  • In this video, I compare the $32 Yeti cup to a $9 dollar Walmart cup. The results were pretty suprising; the walmart cup held up just as well as the Yeti, if not better! This video was purely my opinion and I was not paid by EITHER of these companies! Hope you all enjoyed this video DON'T FORGET TO SUBSCRIBE!

I agree, they're almost equals, but I love the tinted lid, and I couldn't justify spending another 20some bucks on a reusable cup.
I use my Ozark for both coffee in the morning and cold Powerade or tea later in the day. I can be on the work site for a good while without worrying my drink will evaporate in the heat. :)

Because they are made of the same thing does not mean that they do the same thing. The design is very important. On the cup, or at least on many of the vacuum cups, the number of atmospheres is listed. Of course the more the vacuum the more the insulation value, less air to transfer heat between the layers of the cup. I loved the Aladdin cup I had. I purchased an Ozark Trail cup just for the tinted top and used it on the Aladdin, It was so great I callled it my woobie. lol. Now I have a Pogo and am trying that out since someone stole my Aladdin. So far so good.

For real tho I buy nearly all of my yeti type tumblers on the clearance aisle of Walmart. I have the Ozark, Bubba, & Contigo. I purchased 3 of the Bubba 64 ounce Guzzlers a couple weeks ago for $11 each. I live on a fixed income due to disability so I buy them year round to use for art projects for my kids & grandkids. I use temporary tattoos, spray paints, acrylic paints, alcohol paints, stickers, & resin to reimagine them. I’d be curious to know how much it costs Yeti to make them considering Walmart sells them for $9. Sometimes the name type label bs is just that... bs. Lol. I take meds around the clock so I use mine to keep ice water by my bed & the Walmart version works great for my limited personal, medical, & financial needs. Thanks for the video! It was interesting.

I think this is a bad test, most of the melting is going to be due to air flow through the top of the lid. In that sense, you're kind of nullifying vacuum sealed walls that make the Yeti cost much.
I better test would have been to fill them with ice water and see which one got one first.

I like that you can't see the logo on the Ozark. I don't work for the company. I shouldn't be advertising for them.
I looked into both and I ended up with the Ozark one because if I dent it or lose it, it's not a big deal. I use it just about every time I go fishing.
Also, for your sunlight test, there's an issue with that in terms of fairness. The Yeti one had a slight advantage in that it's in the shade of the Yeti. Next time place them so that neither has a shade. Not sure if it would have made any difference, as your result was pretty close anyway, but that's not very scientific. Also, on the video it kind of looks like you put the lid for the Ozark (tinted) on the Yeti and vise versa. See 7:24. Not sure if it's the angle or what.

I love my yeti if anyone cares. My whole family, which is 5 of us, together has 8 yeti tumblers and we absolutely love them. They work well for coffee, soda, ice water, or whatever!

You should do a follow up and keep the stock lids in place, outside in August heat for 8-10 hours (an average workday). I've got the Ozark and drink from it daily, averaging around 1.5-2 gallons every day I'm digging. I can't justify the cost for a $32 cup when it'll only hold 32 oz., especially when it gets emptied every time I use it. If I only filled it once a day and needed it to stay cold all day long, then maybe (perhaps when kayak fishing). Thanks for the time and effort, glad to see a Floridian has 128K subs, nice!

In the Research class, I took in college one of the research projects done by one of the students showed that they are completely the same in the time that they keep the drink cold. They are made of the same thing, therefore they do the same thing.
