  • Dear viewer,
    In this video I am showing you how the proper procedure to remove the driver's side AC vent without breaking anything. The process of removing the passenger side one is very similar, as the fastener locations are the same.

    What a gem of a video. I'm surprised in 20 years no one ever did a write up on this as these vents easily break with age and I'm assuming people would want to replace them. This needs to be a sticky.

      I was just as surprised as you are. Someone commented that the proper way to do it according to Mercedes would be to remove the dash, which I find to be just insane... I don't even want to think how much that would cost in a dealership. Still, happy to hear that the video helped you out.

    Good work with your G. I wrote up a DIY on the MBWorld Forum a few years back how to do this, but I recommended just breaking the rear screw bosses off since they're so difficult to reach. Good videos. Keep them coming.

      Thanks! Had no idea, but I have come across other people doing exactly that. Still, I couldn't believe that breaking off these screws would be necessary. I still don't know if this is the "official" MB way of doing this job, but it does work.

      @@EndlessMotorWorks the official way is to take out the dash. Which is just crazy to me.

    Great videos, helped me a lot. How have you solved the rear wiper switch as the new upgraded UCP does not have it

    • @EndlessMotorWorks
      @EndlessMotorWorks  9 месяцев назад

      Not really... the rear wiper does come on when the front ones are on and you put the truck in reverse so that's something at least. However, regarding the UCP, the facelift switch array that is meant for the W463 does come with a button for the rear wiper, so if you splurge and get one of those it will not be a problem. It is only really an issue when you use one that is meant for the W203, as the facelift ones have the rear wiper being operated through the stalk.

      It's something I got from a local store so no link that I can share. I am sure there are ton of similar ones online.

    Do you know how the other side could be loosened?

      Same principle, just need to remove the glovebox to gain access to the fasteners
