    The engine's in these are almost bulletproof. The late 90s models make excellent runabouts. When they "updated" to the 206 they ruined it with a shit engine. You can't go wrong with a Saxo/106 of this era or mid/late 90s. They don't seem to rust either. I had one for 5 years and I drove it into the ground but nothing went wrong with it except for the clutch !

    • @exbomajoch
      @exbomajoch 7 лет назад +5

      Aye, the rust protection on the 106 is fantastic compared with the MkII and MKIII fiestas of the same era. The TUD series diesel engine is also a fantastic unit being mechanically injected.

      Henry Discipline So did virtually every small car of that era. You don’t buy a 90s supermini for its safety credentials!

    • @Samspianopage
      @Samspianopage 4 года назад +4

      @@TRASHoftheTITANS Nope, ye don't but then again not as many folk were as worried about that in them days as EuroNCAP didn't exist until what about 1996 or7 when they started regularly crash testing things and gave the late 80's early 90s motors a good showing up.
      But for what they were designed to be, I think these were the best Superminis, todays ones are all body and they've actually moved up in several sizes classes in comparison to what they were 20 years ago.
      Safety might've gone up, but sometimes ye have to wonder if some folks driving standards have gone down at the same time and that was almost a necessity to compensate LOL.
