      @@윤채은 agreed.. It's way too embarrassing to try and practice singing when you know that everyone can hear you :( I wanted to teach myself how to sing, because I sound bad right now, but I think I can do it with practice... but there is no location where I could sing around me.. I can just try with my normal voice (and I also need to whisper a bit) to make sure nobody hears me

      @Emilytea 4 года назад +249

      As for the latter bit... I think the reason why is that theres a lie and misconception that's common in (mostly Western) media that singing is some sort of deity-granted ability. It's sad, because if people try it and sound bad, they accept they dont have "the gift" and give up. When really, like most things, its just a skill people have to develop.
      It's pretty frustrating to be complimented on an ability as if it's luck or chance, rather than hard work that got you to that skill level.

      They are people that actually can't do the right notes when they sing. Don't want to sound dramatic but I don't think they will be able to sing with practice, they have bad ears from the beginning. Vocal cords are an important element in singing too, which explains why there are families where everyone can sing, it's genetic. I believe that if you have bad vocal cords and/or bad ears, you won't be able to sing no matter what.

      @@iminyourbucketlist113 Ear training is there for a reason. Your vocal range has limitations, of course, but it can expand a bit with training. Some have it easier than others, but even the most tone deaf person that exists can train their ears and learn to sing right:)
      Then there's the whole thing about voice timbre, which you can modify as well to some extend, but that's mostly personal taste. If the intonation and the phrasing is great, you can sing really nicely compared to most.

      Well, she is good in the beginning because she has already been learning to sing!
      If it was her first day singing, I don't think she would be as good as she is right now... So it's okay to be bad at first, don't let that stop you!
      The only way to stop being bad is to get good... And the only way to get good is to practice!!

      I went to singing classes for a while, and I noticed she doesn’t know how to sing. Which is really bad for the vocal chords.
