    Playing Satriani's rig and still sounding exactly like John Cordy and nothing like Satriani. Well done!

    Finally, a demo where the guitarist actually plays some Satriani-like licks. Thank you, thank you.

    I wish they'd included all the amps modelled without cab and mic. They sound great for recording but don't sound like a live amp when played through an FRFR.

    Man John that first thing sounds so BEAUTIFUL & POWERFUL. You hardly ever hear the combination of finesse and savagery. Satch would be proud. I noticed whatever you play it's always melodic and you build on basic thematic melodies,rock on

      Out of all of the signature guitars I have played, The Joe Satriani guitars are just the most comfortable to play. I have a JS100 and it is my favorite guitar I own. The only other guitar I have anywhere near as comfortable to play is my Charvel Dk24 Pro Mod HSH.

      The Satch tax is real from guitars to profiles but still cheaper than the Vai tax.

    Sounds great and you really tuned into your inner Joe! So Satch stopped using his sig distortion pedal in front of his sig marshall for live? That was one of the weirdest endorsements ever. Buy my $2000+ 4CH amp that I don't actually use other than as a pedal platform.

    • @damonstewart70

      I know right I catch all those weird details too. I tried his signature Marshall I didn't like it. I used to have a peavey jsx that was an awesome amp. Lots of string definitions

    • @jnh73
      @jnh73 5 месяцев назад +1

      Satch has been a fan of using digital in the studio for a long, long time. For example, on his album "The Elephants of Mars" he used a plugin version of Tech 21's PSA (Programmable SansAmp) to record all his guitar parts. Live it's still all about the tubes. ;)

    • @Chris_Nouvelli
      @Chris_Nouvelli 5 месяцев назад

      @@jnh73 I hadn’t realised that! Thanks for sharing. Yeh I absolutely can’t imagine him ditching the ol’ valves/tubes at any point. They can work in harmony 😁🤘

    • @joesatchton212
      @joesatchton212 29 дней назад

      @@Chris_Nouvelli Yes, the amazing sounding Elephants of Mars album was recorded by Joe without a single "real" amp - and it arguably is one of his "best" sounding records in years.
      He absolutely will NOT ditch his beloved physical amps and cabs, even while touring. It's just not in his DNA. However, Satch is smart enough to embrace and welcome digital tech in his world, realizing that it simply is dumb to view this world as an either/or situation.
      Why the hell not both? They're ultimately just tools, tools for him to make beautiful music. Little different from having tons of different screwdrivers lying around the house.

    Satch was a big inspiration as a modern guitarist for me growing up, definitely building on who came before (Hendrix etc), Always go back, although teens and early 20's was very much about metal...

    tube amps are wild beasts they are not computers you can never capture them. satch said that he recorded his last albums using only plugins...another good one lost to the dark side.

      He does use the plug-ins exclusively in the studio, but then he re-amps the tracks when he gets access to the amps he loves (owns them or borrows them).

    • @poulwinther
      @poulwinther 5 месяцев назад +1

      Makes absolutely no sense, sorry!
      Play in the zone with your tube amp, great and fine, BUT you can't listen to Satch doing that, unless you go to the show. You HAVE to record it to a digital media and in the ToneX case you can NOT tell the difference between what he hears out in the control room from the studio monitors, and what you can get through your own studio monitors. You can argue to the moon, but you just can't. Watch Leo Gibson's videos if you think you need proof.
      "Dark side" 😂😂😂 Gimme a break, lol

      Who the f*** cares? I GUARANTEE you’d never be able to tell which is my axe fx, or a plugin, or one of my 8 tube heads. Zero chance. You know why? Becsuse no one can. No one wants to put their money where their mouth is. I love how it bothers you that JS MAY have used plugins to record his record. Would you have any idea if he did or not unless someone told you this information? The answer is 100 percent no. You know it, I know it, we all know it. Cut the BS, or put your money where your mouth is.

      Even many who want to build their "own" sound end up with something very similar to their heroes.
