    I can confirm - your tip about the door lock actuator is on point.

    Use a straw or piece of flexible hose, fit it over the door lock pin to guide it and keep into place when re-fitting the panel, by threading the straw / Flexible hose through the hole from the bottom. 👍👌😎 good video!

      Great idea. I've been using zip ties. Or Gorilla brand duct tape. I'll try the hoser.

    Great video. Where did you find replacement clips for the door card?

      I grab pocketfuls of random door clips whenever I’m at the wrecking yard . Amazon also sells a big box of random door clips and pins

    Thank you for the video! Do you know what kind of door lock actuator should I get for the passenger side front door? I have a 99 W463. Thank you.

      Ebay.....I got a 2000.... had it for 15 years so far....Ebay for everything but be patient unless you really need it and confirm the part numbers.....its a labor of love but much more simpler than these electronic nightmares nowadays

    Help!!
    Rear door of my G55 won’t open with outside handle.
    I got it open with the inside handle but it was difficult.
    I took off the outside handle and everything works fine with that.
    But I did disassemble it and greased it up.
    But the screw head hitting the piece of metal does not release the door latch.
    I even used a screwdriver to push on that flat metal piece the rear handle button screw head hit and it does not even move inside the door when I press on it let alone reales the latch?
    I noticed the actuator is not moving the “finger pull door lock plunger” up and down. Does the actuator have anything to do with that piece of metal you pushed the screwdriver with?

    • @fupabox
      @fupabox  3 года назад +1

      Yes.. the locking mechanism ( lock pull Knob) locks out the door button on the outside handle. When in the lock position the inner handle will work ,but the outer button will just push in with no effect on the mechanism. I would assume something is disconnected between your lock knob and the door latch mechanism.

    My 2003 has plastic shell trim at the back of the window frame that overlaps the back-top of the door panel. It’s not necessary to take off, but it would sure help. Unfortunately the sun has weakened the plastic and I’m afraid to try and pry it off, I’m sure mercedes would charge me a couple hundred dollars for it if it’s shattered. I like yours better where it butts up to the window to trim. Trying to find a video that shows how to take that piece off around the window without destroying it. Any ideas?

    • @jasonkarriker3134
      @jasonkarriker3134 Год назад +1

      I just dealt with this today. That plastic shell trim can be pried off fairly easily with a panel tool / pry tool. I didn't even have to take it all the way off, just pry the botton loose up to about half way up the window.

      @@jasonkarriker3134 thank you for the reply! I do have the orange plastic trim, pry tools, but it almost feels like someone glued them on because I can’t get them to budge, and I am afraid they will crack or shatter.
      Did yours eventually pop away from the door frame? Or just slowly work away?

    Quick question pressure washed the motor in my G55 and now my code reader will not work I just keep getting the word “ERROR“ And it’s definitely miss firing.
    I would understand getting a coil, plug or injector connector wet but the code reader not working anymore is the big concern.

    • @fupabox

      wow that is weird. I would think the fuse or wiring for the obd (under hood fuse box) must be wet

    How often do you lubricator the window regulator? Is there a spray grease that would work?

    • @fupabox
      @fupabox  2 года назад +1

      Once every couple years should be good . You can use spray on white lithium lubricant.

    • @hazemgiballi

      @@fupabox thank you. And the thought is this will extend the life of the regulators, right? I’m not sure what their failure point is, but I don’t want to replace any more than I have to!

    Great video. I need to change my door lock actuator on my g63 front passenger. Once the door panel is removed is it hard to replace the actuator? thank you

    • @fupabox

      nope .. its 2 screws and a couple zip ties.

    Thanks for the video. When you did this, did you notice any rust in the door?

    • @fupabox
      @fupabox  3 года назад

      Not at all . I have heard it is an issue . I always spray a rust preventative( fluid film) into the lower door drains so it soaks into the bottom door seams and prevents rust .I was lucky and this one had none to begin with

      As far as I know only the memory buttons are actually lit up . There is a bulb in back of the switch for that . I'm going to be removing the door panel to swap a switch on the g wagon shortly and the seat controls are similar..ill do the bulb swap to show it
