@@BuluJenkins-gx2jiIt does. Not in all cases, but in particular scenarios especially at night, that extra layer of glass/plastic could degrade the quality of your photos or videos. It also depends on WHAT lens protector. some are bad, some are terrible, some are alright but still pointless because it still may degrade quality. Just get a case with a raised lip.

Micro scratches are a genuine concern especially if you're going to use your phone for a few years, which is true for most people. I haven't used a screen protector or lens protector for like a decade at this point, so I know your device is bound to get annoying micro scratches from just regular use going in and out of your pocket or bag. Screen and lens protectors just offer a better long term experience because you can always just remove them and the difference in quality is minimal and less then that of micro scratches

I believe tho that if the protector cracked, your camera lense would not crack. Why you ask? Phone camera lenses were designed to withstand whatever, and unlike the glass in front of our screens, camera lenses have a small surface area (it's also a circle so the impact is spread evenly, I suppose) so it's harder to shatter. If camera lenses broke easily, I'm sure we would've seen many complaints about it in the past leading up til now, and companies would have addressed it.

exactly! It's purposely misleading marketing from Apple where they say it is Sapphire so customers expect a 9H+ scratch resistance like high-end watches have, but the lenses still scratches at 6H just like glass.
Can't believe they are able to get away with that false marketing. I guess it's because Apple can technically say it is Sapphire since they do have small amounts of Sapphire crystals in the glass , but it isn't a pure crystal.

This year cameras on the back are loose and I though that a protection would be useful, since I was worried too for the quality drop I took some photos before and after applying them and no, there aren't any differences. My experience on using the lens protection so far are okay, Camera quality so far are okay, just a bit of shiny when contacting with lighting but not bothered at all since I’m not into taking photos and towards more to comfort, neat, protective and usable is enough for me. So the context is, either using the lens protective or not is part of how you use your phone. Someone in comment will say “Why not just use Case that cover the camera? Would be better and will avoid contacting the ground when putting your phone or what so ever”. I have experience when using those case which not a great experience since I scratch my lens with my older phone. Now I’m using lens protective and raised lip camera cover case. More protective more better, more avoidable accidents. Unless you drop your phone from 2nd/3rd floor.

Use your head, dude! Plus, my iPhone 11 camera lenses has a scratch right on one of the cameras, and it’s cracked on the glass part. So you can still get lens protection, but it just depends on the material and quality of the lens that WON’t damage the cameras. Do people even use their heads nowadays?
