Atreus has his own Hurdy-Gurdy theme, and then you can hear Faye (Eivor's voice) coming in and being part of their journey always 'guiding them in the dark' even though she is already gone. ''Fyrirgefning'' in English is an apology and ''er þungbær'' means its hard. so the translation would be ''getting penance is hard earned''. 3. ''Græð kvöl hans'' translates to ''heal his pain''. 4. Jötuninn= The Giant. 5. ''Sefa heift hans'', translate to ''sate or calm his hate(or anger)''.

The reason most Icelanders understand/comprehend some of the old Norse is because for the past thousand years it has evolved grammatically slowly here since Iceland is so isolated. For that reason Icelandic is the closest language to the old Norse. there are some great videos on youtube where you can see just how close the languages are, just search for jackson crawford 🙂
