8:04: Gaslighting and Concluding Remarks
Why is it acceptable to criticize Muslims involved in protests and boycotting for their perceived haram actions, which you argue cause more harm than benefit, while discouraging criticism of yourself as a sellout? I believe it's important for you to remain open to criticism, just as you openly critique others.
Engaging in dua (prayer) and charity is commendable, but it should not be the sole solution. The Prophet Muhammad PBUH didn't merely make dua against the disbelievers and wait for divine intervention. He took action alongside making dua.
At 7:56, you acknowledge being a layman. Given this, it's worth questioning why you've created an 8-minute video offering advice to the Muslim ummah, which seems contradictory.

And the solution in general is to turn back to Allah the almighty in general. We have strayed from the truth and look how the ummah has ended up. Allah gave us the formula for victory clearly in the Qur'an and the prophet ﷺ conveyed it clearly in the sunnah.

You said that 'no Aalim has permitted protesting' and challenged me to bring one Aalim, here it is... can you explain this please Shaykh?
Translation: Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen said: They mentioned to me that in some Western Christian countries the rights cannot be obtained except through demonstrations, and if Christians and Westerners wanted to extinguish the dispute, they would demonstrate. If it is used and this is a country of disbelievers and they do not see any harm in it and the Muslim does not achieve his rights or the Muslims achieve their rights except through this, then I hope that there is no harm in it.

Sheikh uthaymeen (rahimahullah) clearly mentions “if there is no harm in it”. I have been to protests before, and I could see music, mixing and so many harms. If you look at the news of these protests, you could also see it in the protests these days.
Sheikh Faris didn’t go to the minute details as this is a very short video I suppose.
There is a detailed video by ustadh Abdul Rahman on this where he discusses different views, and if it’s allowed in Muslim lands or non Muslim countries. Pls have a look.

      @user-ze9tj9yj4t 10 месяцев назад

Yes, but the point is that the Shaykh here is not providing the details with regards to this ruling, and he also said statements which imply there is a consensus between all major scholars on this issue@@uz8336
I don't like the kind of protests you mentioned either, but there are other kinds of protests, such as strategic protests whereby you put printed papers on the windows of companies which outwardly support the enemy. By staying blanket statements like 'protesting is haram according to all authentic scholars' you are surely not appreciating the delicacy of Islamic knowledge which requires detail and consideration right?
Allah knows best, and jzaakumAllahu khairan akhi

Ali reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “There is no obedience to anyone if it is disobedience to Allah. Verily, obedience is only in good conduct.”
    Source: Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 7257, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 1840
Can you seriously say that it’s haram to boycott when the companions did this?
The chief of the people of Yamamah, Thumamah bin Uthal accepted Islam, he imposed a boycott on the disbelievers and said:
    وَاللَّهِ لاَ يَأْتِيكُمْ مِنَ الْيَمَامَةِ حَبَّةُ حِنْطَةٍ حَتَّى يَأْذَنَ فِيهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم.
“By Allah, you will not get a single grain of wheat from Yamamah until it is permitted by the Messenger of Allah!” [Sahih Muslim 1764]

Preserve such advices to the proponents of the abrahamic accord.... even when inventing a new religion, your rulers remain muslims according to you... but when powerless muslim civilians take to the streets to show their support and solidarity is when you wake up and cry :anti-islamic , against sunnah, did the prophet do it?!...
Impact or lack of it, has never been the criteria for right or wrong... but instead the prophet tought us to do what we can even if it is negligible...
Resist evil with action, if you can not with words, if you can not with your heart(l.e hate it).. is what he taught us....
Seems what makes you happy is that muslim populations do not protest coz it is useless... do not talk cause it is impact-less and the muslim nation enters a deafening silence as other muslims are massacred as there is no hope that your 'muslim leaders' will offer military help...
Sleep man seems you have got nothing beneficial to tell the bleeding ummah
