I want to say here that the story Kratos said to his son is a traditional Aesop tale we say here in Greece...I remember the elders and our teachers describing it to us...I cried when Kratos told the story to Atreus because of this reason...I wish RUclips allowed me to provide a link to the replies so you could see it for yourself...Kratos truly respect Aesopus...Αίσοπως. *There was an old man who chopped wood for his village. Every evening he bore the logs on his back and delivered them to his people. But the logs were heavy, and he grew weaker as time went. And one day, he threw down the logs, as he could no longer bare their weight, and he called for Death to come to him. And when... Death arrived... he asked the old man why he called for him. Seeing Death before him, caused the old man to reconsider his request. After a moment, he asked of Death to help him lift the logs onto his back, so he may continue on his journey. Aside from Blood Upon the Snow, this is by far my favourite track in the game.
There's an obvious sombre focus to it, like something sad is about to happen, but at the same time there's peaceful feeling to it. Like it portrays a feeling of... Acceptance. This is being played for a character that knows he might just finally be at the end of his days, but right when he starts accepting it, he pulls back. And realises that he isn't ready to die. He doesn't want to leave his son behind.

.... I've been in a place once in my life where I considered calling to death myself.... and I was in a hopeless .... dark .... bottomless pit of despair and deeply utterly depressed.... I thought nothing was gonna change the way things were .... and so I was going to jump .... but when facing down the barrel of that fall .... I realized exactly what the old man felt fear in following through .... and yet... a bittersweet .... faint .... sense of hope washed over that fear ... and made me want to live .... if you can feel that yourself as well .... then please: carry on with your fight .... don't let your light go out because everything seems pointless .... you're more than what you suffer and you are capable of living through the pain strangers .... love and peace to all 💙 ...!!

Kratos telling the story of an old man wanting to live is very reminiscent to my life. I dunno how, but it just relates in any possible scenario, regardless of what someone did.
As a kid, I was used to doing favors for people. I always helped them out and I expected kindness in return. But people always hide secrets, even the most introverted of humans. It made me question why I helped people, why I wanted their trust and to trust me in return.
It was something that gnawed at me for 13 straight years.
Ever since then, the favors got too heavy and I was starting to get older, so I couldn't bear to do them anymore. I've been used like a slave, treated like a puppet and I never questioned my loyalty once. Eventually, I shut myself in my room and asked for a sign of release, to get me free of this chain of labor and duty. I received one, and it told me to be who I naturally am. At the time, I didn't know what it meant - I was still naive and developing a sense in the world.
Now, as I've grown up with life, I understood the sign I got. You can take on the form of anyone - a monster, a kindhearted person, a traitor or someone who's undyingly loyal - and befriend people you care for. But it's not the form of someone that matters - it's their nature. The person who you've always been, who you will continue to be - _that_ is who you are. To accept one's nature is to become their true self.
I've embraced who I've become today. I hope all of you do the same. Your nature is always the most important virtue in one's essense - the form matters little. What you choose to do with that form is up to you, but it will never break who you truly are. You open your heart to the true you, and you find every reason to continue living.
Bless you, Santa Monica and God of War: Ragnarök - you taught me a lot.

I interpreted it as Kratos was talking about himself and when he gets to the part about "death came, he..." he stops because apart from seeing if he fell asleep, son, and that he reached the point of his life in The one who is now in that story of the woodcutter also stops because he does not know how to continue it because he does not know if he is going to survive Ragnarok, because the prophecy until that moment was being fulfilled to the letter, perhaps that is why it is so noticeable. Kratos' sad face or so he conveys when he looks closely, that's why when he resumes the story at the end, climbing towards the final sanctuary, he continues saying "I wanted to continue living." because he obviously survived ragnarok.

This story is interesting because not only is about an old man who wants to continue on living but it implies that kratos wants to continue living with Atreus but I feel like there’s a theory that he knows he’s dying because he keeps touching on the side of his hip indicating that his curse is slowly being lifted or in reality he’s getting old but Greek gods are immortal and Kratos is cursed to be immortal so I’m using until he surpresses his anger that curse will lift and we are seeing our legendary hero slowly dying

Only mistake is "beated", it would just be "beat". It's one of those weird verbs where the past, present, and future participles are weird.
They sort of have two forms, depending on whether the subject is the one doing the beating or the one being beat. In my examples, they will be shown in that order, one beating, then one being beat.
Using "beat" as the infinitive, or root word.
Past tense is "beat" or "was beaten"
Present tense is "beating" or "being beaten" Future tense is "will beat" or "will be beaten"
