- Replaced EGR valve on 2014 Vauxhall Movano 2.3tdci, same as Renault Master 2.3dti
Cleaned egr and removed carbon build up using Mr Muscle foaming oven cleaner
Poor running/Limp Mode, “Injection Fault” and Engine management light/EML/Check Engine light displayed on dash.
P0402 diagnostic code

Yes Mr Muscle works great on things like inlet manifold and egr valve. I cleaned the CLKs egr a month or so ago with Mr M, just for preventative measures !!
I like to use it in the shower.

Grate video mate, I'm glade it is just not me the prats around with car parts trying to clean em up and that if there is cardon in it i go straght for the oven cleaner and do what ya did any way grate video as allways and that Mr Muscle is grate stuff for the egr to clean with.

@@StupidBlokeStupidVideos I know that feeling i do in my grandma and grandad's garage on a bit of card board and my grandad said "That will not clean up with oven cleaner i hope ya know that ya best of using carb cleaner or brake and clutch cleaner" i then said back "How do ya know ya neaver no it might clean up with oven cleaner" he then walked of and a good anout of time passed and i then said "look it has cleaned up" he then inspected it and went "Ok then ya win" i siad "Thank you i felt like wasting money by using oven cleaner"

Hi just took mine (movano) to a garage as went into limp was told it was egr valve fault . Informed me today the little flap you said fall off has gone missing not to be found ! And asked should they put it back together and do thr as that needs doing also. What the the chances it's gone out of the exhaust . Or should I be scared to drive it thanks Peter

Sí. es del interior del enfriador egr. Es bastante común que esta pieza se rompa y se atasque en la válvula egr.

The plate is just one of the fins that had broken off the heat exchanger inside the EGR cooler. Nothing important

@@benjimansmith995 hope you get sorted mate. You will likely get away without having to replace the egr valve itself too. Just removal of the semicircle piece that jams it up will hopefully sort your issue.
Just wondering ... when taking stuff apart do you ever forget where bits came from and review your videos to check? When I am working on stuff (not vehicles) I sometimes take photos so I can refer back to them if I need to check how it was before I started messing with it 😂
Never in the real world, but in the real world I’m not explaining what I’m doing to the camera. Tbh doing that can sometimes distract me cause me to forget which way stuff goes and I have to look back occasionally. In the real world I’m pretty anal about stuff going back exactly how it came off though, all the bolts have to be right and not swapped about and shit like that. Drives my work colleges mad I think 🤔

Hi, is this a motor with one turbo or biturbo? I have biturbov, until 2000 rmp does not want to accelerate after 2000 already goes. Does not pull uphill
This is single turbo model
Did you have any warning lights on dash? Mine has a flashing check engine light, it flashes 5 times quite fast and then starts flashing slowly and it will crank no start (tried with diag but no codes)
Not seen that with this one, but check live data. Check mainly fuel pressure and rpm signal. Have you tried to see if it fires up on a bit of brake cleaner?
@@StupidBlokeStupidVideos yeah tried some easy start and nothing, i'm going to crack open the dpf pressure sensor and see if it may be a totally blocked dpf maybe with it not starting on easy start, if that fails then it's back to the thinking table.

I have a 2013 renault master 2.3..my engine looks different? Can I just blank off where the blank was in this engine and drive away or do i have to remove and clean it which im trying to avoid..not worried about error codes on dash..just want it to run good.thanks for any advice.
You can blank off the egr valve but it will throw a code and an engine light unless you have it mapped out.
@StupidBlokeStupidVideos not bothered with a engine light..just worried about that egr flap..so will It be good if I just blanked it like the one in ur video and drive it away..cause some people say u have to blank it in to places..thanks for the reply..great video 👍

@@brendjoce ideally you wanna blank it at the exhaust end, but as long as it’s blanked then it’s blanked
I just had a fault with my Movano. P24A8 EGR cooler coolant pump performance/stuck off. My Temperature gauge goes straight to hot when starting from cold. Any ideas please Stupid Bloke 👍
I’ve not experienced that, however it sounds like it could be a wiring fault/shorted wiring if the coolant temp sensor and the electric coolant pump wiring is in the same loom 🤔
@@StupidBlokeStupidVideos ha ha ha just realised it’s the Ad-blu gauge not temperature. I don’t seem to have a temperature gauge. Maybe just a warning light if it gets too hot. Weird the French 🤪
@@topgroover haha ffs. Yea probably just a light, a lot of vehicles are that way these days. In that case, the issue is more than likely the electric pump itself by the sounds of it. They have a little electric pump that looks like a little plastic turbo 🤔
Hi mate can I ask what the symptoms were for the egr valve being changed was there a rattle when enging reved??
It was stuck open and choking itself on its own exhaust so wouldn’t run at all before the breakdown guy blanked it off

Hello, thanks for this video. i have problem with my master 3 2.3 dci 125. i've done a diagnostic and it says "VALVE EGR JAMMED OPEN" ... and i found the same fucking metal piece bloking the valve ! i don't change the EGR and i hope it will be ok now
Hopefully be ok now. It seems common for that piece to break away from inside the egr cooler and get wedged in the egr valve
Did you put it back somewhere or we can just live without that plate i was trying to figure it out where it come from that little plate..
Can i still use the old egr i wonder without it.
The plate/flap comes from the EGR cooler underneath the EGR valve a throttle body, Sometimes the flap breaks off and blocks EGR most of the time it goes the other way and 'rattles' all the way to the Turbo and destroys it.. EGR cooler features in the video at 2.32 @@mdsviewpoint4130

I take it you’re a heating engineer? We delve into a bit of commercial heating systems at work sometimes (when we can’t get out of it). Not on the gas side of things but diagnostics on the control systems usually. I had to work on a commercial ground source heat pump that failed around Xmas. What a pain in the arse that was!
