Amazon relay sucks. I have Amazon relay and they went down on load prices after December. I haven’t done any loads for them seen. They paying less than $2/mile. We have to pay for extra insurance for them but can’t give us good paying loads. Don’t recommend them!!

Tony...clarifying question from your video, I get that "Interstate Carrier" should be checked for question #22 (Company Operations) on the MCS-150; however, you mention Amazon requires "Property" and "For Hire" also. Does that mean "Private Property" and "Authorized for Hire" must both be checked on question #23 (Operation Classification) on the MCS-150? I'm questioning, because the definition of "Private Property" is "a company that transports goods it produces..." Please clarify...thanks.

I have a question, do you know why does Amazon is getting drivers that I’ve included as ineligible? Apparently all information is correct, but when a get a load and try to assign a driver, the driver shows as “ineligible driver”.
I’m just taking a guess here, but if your driver has run Relay loads in the past, their could be an issue with their metrics with pickups and deliveries. Other than that, I do not know what it could be.
They are rejecting application without giving any reasons

Amazon Relay only uses box trucks or semi trucks in their operation with approved carriers.

As long as it can pass a DOT inspection, you’re good. RelayApproval.com.
Is there anyway around the workers comp law here in California with Amazon can I sign a waiver if I’m the only employee for my company?
If California does not require you to have WC with your business structure and number of employees, then Amazon will not require it. No way around it if California requires your company to have it.

That's been my dilemma, trying to determine if I actually need Worker's Comp. I know it's not required in Texas, but I'm nervous about dropping it because I don't want Amazon to cancel my account. How do I go about getting a waiver from Amazon?

I just got my authority authorized for property and for hire like a day ago but I can’t get past the first section where they ask you input the dot number and my number but it saying I don’t meet one or more requirement. Even if if I have authorized for property and for hire
It can take up to two weeks, sometimes longer for Amazon to ‘see’ your numbers. Just keep trying, or send them an email using the Contact button at the top of the website. For those who need assistance with Amazon Relay, please go to RelayApproval.com.

Is there any way to get a load on the same day heading back home ? (Considering there is one available of course, even one that makes sense getting since is near home)
Because if those miles are only one way (loaded) whatever is left of profit will be gone on your way back home , right ?
Amazon says that they do compensate for the empty miles back to your starting location. That is perhaps left up to debate. One idea I teach my people is to get a subscription to the DAT Board for more opportunities to find a load back. You can try the DAT board out FREE for 30 days at TryDAT.net

What kind of cdl license required for amazon trailer ?

Hi Tony, I opened my DOT in 2020 and MC, but ended up not doing anything with the company up until now. I had to reapply for my MC and get updated with my mcs-150 form and everything else. My MC number shows two service dates 2020 and activated again in July 2023. DOT number shows active since 2020. Do I still need to to wait the 180 to apply for relay since my services date for my MC is July of 2023?

Hi there. Amazon looks at your current authority status, and looks back the prior 6 months to see if you have been active with no breaks. I hope that helps.
Quick question: Amazon relay now has a Dot number requirement that says it must be active for 180 days. Do they use the (MCS-150 Form Date) on the safer website to determine this? Because mine is dated about 11 months ago. I'm trying to see if i reactivate it would i still have to wait the 180 days

Amazon does require 26’ box trucks, however I have seen owners be successful with 24’ trucks…but nothing less.

Hi Tony. I am considering buying a trucking company that exclusively works Amazon Relay. I understand that Amazon now requires activie authority for 180 days. If I buy the company their MCS# will roll over to me and I will need to get a new DOT #. Can I continue to work Amazon Relay or would I have to wait 180 days? In other words does getting a new DOT # constitute a reset as far as Amazon goes?
Yes, the 180 days will apply with a new DOT#.
Amazon suspended me cause of my BASIC SAFETY SCORE. what do you think I can do to lower this score?
Amazon looks at the following BASICS:
Unsafe Driving below 60%
HOS Compliance below 60%
Vehicle Maintenance below 75%
Luckily, these are disqualifications with Relay that CAN be corrected for future consideration. The two ways to get better BASIC scores is to let them drop off organically over the next 2 years, or get more good inspections with no issues to get your percentages better.
You can do a volunteer inspection. That will help. And if you fail something they give you 72 hours to get I fixed with out being disciplined or get a negative score on your safety score
I’m from Minnesota. Workers comp is required. But I’m not hiring anyone I’m gonna drive my own truck. Do I still need workers comp

All MC is interstate, which Amazon requires. You can go to CarrierCheck.net to see if that is an option for you.

You can try the DAT board. Go to TryDAT.net and sign up for a free 30 day account. Use that free time to explore the board to see what that type of freight is like in your area. You can also use a freight dispatcher.

Your only recourse is to email them and ask for assistance. Sometimes, depending on the reason, it is only a suspension that lasts a few weeks.

Amazon performance rating is ridiculous compare to the rates they offer. also their route planning lacks intelligence and knowledge of traffic congestion, weather, terrain, and truck speed. They cramp so maney stops in their contracts without leaving time for the FMCSA required breaks and HOS rules. it is not worth the high insurance they require.
