hi fwip, about the magic pond, this whole area is in a sunken between mountains, it resembles a caldera of a volcano, that pond could be a natural hot spring. A caldera is a remnant of a volcanic eruption when a lava chamber under a volcano collapses in on itself lowering the land above.

I think the blue grass might be cool, as you go deeper into the forest it typically gets darker in real life which will make for a really good mood and atmosphere, as you walk in and it gets darker as you go until it starts to lighten up as you approach the city gates.

  • @Realistic_Secret

Could have the pond be a natural spring where the water is pushing up out of the ground for the reason why there's so much water coming from such a small pond. Might be good for ideas for a build in the area since a lot of springs end up being popular spots for one reason or another.

  • @ConnorBrandt-vj5tw

Fwhip, to solve your spawning issues in the forest, you can place shroomlights, froglights, or any other light source under a moss carpet would light up the area. You could also do darker light sources light glow lichen.

One of the things I do with the "extra materials" from the big land clearing projects is "Mob proofing" areas around farms. All those little caves and voids the plague mob style farms? Fill it with the super extra dirt and stones. My thinking is your down there "torch spamming" to mob proof why not just use the extra materials; that you're just going to let de-spawn, to fill in the areas that can collect mobs... (Like under the terrain you make?)

The lore after the lake: In the ground there are millions of vertical channels, a kind of pipes. These are called "capillary tubes". Every time there is a downpour, the excess water drains underground through the capillary tubes. When it is dry, the same pipes transport the water to the surface, but in this case, the water stated at the surface and got more water from underneath (about the channels and stuff is a real life thing ;)

My suggestion for the colored grass problem: maybe use more small dripleaf? Iirc they can be planted on top of moss and it adds back the mossy green color you're looking for while still adding detail. Maybe this area is just a place where there are more weeds than most places. The only problem with this suggestion is that small dripleaf is a pain to get so maybe just have them in patches?

Obviously you don't want to load all the farms all the time, but loading one when you start a project might not be a bad idea.
