Great video. Will be looking at any others you have on line.
I would suggest using your smartphone to record your chat, it would probably be better than sitting down writing notes. It would also let the conversation flow better.
Please can you come in closer to the document so we can read it? And can you use a bigger cursor or have a halo round it so we know where you’re clicking?
I know very little about my family history at present, so I would like to make a start.
I'm new to Find my past, have ancestors in Ireland in 1600's-late 1700's. No idea how to research, biggest fear is accidental disrespect towards customs of Ireland
We're pretty easygoing people, takes a lot to disrespect us. Just dig ijn and get started.🤣
Hearing you fine
I want a worksheet to get started
Hi Dennis, we have one available! You can download it for free here - www.findmypast.co.uk/blog/family-tree/family-tree-template
Hoping you can help me . I am trying to find information about my grandfather James Henry Murray - born 1899.in Ireland
I found this census info - what does SLIEVENISKEY mean represent ? Is it a city? Thank you in advance for any help you can provide to help me understand the info below
"
1901 Census
Residents of a house 20 in Slieveniskey (Upper Iveagh (Lower Half), Down
Murray Mary Agnes Female Daughter Roman Catholic
Murray Patrick 40 Male Head of Family Roman Catholic
MurrayJames Henry 1 Male Son Roman Catholic
Murray Mary Anne 25 Female Wife Roman Catholic"
Down refers to County Down. One of the counties in Ireland
Upper Iveagh (Lower Half) refers to a Barony within that county.
Slieveniskey is a townland within that Barony.
A townland is the smallest unit for civil administration in Ireland.
This is the most terrible tutorial I've ever watched.
