  • A quick video on how I get gas/diesel when I'm at a 'regular' gas station (not at a truck stop with diesel lanes for truckers).
    This is a part of my CURV MasterTrack Class A training videos. See this and more at rvmasters.com!

    Dingbat sits there for ten minutes then parks, and you laugh. I'd be pretty T'd off. You, sir, are a saint. LOL

    Given the opportunity, I fuel at the truck lanes. However you may need to fuel somewhere that doesn't have truck fueling. I love your comment about not facing the store. I tell Newbies in RVs, always scout out your escape before you pull in. I try to fuel during off-hours.

    Best advice in this video "it is what it is", when driving an RV or towing its too easy to get anxious about holding people up. The reality is, take your time and let others "deal with it." Sure it may be a minor inconvenience to them but it's better for the driver to relax allowing them to make clear decisions when maneuvering :)

    Great helpful hints. What about low bridges? How does one plan on navigating and avoiding low bridges? Is there a navigation system that properly routes you to avoid bridges that would damage your RV. Not all bridges or over passes are the same height. So is there an application that will take your RV height and then plot a route to avoid bridges that will not allow clear passage?

    Very helpful. Have a class B now but thought about a d pusher. Not sure id enjoy navigating one though. 👍

    You training provides very valuable information. Do you know anybody that teaches you how to drive a large diesel pusher before you own one? Our state (TX) requires a non-CDL class B drivers license for anything over 26,000 pound GCVR. The issue is you have to learn to drive before you can get the license and you need the license to drive the coach legally. I've heard of people buying one and learning afterwards. I'd prefer to have the license and then buy the coach.

      Howdy! The general answer is no, but hope is not lost - you have options!
      I used to provide an RV for this kind of face to face training, but it turned out to be too expensive for everyone involved. I know it's not the same, but there is video driving training for RV's. Here is my suggestion:
      I know it's not the same, but I really would recommend my Class A MasterTrack training. I"m batting 100% on customer satisfaction and there's nothing like it on the market. I'll put my money where my mouth is, so go to my channel and check out "MasterTrack Lesson 1: Reference Points". It'll give you an idea of how I train, but it gets better: Once we're driving I show different camera angles, approaches, etc. It's only one lesson of over 65 lessons and walkthroughs. I cover driving VERY well, and walk you through the features and parts of the coach. I've found that driving is less intimidating when you also understand the "magic box" that's behind you - the sounds, movements, and parts that make it up.
      I know it's not the same, but after this training, I would go test drive an RV. They'll let you get behind the wheel and take you around for a couple of miles. Maybe do that at a few different dealerships. It's not so bad once you understand the basics like pivot point, tail swing, shuffle steering, and feather braking. And I demonstrate all of that very well.
      To be fair, there may be SOMEONE somewhere that's willing to provide the coach, but I haven't heard of it. Good luck!

      Thanks for the quick response. Yes, I've watched several of your RUclips videos and am subscribed to your channel. The ultimate problem is how do you buy a large coach and legally drive it without insurance or the proper license. I know some people do but that's just disaster waiting to happen. You'd think the large dealers would offer something to get your license before you bought the coach. Most don't even tell you what you need. You have very good information and training and I plan to buy your course.

    • @RVMasters
      @RVMasters  6 лет назад +3

      That's exciting! I know you'll love it.
      It is VERY common to buy a coach without a license, even if you need it. I'm not commenting on whether that's legal or not where you live, but as you indicate it's a little chicken-and-egg problem. The insurance will happen at least by the day you pick it up - it's part of the purchasing process.
      But yes, MANY people - if not most - drive off the lot with a $100,000 RV and have never driven one before and don't know how to use it. I used to sell RV's at a dealership and it happens every single day. Which is where the idea for my training came from! I looked for help and there wasn't any, so after 2 years, 44,000 miles, living in it, and 8,000 hours on the generator (that's massive boondocking right there!) I put together the research and did my homework to create the best training available.
      Feel free to ask anything else! Take care!

    I know it won't work in every case, but on our gasoline rig the fuel fuller is at the very rear. When I can barely see the gas pump at the edge of the screen with the backup camera, it's right where I need to be.

    What is a "C" store. Never heard that term. Are you talking about the "main" store?

      Yes, a c store stands for convenience store. So that would be the main store.

    What kind of diesel engine are you running in your class A RV & what's the maximum horsepower?

    • @RVMasters
      @RVMasters  6 лет назад

      I have a Cummins 300 HP, which is actually kinda small. But I have 660 lb ft in torque, so that kinda makes up for it!

    • @kevinmarshall5758
      @kevinmarshall5758 6 лет назад

      My Honda VTX 1300 Retro Metric Cruiser Motorcycle is low on horsepower but high on torque just like your class A RV Motorhome's Cummins Diesel Engine. Having higher torque means more pulling power in the lower rev range.

      I soon will be 60 and just bought a 30' RV. Absolutely NO experience with RVs. Never driven one before nor been in one til I went looking to buy 12 months ago. I did take a quick half day drivers course from a RV dealership. I plan on living in it fulltime. It was scary driving on the interstate but surprisingly easy in town and backed it in the driveway with no problems. Feeling of empowerment! Definitely going to be an adjustment but you can do anything you set your mind to. You can do it!

    Great videos but for your international audience, in Europe diesel pumps have black handles - green is for unleaded. Wouldn't want to pick the wrong one........

    Would anyone be willing to help me figure out why my built-in unleaded gas run generator is not working? I'm confident that it is a fuel problem. I can remove the gas line from the generator and use a pump to get gas from tank so it appears there is no obstruction in the line restricting gas from the tank to the generator. I'm also able to insert a gas line into a separate tank (red can) and the generator fuel pump works well enough to pull gas from red can to the generator (and generator runs fine). I even replaced the 12V fuel pump. However, this fuel pump will not pull gas from the RV tank to the generator. Could the fuel line from generator to RV fuel tank be restricted just enough that it can't pull the fuel for that distance? Thank you in advance for help.

    I do not know, or care how you get extra money for a video like this. As a camper, in a tent, and traveled this great nation I am appalled adjust how lazy, and stupid we are. My ten-year-old daughter, can fuel up my truck.
