i worked at the bounder/southwind/pace arrow plant for 17 years in riverside, ca. from 1983-2000. we previously made flairs, and class c motorhomes also. i helped build way over 100,000 motorhomes in my time there.the family atmosphere and friendships i developed there were the most rewarding part of my employment. most of the time there were over 500 employees. i was able to work in many different departments, including maintenance, windows and doors, paint dept, final finish interiors, lamination, floors, walls, final finish paint, cabinet shop, table saw operator, mill dept, fork lift, installing appliances and air conditioners, carpet laying, table laminating, and office and storage building . sometimes i worked from 6 or 7 until 2 AM. usually 6 day weeks. many many days until 7:30 or 9:30. we peaked at 15 units a day. i still hear in my head......move the line!!!!!
oh wow! so cool! Do you ever see one on the road and wonder if you built it? Sounds like you were an extremely hard worker....that's a long work day and 6 days too!
Liking the music in the paint booth. Boston, Let me take you home tonight! Love it! Class of 83 here! Shout out! Enjoyed the tour. put the full one out. We know it’s noisy, part of it. I wouldn’t mind doing that tour one day
Interesting tour. Thanks for sharing. I wished more manufacturers share the true wall assembly and the actual R value and type of insulation they use. Most use the cheap white foamboard like I see in this video, but there are several much better insulation foam in the same thickness. Every little would help on the heating and cooling of these RV's.
Excellent plant tour, I have been there many times and spent more time than you can imagine in the chassis section. It would be great if you could release the full tour so the rest of your viewers can see the full production. Thanks,
Thank you for making this great video! You condensed it for a great over view and focused on informative narrating. I particularly enjoyed seeing the details of some construction of the floors and walls. Didn't know they made channels to insert walls to the floor! If there's more details on that, I would love to see more video(s) covering that construction. In particular, I want to see this to understand the construction of the outer and inner walls, floor and ceiling so I will know what needs to be done when repairing my old rig (I can't afford a new one). Thank you again!
Hi Josh. So glad you enjoyed the video. I agree with you that it was interesting seeing how the walls were put together with the floor. I'll reach out to Mike Rove at Fleetwood and see if he has any videos that go into greater detail. He does most of the walkthroughs for the Fleetwood models.
Awesome video always wanted to know how my bounder was put together, and you guys made that possible, along with all those videos you guys made help me understand my unit . Thank you Regards Phong
Another fantastic video, thank you. I do feel bad for you having to suffer all that noise. I have been in factories that produce tin cans and they were quieter, With additional music noise I would go nuts. His problem with the mask was most distracting. Any points he was trying to make were diluted by the distraction. The most positive aspect of the video was the professionalism you all displayed. I wish you all a great New Year, hopefully I will see you on the road in 2022.
I’m not jealous about your repairs, but I am jealous that you got to see the factory. I hope you’ll release the full version. By the way, how’d your Bounder come out??
Hi @Matthew Siegel. We have received several requests for the full video. John and I will work on getting it published. The Bounder is still in Indiana. Hoping the repairs will be done soon. I really miss camping.
Great video. Thanks for sharing. I’d love to know your experience at the Rev factory repair Center? I have a 2021 holiday rambler Nautica that I’m going up in March for my one-year punchlist. Thanks Brad
Up until recently we've been happy with REV service...until last week. Watch tonights video. It will be eye opening. Also, we have a playlist from all our visits to REV RV Service Center here ruclips.net/p/PLDf5fW2W1zJILCP1GLqBZ2sV41jkRxQ-e Let me know if you have any other questions.
Thats crazy funny two or three a day back in 1987 we were pushing 100 units a week 6 days a week from 5:30 am till 8 pm I worked for pace arrow and bounder in Riverside California the two sister plants up on the hill one of the worst jobs I've ever had mass production and no family time no social time most worker dated through company time doing the nasty between line moving the crazy part through all that crap was when the immigration guys would do raids 90% of the plant would run leaving the rest of us out of a job till new hires here in January 2024 I repair what factorys mess up on and sometimes we have to do reengineering to make them better
That is crazy! Wow! Those are harsh work conditions. I'm sure today you get a lot of business repairing and reengineering. We've had a lot of defects with our Bounder. In fact, we're at REV Service in IN right now for the 4th time.
You can only buy from the dealerships. You can however get extra assistance from the manufacturer during a purchase at one of the big shows like Hershey or Tampa SuperShow. They will sometimes throw in extra incentives for the deal.

Hi Ricky. Oh yea..Boston is good stuff 😊 We'll get the full video out after the Tampa RV show. Stay tuned!

You make a very good point. I think the profit point is high enough to add higher grade products. Thanks for watching!
I for one would love to see the full tour. Yes it's loud, but that is the reality of a factory. Love to see how my 2022 35K was made.
You got it! We'll work on getting the full tour published. 😊

Thank you @The Casual RVer. We'll work on getting the full tour published. Seems like there is some interest even with all the noise.

Great video! We always love your attention to detail. I hate when I see something in a video and the presenters miss it.

Thanks for sharing the tour! You guys were lucky to see in there 🥰
Our pleasure! Yes, I don 't think they have allowed the general public in since early 2020.
I’m interested in seeing the whole tour please

Glad you think so!
Could you add a 2022 Bounder 35GL to your review list at the Tampa RV show?
Absolutely. I’d like to see that one too! 😊
I was disappointed with Newmar’s Tampa show they had one Gas class A coach.
I expected more models too! They had a great display at Hershey!
We are down to a Newmar or Fleetwood but so many people say Newmar is far better. What is your opinion.? And I know it is just your opinion.
Newmar has a reputation for better quality but also costs more. Fleetwood is more affordable. If money wasn't an option we would chose the Newmar.
Newmar is definitely better. But Entegra is also a great choise.
Can we buy from the factory then the dealership? Is it better? And a better deal than buying from a dealership?
You can only buy from the dealerships. You can however get extra assistance from the manufacturer during a purchase at one of the big shows like Hershey or Tampa SuperShow. They will sometimes throw in extra incentives for the deal.
@@AmpedtoGlamp t thank you for the quick response
Is it just me, or does anyone else find the ‘graphics’ disgusting?
I hope Mike's poorly fitting face mask isn’t an indication of manufacturing quality!
These masks are so ridiculous.
That was filmed back when everyone required them. Couldn’t get into the building without one.
I hate the new dash.
I’m with you. Not sure why they made such a drastic change. Sometimes I wonder if engineers own RVs. 🤔
