Kelly’s kids are so ill-mannered and disrespectful half the time while on the other hand Penina’s kids are well mannered and grateful however they can benefit from fresh meals and fun family time. Both families are not entirely bad they just need to find a balance between saving and having fun.
Penina, loosen up a tad. Your kids are responsible so reward them with allowing them to choose either a home made dinner once a week or a fun family night out to dinner at least twice a month. Doesn't have to be expensive but not so cheap either. Kellie, No frozen sandwiches, a reasonable budget, help with chores by kids and plan for a fun family vacation when kids are out of school for summer. Put aside an emergency fund stash for unexpected medical or vehicle bills or pay a little extra on household bills or college for kids each month.
When the dad opened the check I was afraid he was going to squash it. The kids were holding their breath. When he said "worth every penny. " it was great to see the happiness on his son's face.
Pinnia needs to cook a home cooked meal twice a week, give her kids fresh lunch everyday and take them on an outing at least once a month. Kelly needs to make sure that her children attend school and take them on outing over the weekend. She should let them do chores and discipline them. They need to know the serious side of life and not just the funniest side
It was nice that Kellie got the kids to have a little fun. You could see the joy in their faces. However Kellie has a mean temper, and her kids has her attitude
yes, but the vic family didn't change at all. i like how the wa family turned out. they originally threw their money away. why were there nappies in their house though? all the credit for the all the change must go to penina. good on ya penina
Fr, that how I saw it. Most of these wife swaps usually have something the mothers are good at, but also show their flaws and how they can do better when they return to their families.
I dont know..kids who doesnt help with house chores really got me..like why???why cant you help your parents, atleast clean up your room and wash your clothes if you're old enough..i hope the teen change a bit
Imagine stressing your kids out about money. Can you imagine these kids must feel fearful to ask for anything because of what their parents reaction would be?
You are ABSOLUTELY RIGHT. unfortunately as a kid I found myself being that way. Looking at price tags because I was aware of my mother's financial problems
Agreed. My family always acted like we didn’t have money (we did though). I caught on and it made me super anxious to ask for things I wanted cause I believed we couldn’t afford them.
I don't see anything wrong with it. The kids seem happy. The other kids are brats who don't respect hard work and responsibility and end up being a drain on society. Ultimately a balance between the two is best. Spoiled brats with no chores are awful. And no fun ever sucks too. If they enjoy the cleaning then that's a good thing, really.
Gross! I can eat off $35 a week, but I'll have berries, salads, stir fry, avocados, Mexican food, rotisserie chicken, etc. Not hard to eat well on the cheap.
I mean… could she not at least break it up twice a week to maintain a splash more of the freshness? Yes, buying in bulk is cheaper, but only cooking once a month and freezing everything, especially bread, is sooooo disgusting. Maybe she should just buy canned tuna and have the kids bring that instead?
@@akb3512 Month old frozen ham and frozen cheese. That woman is insane. Sure, make a double batch of spaghetti bolognaise and freeze half, but cook fresh pasta. Every meal in that house comes out of a microwave.
@@moniquepearson4478 All of our food is fresh and bought from farmers markets. Our food is local and doesn't travel far. We snap-freeze super fresh food and we also eat fruit and fresh toppers. My kids are well-supported in a loving and super happy family environment. The toys you saw my children playing with on the show were purchased by me. We have a heap of fun. Thanks.
My heart shattered for that poor boy saying that non of his mates want to trade lunches with him and how excited he was to finally have a chance to do so now that he has a fresh one😢
Kelly has no consideration for her husband's earnings, she needs to have work experience and be the breadwinner and have her husband take time off and spend HER money like she did his.
Isn't he kinda ballistic anyway? Ha. I actually worked in a restaurant for six months when I was younger and the irony is that much of the food was frozen in batches and then reheated. E.g. The meat sauce for spaghetti. I'm no Chef, but restaurants do this because many would waste too much food otherwise.
(Sandwich bags, yes) but I think he would be low-key and impressed with all of that homemade food, regardless if it was frozen or not. Food that is frozen but previously homemade does have a shelf life that is entirely acceptable.... I feel like Gordon would have a fit with the opposing household and a lack of homemade preparation and organization that went with it
@@Russell-ji2fl there are higher standards for a restaurant you are paying fresh meals for and I doubt a family with two kids, with parents who both have full-time jobs can produce a fresh home cooked meal everyday. I make elaborate and extensive meals for me and my fiance, just chili or a baked ham, with the intent of freezing a portion of it for later. The local meat market in my town which centers around Amish grown products proudly serves fresh frozen meals such as Italian beef, BBQ chicken, and homemade meatballs, and those meals, affordable, but not the cheapest, are delicious and well liked by many. Sensing a lot of judgment here and I wonder what you eat 7 days a week.
The frozen sandwiches makes me feel sick just to save money. I’ve bought a weeks worth of shopping with fresh ingredients, drinks and household items every single week and it’s cost me £70 at the most. Frankly it’s better to spend a fortune on fresh food that’s actually nice . What made me angry at the end was when the money saving family didn’t change their ways and claimed that eating out was a waste of money. As a special treat is NOT a waste of money. Her kids must be so miserable.
@@aliceoshonie8224 same! Plenty of food can be frozen- but just having it thaw by lunch?? That’s gross. For dinner or breakfast is different. You can use a microwave, a skillet, etc so things aren’t soggy. It’s different if you have like yogurt or juice, yeah that’s fine to freeze for school lunch but otherwise oof. Fresh food isn’t hard to prepare for a week or buy. I never spent that much $$ on food either as I don’t have the funds too.
Budget should include fun, I’m so confused why her budget does not include any fun, I think she mentioned $50, but that might just include cell phone bills? It’s clear their mortgage is beyond their means.
So nuce how the dad said "worth every penny!" And was so appreciative! Just as the other son said the sauce tasted good and that dad was happy to have saved sone money. They have both learned something--if you save a bit one some days, you'llhave more to spend on others! One of the best eps I have ever seen!
I love how the kids on Paninas side were happy to have fun, poor babies just needed some variation. But Kelli's husband was all about implementing the structure and money saving.

What stood out to me more than the frozen sandwiches, the overspending and the lack of fun....THE HUSBANDS! Both were such good sports with the new moms, and not once insulted their differences in households.
That's pretty standard for all the versions of this show. The dads are cool and just go along for the ride. It's the mother's that are wearing the pants and are the most judgemental of the opposing family. This show is not so much about different people live but more so a psychological study of women. And it's not making the ladies look good at all.
Both the husbands were great! I really felt bad for the “fun” husband when they all met at the end and his wife, the blonde girl, was telling him to shut up. Disrespectful.

Panina CLEARLY gets a kick out of making people miserable. “They’re not my kids, so I don’t care how they feel”, “suck it up kids”, “bad cop, bad cop Panina” AS SHE SMIRKS, “suck it up buttercup”. Then belittling the children as they clean and follow her rules; yes structure and budgeting is good, but getting joy out of making people upset or angry just because she thinks she’s always right is completely unfair… especially when she’s not right. I agree Kellie spends too much each month, but she is correct when it comes to Panina making her kids miserable. The fact that she doesn’t care how she makes Kellies kids feel but expects Kellie to treat her kids right. She’s SO snobby and looks down her nose on everyone, quite literally. And frozen sandwiches!? 🤢🤢🤢 I’d never heard of such a thing! Who the hell freezes sandwiches 🤢 and her friends are just as snobby. Panina literally left Kellie’s house thinking she was the best goddamn thing to walk the Earth and she had life’s answers all figured out. Kellie’s family aren’t good enough for her which is disgusting. All her freezing matches her frozen heart and demeanour. Even her husband was relieved and happy to be relaxing for the weekend (not the money spending obviously 😂). Having a fun day with the kids once a month isn’t a bad thing, days out don’t even have to cost anything!! It could just be going to the park and playing board games! And at the end when Panina “stirred the pot”, as the voice over said, and she went on about money and budgeting and then SMILING AND LAUGHING when Kellie and Kellie’s husband started a heated discussion. She’s just evil. I’m glad she cried at the end realising Kellie genuinely cared about her kids and didn’t treat them like crap like she did with Kellie’s children. Yes Kellie’s children have a bit to go with their attitude, but they are kids and a teenager, I was a nightmare as a teen 😭 I’d be binning all of those frozen sandwiches 🤢 saving for a caravan is such a good idea; my mum and Dad have a campervan and have lived their dreams in it! Hope Kellie and family are happy and so are Panina’s children.. Panina get your head out the clouds 💀 you’re not a god
I just think they're both extreme Kellie allowing the kids to skip school and Panina boring her kids to a point they are so used to it is sad and frozen foods for a week is crazy. The show needs parents who are so extremely different otherwise they would have got the desired reactions.
Just 1 min and 30 seconds in I can already tell you both mom's need to mix their personalities . There is nothing wrong with tightening up your spending to pay bills , kids helping with chores. There is also nothing wrong with splurging a little and having fun . We only get this one life to live . There needs to be a balance between both worlds , no reason to go so extreme in either direction.
The 14yr old can't even get anyone to swap sandwiches with him and their faces when they saw the fresh buns and chicken. You don't have to go to fancy restaurants or Mc Donald's but I'm sure a rotisserie chicken now and then wouldn't break the bank.
@@creativity3746 I'm sure anyone would want to swap their bloody frozen sandwich for a nicer lunch. Have you never been a kid? Swapping lunches is not uncommon. I used to trade half of my (rather big) sandwich for snacks. The girl I swapped with was pretty chubby, but her parents didn't feed her at all. I was half her size as I was really skinny for my age, but I ate more than her. I knew she needed the food and I liked snacks so it worked out. It's not unhygienic if it's packaged.
exactly! my parents aren't frugal when it comes to grocery shopping, but my grandparents who live on much less money eat even better than us. they buy a rotisserie chicken once a week, fresh food and still manage to stock up on supplies and packaged/canned food.
I loved Richard’s reaction to the bill for the Japanese dinner. So cute. Their budget saving is awesome and teaches the kids so much, but if you can afford it, you should definitely have a treat like this as a family. The teppanyaki was a great idea of kellies. But Kellie is a bit too loose... I thought Brendan’s reaction to Penina’s meal plans was cute! It’s a bit regimented for me but there are definitely some good tips there!!
Look honestly she could have shown them having fun without spending too much $80 at the game place is a rip off the dad was right a waste of money lol they could have bought something instead
Totally agree! And, thank you Ellen. I always wanted to go to that Teppanyaki restaurant but we couldn't afford it as we had other priorities (like looking after parents). Then COVID hit and the restaurant closed down. Actually, I am from an amazing and incredible musical family and we all know how to sing and play so many instruments! I don't have to go to a restaurant because I taught both my kids guitar (which we filmed for the show) but those scenes didn't make the cut! They filmed Coco and I playing but it all never aired!
The strict moms kids are just the sweetest bundle of joy I do think that budget is important but maybe once a week or something take the kids out and the chores do make the guys more responsible
Their son has a virtual headset for videogames, so their budgetting does give them spending money. They just need to find the balance between these two extremes.
I dont see anything wrong with getting the kids to do chores, they live there too! If you suddenly have to hit the real world and have to fend for yourself, bit of a shock to the system... do chores, then have fun.

I really feel like there’s a happy medium. I had chores growing up, everyday, and I do believe that kids do need to do chores to learn to keep a good clean place of their own, and pick up after themselves. But also there should be fun, and also should save money because that’s the responsible thing to do, and teaching your kids about money and being responsible saving money also.. These are all good things every child should learn.
I agree There's definitely a happy medium but penina is to far the wrong way, I grew up with chores and so do my children my parents didn't have much money to constantly take us out and do things but we had plenty fun and things to do, there was plenty play time as well as a couple chores a day We've learnt to save and spend wisely I love a bargain I feel like penina doesn't even look for bargain things to do you know like theme parks etc where you can get 2 for 1 and different vouchers, are the kids in clubs? they made their life look like no fun activities at all just cleaning and cooking which is good of course but portraying that life every single day and no actual fun was super depressing to see especially those kids, seeing their faces literally glow up because they was getting a fresh lunch was so saddening your kids food and health should be top priority it's a must especially for education Then again she claimed to cook once a month which is shocking and lazy for a stay at home mum to not have even an hr per day to cook a healthy fresh meal is awful I spend around 70pounds a week on shopping yet my 2 kids eat 3 fresh cooked healthy meals a day plenty veg and fruits so she definitely has no excuse if I can do it with her ways she definitely can to She needs to loosen up slightly taking those kids out once maybe twice a month isn't going to break the bank
I didn't grow up having to do chores (culture thing) and I still know how to keep my own space clean and organized. As a result I don't think chores are necessary for kids to learn things like that, but they're absolutely still important.
when the fun mom said, "but.. I don't know about school..." that made me smile so hard. reminds me of when I was little ad my dad used to just take me and my brother out of school to go to the aquarium or smth. those are my favourite memories from when I was little, it really is important for a child.
I disagree a bit. I know someone who’s husband suddenly died and the family was in trouble because they had no savings and suddenly only had one income to live off of. They ended up loosing their home. So, I believe that having fun is important but having savings is vital.

Kellie has unlocked the life of happiness. Teaching kids confidence, and spending their times building their personalities is a lot more important than being household workers. Penina and her husband are tight arses. They think they’re helping their kids but they’re doing it for their own benefit so they can live mortgage free. Stripping their kids from freedom and childhood
But Kellie could learn a few things like teaching her children chores. They can learn a lot of responsibility from that. It’s small and sometimes annoying but it can get far.
Don't mistake confidence for being spoiled, lazy, or disrespectful. Kelly's kids may grow up lacking responsibility and feeling disappointed when life isn't all fun and games. On the other hand, Penina's kids will grow up well-mannered, financially responsible, and appreciative of the little good things in life. I admire how Penina, though she thinks her way is better, is still classy enough to thank Kelly. Kelly, on the other hand, couldn't be humble enough to do the same.
I am someone who grew up with parents who had no money and we lived pay check to pay check. I now have children of my own and I incorporate both saving/budgeting as well as giving my family the opportunity to splurge here and there for fun family activities. You can do both. Chores for the kids are fine. But fresh food is also something that should be considered
I loved the idea that you should live in the moment from the first mom And I loved the idea of saving for the future too and I want to try the idea of freezing foods but definitely not sandwiches So I guess they both have great Idea's but they go to an extreme level with it
I totally agree, they are both at the extreme. I mean maybe combine both of their idea. Slash the $2600 by half and you get to save some and still have some fun.
As someone who does a fair amount of freezing (blame warm weather plus limited budget) it’s pretty good for things like meat, bread, and certain types of vegetables. The important thing to remember is that, when you freeze something, especially in the average home freezer, you are causing tiny ice crystals to form in the food. These ice crystals can then lead to microscopic tears and cell damage (it’s the same mechanism behind frostbite but this time on a rhubarb). Now, while it’s usually not a problem (heck, you can actually exploit it to get some pretty nice steaks and carrots) it’s something to keep in mind so you don’t turn certain things into a chewy mush. Additionally, there’s also the method of de-frosting (as a general rule, defrosting in the fridge is best, defrosting at room temperature is alright- mostly due to the risk of bacteria growth in certain cases, and defrosting in the microwave is the devils taint). I know I really rambled there but, hey, if it helps a person save money while also making sure their food doesn’t taste like crap then why not.
I meal prep 14 meals that include chicken, vegetables and rice and I freeze it. I put it in the microwave when I want to eat, it’s healthy, fast and still tastes fresh. Cooking a whole month worth of food and freezing bread to eat at school for lunch is DISGUSTING. Really, shame on her.
My issue with Penina's frugality: I understand shopping in advance, but I also worked in a supermarket, often serving farm families who live 1hr+ from the shops. I can understand buying in bulk like that if you live rural, but Frankston is *not* rural, she could shop once a fortnight if she wanted to be frugal and still have the same effect.
Penina is a smart women and setting up her family for the future and hard times. Earlier retirement, collage/ university covered. Plus mortgage free. Plus savings .Everyone need a budget rich/middle class/poor. Not a fan of frozen food but the ingredients are fresh as being pre-made.
I'm sorry but if I were a stay at home mum my family would get fresh cooked food daily, not this crap frozen food shit, I would be ashamed! What does she do all day when her kids are at school? It's also quite sad they don't allow the kids to have fun, they'll resent their parents when they're older!
Penny piching to the extreme sucks all the joy out of life. It was lovely to see those kids having some real fun and such a pity that that was their one and only time.

She was responsible and genuinely trying to improve the other families lives. Just as I think the other Mom was. I hope they learned a bit from each other. It's obvious the way the kids communicate with their parents which one is more beneficial However I do think both mom's have the best interest of their kids shaped by their own personal experiences. Living on a budget is fun! And going out to eat in Australia is SO expensive we only do it on very special occasions.
i think they are both good mommas ! i think they were the best to swap with one another as they both can learn from eachother. i think they should incorporate each other’s techniques into their lives. one knows how to have fun and one knows how to save. you gotta have both !!
The budget mom shouldn't be suprised when the second her kids move out of the house they cut off all ties with her. She doesn't care about them at all, she only cares about money
My mum was very strict and we do more than a chores when I was a kid, we go to school from7:30-4. No way I would cut off my mum. I even send her money every month.
They are doing it tonbe mortgage free. They want to have an asset to leave their children. Thats not gping to be happening like it did in eatlier generations.
I know. Ones a total control freak, along with her friends. The other totally irresponsible, along with her mother. I feel bad for both their families.
It’s funny how the ones that are just “sooooo laid back and chill” (Kellie) are the same ones that have bad attitudes and aren’t very nice people. You don’t have to be OCD but you also don’t have to be a mean, toxic, slob.
Let’s be honest. She’s still going to be cheap after that mortgage is paid. She claims that’s the goal, but I doubt her lifestyle will change. Also, I guess everyone who goes out to eat is just frivolous. 🤷🏾♀️ You’ve thrown that money to the dogs. You’ve wiped your butt with it. Ah. What a waste. What is their marriage even? 😂
I like watching the different versions of this show done in different countries. There's a massive difference between the US, British, Oz and NZ versions of this, it's so interesting to see how other families live.
Id be so embarrassed if my kids were that disrespectful even if they don’t like the new rules. I’d be super embarrassed if I found out my wife was spending thousands of dollars more than we needed
I honestly think that both of the moms can learn from each other. Too much of anything is not good. That applies for both moms. It’s about trying to balance both budgeting and fun time, then everyone will be happy. Period😌
What annoys me is that it is more budget friendly when you make things from scratch. A bag of flour costs the same as one frozen pizza and it can make multiple different things like pasta, pizza, and bread.
I think the budget saving mum was spot on with her planning and chores etc. The only thing I draw the line with is the sandwiches, they really should be fresh! I think the big spender mum is immature and a bit selfish.
I’m trying not to be judgmental here but the frozen food was too extreme. At least switch the types of meals you serve to your kids every couple days or something. They might be missing some essential vitamins that they need.
Children need structure and routine in life that is primary but a dash of fun is needed as well I think both families need to take a cue from each other to balance
The kids were so happy to have alot of food. Seems like they're restricted to how much they can eat. Makes me so sad for them they just lit up going out.
Penny is a very strange woman, her children look unhappy. How can you feed children every day with frozen burgers, they need healthy and fresh food, poor children
I understand that Kellie may need to have abit more control when it comes to finances but I’m happy to see her care about those lovely kids. Penina acts like such a sophisticated judgmental woman you’d think that she would know how to budget and bulk cook fresh food for her growing kids. It’s ridiculous.
🤣 stay at home mum doesn't have time to make fresh sandwiches. Maybe if she got a job and some extra money coming in she wouldn't have to be so friggin cheap
"I don't know about school today." "Whaaaat?!" "I think we should do something more fun." Well, I am with her that life should not be serious all the time, and fun should be had, but schooling is a necessity, otherwise how are the kids going to be able to make a better future for themselves?
They don't get soggy, I promise, at least as long as you don't microwave them. Let them thaw in an oven before packing it for lunch, wrap it in a paper towel, and they're fine.
Such a great show. Saving for a campervan sounds great and inspiring for them and having more fun doesn't mean going and spending $200 every week on going out. The husbands did well being open for the ride a reality check and the wives being open to share their views.
Husband 1 is right. Organization does make things easier & actually saves time because you're not freaking out trying to find anything. However there is an extreme just like the frozen food. Kids absolutely need chores without them they won't be able to be productive members of society.
"we're certainly not going to waste money on having fun". Wow, that was the saddest statement! 😔
What's even funnier, is we went on the show to have some fun - ha!!!!
@@savingsroom yeah but your children shouldn't be living off of frozen foods, no fun etc.

Kelly’s kids are so ill-mannered and disrespectful half the time while on the other hand Penina’s kids are well mannered and grateful however they can benefit from fresh meals and fun family time. Both families are not entirely bad they just need to find a balance between saving and having fun.
Exactly!! I think both families need to compromise a bit and reign it in
Finally a comment not bashing someone’s parenting styles. Nobody’s perfect and this experience is to help them not judge them.
this is the answer to most episodes, both are extremes in opposite directions and they could improve by being less extreme.
Completely agree!
Bruh if I spoke like that I’d get beat wtf who taught these kids to speak like that 💀
Those kids faces immediately brightened up as soon as they were getting no more frozen food nd they got to play
Who wants to have frozen food all the time, just laziness, you can save money with having fresh food just buy cheap and bargain
Literally almost cried he had such a blast even at the end he was like yes let’s go back! He needs to grab that crown back!
My fave part❤
Pinnia needs to cook a home cooked meal twice a week, give her kids fresh lunch everyday and take them on an outing at least once a month. Kelly needs to make sure that her children attend school and take them on outing over the weekend. She should let them do chores and discipline them. They need to know the serious side of life and not just the funniest side
This! It's called balance.
She needs to cook a fresh meal every single day, no freezin!
Balance right there!

I don’t think it was made unkindly i think it was her attempt at a little tongue in cheek humor
It was nice that Kellie got the kids to have a little fun. You could see the joy in their faces. However Kellie has a mean temper, and her kids has her attitude
Kellie is incredibly selfish. Not a fan.

Agreed. My family always acted like we didn’t have money (we did though). I caught on and it made me super anxious to ask for things I wanted cause I believed we couldn’t afford them.
Welcome to my world
I don't see anything wrong with it. The kids seem happy. The other kids are brats who don't respect hard work and responsibility and end up being a drain on society. Ultimately a balance between the two is best. Spoiled brats with no chores are awful. And no fun ever sucks too. If they enjoy the cleaning then that's a good thing, really.
The kids faces when she said no more frozen sandwiches…priceless!
"I shop once a month & cook once a month."
That sounded so bad...
but it was worse!
She was making her kids eat month old ham, thats disgusting isn’t it
@@akb3512 Month old frozen ham and frozen cheese. That woman is insane. Sure, make a double batch of spaghetti bolognaise and freeze half, but cook fresh pasta. Every meal in that house comes out of a microwave.

She was right though.
Right? She was making all sorts of subtle digs and gathering info to turn others against her.
I feel so bad Panina’s kids, they were the sweetest purest people ever they deserve to have some fun….
Imagine Gordon Ramsay going through Penina’s fridge. Oof. He’d go ballistic
So true
Isn't he kinda ballistic anyway? Ha. I actually worked in a restaurant for six months when I was younger and the irony is that much of the food was frozen in batches and then reheated. E.g. The meat sauce for spaghetti. I'm no Chef, but restaurants do this because many would waste too much food otherwise.
It would be like the episode where the Chef was serving fresh Frozen
That's pretty standard for all the versions of this show. The dads are cool and just go along for the ride. And it's not making the ladies look good at all.

I agree There's definitely a happy medium but penina is to far the wrong way, I grew up with chores and so do my children my parents didn't have much money to constantly take us out and do things but we had plenty fun and things to do, there was plenty play time as well as a couple chores a day
We've learnt to save and spend wisely I love a bargain I feel like penina doesn't even look for bargain things to do you know like theme parks etc where you can get 2 for 1 and different vouchers, are the kids in clubs? they made their life look like no fun activities at all just cleaning and cooking which is good of course but portraying that life every single day and no actual fun was super depressing to see especially those kids, seeing their faces literally glow up because they was getting a fresh lunch was so saddening your kids food and health should be top priority it's a must especially for education
Then again she claimed to cook once a month which is shocking and lazy for a stay at home mum to not have even an hr per day to cook a healthy fresh meal is awful
I spend around 70pounds a week on shopping yet my 2 kids eat 3 fresh cooked healthy meals a day plenty veg and fruits so she definitely has no excuse if I can do it with her ways she definitely can to
She needs to loosen up slightly taking those kids out once maybe twice a month isn't going to break the bank
I didn't grow up having to do chores (culture thing) and I still know how to keep my own space clean and organized. As a result I don't think chores are necessary for kids to learn things like that, but they're absolutely still important.
Every family on this show just needs to understand moderation. We always see the extreme of the spectrum.
when the fun mom said, "but.. I don't know about school..." that made me smile so hard. reminds me of when I was little ad my dad used to just take me and my brother out of school to go to the aquarium or smth. those are my favourite memories from when I was little, it really is important for a child.
Maybe on weekends but during school days? Weekends are there for a reason lmao
Kelly isn't wasting money she's living her life with her family to the fullest i like her philosophy
Exactly as long as their rent is paid and needs are met. They can have fun however they want...I lowkey want to be friends with her...
I disagree a bit. I know someone who’s husband suddenly died and the family was in trouble because they had no savings and suddenly only had one income to live off of. They ended up loosing their home. So, I believe that having fun is important but having savings is vital.
@@elizacharles9977 you can always pay for life insurance, but I still agree with you. Saving a portion of your salary is important

Why would paying your mortgage be more important than your kids nutrition 🥴

Kellie has unlocked the life of happiness. Teaching kids confidence, and spending their times building their personalities is a lot more important than being household workers. Penina and her husband are tight arses. They think they’re helping their kids but they’re doing it for their own benefit so they can live mortgage free. Stripping their kids from freedom and childhood
But Kellie could learn a few things like teaching her children chores. They can learn a lot of responsibility from that. It’s small and sometimes annoying but it can get far.
And yet Kellie’s kids have awful attitudes and don’t know the value of having money.
@@trantran-wz6tz there’s other ways of going about teaching financial responsibility. Not buy freeloading and utilising your children as free labour
Say what y'all want to say Kelly's husband was rethinking his whole marriage when he heard them numbers😂😂😂
I loved the idea that you should live in the moment from the first mom
And I loved the idea of saving for the future too and I want to try the idea of freezing foods but definitely not sandwiches
So I guess they both have great Idea's but they go to an extreme level with it
I totally agree, they are both at the extreme. I mean maybe combine both of their idea. Slash the $2600 by half and you get to save some and still have some fun.
@@jinwoosung7456 After the show we all learned a lot and I think now we are all sitting in the middle of serious and fun. It was great for that!
I think alot of these episodes are like that.
Kellies family learned their lesson and started budgeting. Panina did not and her family still isn’t enjoying life over living a frugal existence
The Fun wife actually cared about the kids feelings the Budget wife even said she dont care they are not her kids NOT COOL AT ALL 😡
My issue with Penina's frugality: I understand shopping in advance, but I also worked in a supermarket, often serving farm families who live 1hr+ from the shops. I can understand buying in bulk like that if you live rural, but Frankston is *not* rural, she could shop once a fortnight if she wanted to be frugal and still have the same effect.
My mom shopped once a week home cooked meals every night
Penina is a smart women and setting up her family for the future and hard times. Earlier retirement, collage/ university covered. Plus mortgage free. Plus savings .Everyone need a budget rich/middle class/poor. Not a fan of frozen food but the ingredients are fresh as being pre-made.
I'm sorry but if I were a stay at home mum my family would get fresh cooked food daily, not this crap frozen food shit, I would be ashamed! What does she do all day when her kids are at school? My mum still freezes bread because “it keeps it fresh” and I’m beyond baffled how she could even think like that.
Looking at the excitement on the kids faces after knowing they will finally be having fun is priceless. Life is not all about saving saving saving budget budget budget.
I don’t like that Panina said she didn’t care how Kellie’s kids felt because they weren’t her kids. That’s really insensitive
Penina's kids and her husband looked so happy at the arcade and genuinely happy
LaToya looks like she is permanently exhausted by life in general, she needs her own show entitled " So annoying" 😂😂😂😂, she makes me laugh.
She was hilarious and terrifying because my daughter is similar...I need to introduce some structure because the others Mom's children knew what to expect from the beginning and were well balanced and so much more respectful and when they are treated to fun it's a TREAT not just an expected entitled thing.

The budget mom shouldn't be suprised when the second her kids move out of the house they cut off all ties with her. She doesn't care about them at all, she only cares about money

Extremes can be tricky. But it is hard to find a balance. I feel for both families. Exteme on both ends.
I cringe at both these people's lives, if I'm being honest.

It’s funny how the ones that are just “sooooo laid back and chill” (Kellie) are the same ones that have bad attitudes and aren’t very nice people. You don’t have to be OCD but you also don’t have to be a mean, toxic, slob.
23:19 the stare down w her cutting the pizza is just so funny to me ☠
Let’s be honest. She’s still going to be cheap after that mortgage is paid. She claims that’s the goal, but I doubt her lifestyle will change. Also, I guess everyone who goes out to eat is just frivolous. 🤷🏾♀️
You’ve thrown that money to the dogs. You’ve wiped your butt with it. Ah. What a waste.

Depends on where you live
Uses water and electricity and time. Time you could spend earning more cash
'Penny Pinching Penina' :D Love this Aussies!
I think the budget saving mum was spot on with her planning and chores etc. The only thing I draw the line with is the sandwiches, they really should be fresh!
I think the big spender mum is immature and a bit selfish.
All food should be fresh honestly. How is she saving money by cooking once a month? She could still cook everyday
I’m trying not to be judgmental here but the frozen food was too extreme. At least switch the types of meals you serve to your kids every couple days or something. They might be missing some essential vitamins that they need.
Frozen foods aren't bad as long as the food can be meal prepped. But sandwiches can't be prepped 🤣
But come on. All food frozen? Might as well call your home a 7/11
may as well eat at the coffee club
🤣 stay at home mum doesn't have time to make fresh sandwiches. Maybe if she got a job and some extra money coming in she wouldn't have to be so friggin cheap

i am watching it because different people have different opinions
"I don't know about school today."
"Whaaaat?!"
"I think we should do something more fun."

As far as the Finances I think each one of them could give in a little bit and it would make a big difference in both of their lives
My mum freezes a lot of dinners because she does a lot of food but.. Sandwiches? That's crossing a line.. They'd be soggy :(
They don't get soggy, I promise, at least as long as you don't microwave them. Let them thaw in an oven before packing it for lunch, wrap it in a paper towel, and they're fine.
