- New video featuring Johnny The Ripper's easy flow and unique style cruising around Downtown LA on the 29" Swallow. Just like its namesake, this board is fast and loose, a magic combination of length and width that makes it easy to pump, and perfectly stable for cruising.

Welcome back zephyr skate team!
This comment is gold ! 🤙
Grew up skating and surfing in Venice beach in the era of early grab airs off launch ramps etc. Feels so good to do these on my Carver now at 48 years old.
This kid has the Dogtown and Z Boyz vibe, love it.
Did we just enter a time machine? Well done!!

yall finally posted after such a long time! i got my carver a couple months ago and i absolutely love mine!! i recommend getting one for the ones who dont have one. my surfing has definitely improved to the point where i get to go down to regionals in north carolina to compete with kids all across the eastern shore!! yewww
George Kafiridis i placed fourth and surfer yesterday. the conditions were really tough but it was a great experience and I'm already in for next year
I just got my first Carver CX a week ago, the Black Tip, and I noticed Carver was selling the Triton series for 50% off, and also ordered one of those in a shorter wheelbase. Tons of fun !
Comeback to the roots ! Irado!
The end like a Jay boy
Dudes 100% getting mind bazzed🌊
Johnny Depp played a teenage surfer absolutely perfectly!
He never did play a surfer, Sean Penn who did as Spicoli.
Final shot is rad!!
My average day as a 13 year old in Venice circa 1978
This would be amazing in 1962
73.That's the whole point.
Still amazing. And actually better and more pure than a lot of what we see now.
Some people just wanna flow
@@brianlocal3 better then what we see now?lol
You obviously don’t know anything about skating
Gnarrmasterflex X not talking technical ability. The tech side of skating ( hell,BMx, Snow boardin etc) is Ages ahead.
I’m talking filmography, flow , the feeling of the videos.
@@brianlocal3
Flow. Some skaters have it still (Andy etc). Bert's, laybacks, nosewheelie carves. The influence of the early pool/allround skaters like Z boys, Adams, Alva, Peralta the better flatlanders like Nadalin, Martinez, Andress, Page. Some of the newer female skaters actually have more flow. Sky Brown, Armato(?) Not saying there isn't technical greatness in Mullenesque, Isamu-ish , Hawk-ish approach to the various disciplines (and they do sometimes flow.) More of a staccato kineticism though which is also fun to watch.
Wow! Those places are amazing
Simplesmente demais !!! Sonho mandar bem assim no Carver , fora o pico que ajuda muito ... Califa dream
Nicely done 😁🤙 Me since '84.
wow.. thats my nephew so proud of you johnny boy
Love my Carver! 🤙
I'm subscribed with all notifs, liked, commented, etc.
I,m bk on a board after not riding pools since 1987, I,m now 61 and use a cane to walk, and am legally blind in both eyez. And a pacemaker in my chest beating my heart 81% of the time.Soooo if you live to mY age ,I hope ya cAn still carve it up like I was this morning...I was shredding empty pools in the 70’s and 80’s..Now I,m just carving up the streets here in T-town(Truckee,CA)...PeAcE!!!
Ripper indeed. I put a waterborne rear surf rail on my Carved and I gotta say it ripps a little more.
you’d recommend mixing the two?
@@Natertaterr it give the rear a feeling like the fin on a surfboard and ads maybe 20% to proposition. The carver front truck has the better mechanism though.
But you can get the rear from waterborne by itself I think around 40 bucks American. What also is great about mine is I love 107mm flywheels I never have to kick and that's what I've always been looking for.
@@Natertaterr don't listen to anyone on internet.... 107mm wheels...really-.-
I like the bit when he turned.
Disqualified!! He touched the ground!
I feel like this style of skating would be a lot easier than modern trick skating (street skating). It looks like a lot more fun.
It is.Flipping your board while riding is just not a pool riders thing,un functional.
This video is perfect
Love him
final shot is crazy
Just having fun like a boss
First time I feel so much better on a board

Skateboarding before the invention of jumping
Dreaming to put the carver surfing in those streets. Brazil make me feel disgusted about the way we ride here bro. Them...
In brazil you have the best surfskater in the world that use smoothstar
Disgusted? Caralho mano baixa a bola ai kkkkkk também não é assim e outra skate é rua! Pega e vai andar sem essa de choro!
C7 or CX trucks ?I'm buying my first carver ! Have the 29" penny with waterborne trucks which is cool. But it requires so little pumping. Very lose . I like more the heavier carving...
I have both and much prefer the c7, more surfy
Classic bertlemann

That of RIP
We’re is that first skatepark at? Anybody?
What's the first skatepark location?
Lord's of dog town 2
Why would a skateboard need a swallow tail? It isn't a surfboard. Swallow tails have utility in the water. On hard ground it's just a look, but does nothing to add to performance. My biggest gripe about Carver is they get people thinking that their boards are special for surf style skating, and they are, but beyond that not much else. The crazy part is I can rip all these guys who ride Carver's on my regular set-up? It's just been my regular style since the 70's. I almost can't help it. I rely on me, my body weight, and style, not a special surf/skate board with loose trucks and limitations. I even went and bought one to see what all the talk was about. After a day I had it mastered, now what? sidenote: Carver recently had a contest in Venice but wouldn't let me enter with a regular set-up. I guess they didn't want people to see someone on a regular board shred on them surf style? Bad for business I guess. I think the only positive thing about them is girl's are now starting to take an interest in them. And as a result taking an interest in the sport. They get a 10 for that. The small one called the Surfrider reminds me of a late 70's sidewalk surfing board. It repond's well and doesn't require the big clunky trucks. Most of other model's are just too big and heavy. I always laugh when someone in their 40's makes it seem like they are old. I'm in my late 50's and I don't even consider the age factor, in my mind I'm the same as in my 20's.
Did he move to California?
