We had geranium rust on our downtown geraniums. I thought a lot of the issue was the Canadian fires. I’m in Ohio. Never had problems before with geraniums
Purchased deep hot pink geraniums which had beautiful first round of blooms. I deadheaded them, and a month later the second round of blooms, the flowers are pure McDonald's red 😮 The difference in color is *very* noticeable. Why did that happen? And is there anything I can add to the soil the change the flower color, like you can do with hydrangeas?
I’ve never had any of our geraniums change colors like that. Some varieties may change slightly as they age, but not that much. Fertilizing and water/soil pH can affect the color of some plants and some plants have different first blooms, but I’ve never seen that happen with geraniums. I’m afraid I don’t have an answer for you.
