Wonderful, in every sense of the word. A work full of wit and imagination, and a work for an orchestra to truly show what they are made of. The performance was obviously thoroughly enjoyed by Estrada, as well as the orchestra members, as well as by the audience, and most definitely - as well as me !
Boris was a very excellent composer - original, without being atonal or needlessly dissonant. How do I know when a work is very good? When I want to listen to it again and again.

I like this work of Blacher, I like the orchestra, I like the conductor, but I don't understand this orchestral positioning: First violins together with contrabasses and celli, second violins far away turning to the scene side. When we open the partiture we can see the composer choice is very different. Why then?
