would you say the h264 codec is a better choice then the photo Jpgeg? the photo JPEG doesnt allow me to chose bitrates though. Wich codec do customers prefer?
Also why do chose for MP4 format? isnt .mov the standard and higher quality? or does that only apply when you shoot HD footage? when i look at top sellers they are always .mov format
Bear with me here, I'm making a few assumptions here based on my knowledge of how audio (MP3) compression works... I believe the reason for exporting at 1.4x bitrate is because every time you compress the video, you're introducing more compression artifacts. If you use the same bitrate, you're inherently doubling the compression noise. By using slightly higher, perhaps it's less noticeable, since the additional noise is less extreme than the noise already there in the first place? No matter what you do, unless you export at lossless or RAW, you'll TECHNICALLY be losing a little bit of quality. If anybody else has further knowledge on this subject I'd be interested in hearing it.
Dear Icelandic guy... very helpful information. I'm trying to start on stock video but I'm still dealing with rejection of the material because some shutter speed or bit rate issues are presented (but I don't know which issues since they don't tell... whatever) Thanks a lot. From some argentine guy. =)
Great Video!! What bitrate range should you choose in Premiere if your source media has different bitrates? For example if the source media ranges from 27 to 101 mbit/s.
Thanks for watching! If i'm doing stock video then I just export each clips in it's own bit rate. If one clip is 100 mbts I export it in ca 140 mbts, if it's 27 then I do 37.8 :)
Thanks for sharing your export but if you record a video 4k 10bit 10min you know the size file it’s so higher my question what’s your export for vlogin please
Thanks for sharing! Great Video!. I tried to put my Bitrate as you suggested but for some reason my slider bar for the bitrate max at 50, both target bitrate and maximum bitrate. Please help.
Thanks for the great video and valuable advice! Now I use these settings for video export as well, but I wonder if it's worth using ProRes or the weight difference of about 10 times as much is not worth it... One last thing: can bitrate values (x1.4 - x1.6) be approximate or is it better to enter values with exact decimals?
Cbr is also good but with vbr2 u will get higher bitrate ..but it will take more time to render so its up 2 you i quess and how powerfull is your computer:)
The 1.4/1.6 thing was the most helpful tip I've ever heard from exporting footage and I've been doing this 10+ years! Thanks man.
You are so welcome! :)
Finally, someone explained very well about bitrate! Thanks a lot, now I get it!
Nice tip with the 1.4 target bitrate!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience. Really appreciate it, man. 👊

Pretty sure this is just the container, it makes no difference in the data itself. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.
By the way, if you're exporting in HEVC, almost all the above settings no longer apply in PP. Just a heads up.

thanks for dropping a comment! Happy I could help :)
Thank You x 3!!! great, and very important info! Takk
Thanks x 1.6
@@chickenfriedfishin it sure is :-)
if it is 1080p bit rate is stuck at 50, and doesnt go up. what should i do?
yea 1080p can't go higher, at the moment I go with the highest possible in 1080p :) that's the best I know now
Hey thanks for all the infos..Software vs hardware encoding which you find best and why?:) also main or high profile for 1080p footage. Thanks

not sure my man, what settings are you using?
Finally ! Definitely answered ! Thanks for great video, really appreciate man :) Peace
This one was for you my man, better late then never (:
Nice man ... great info there ... and all done on a fantastic Friday night. Inspired me to have a Friday today ... on Tues;)
hahahah cheers!
i stock won't accept files except .mov ones. Don't you upload to i stock?
Ah didnt' know I upload to blackbox and have had great results wiith these settings :)
@@thaticelandicguy do you know if black box sell your content on istock?
@@CanberkSezer they dont
Except exporting all my videos in HEVC, PP limits me to max of 25 Mbps for 4K30fps, 40Mbps for 4K30fps and 60Mbps for 5K
Really helpful - bitrate is key it seems :)
Thank you man, really helpful video!
happy it could help you!
Have to save this link. Thank you. 👏👏🙏🙏
Super helpful.
thanks for the comment my man!
Hey man... thaks for this! Your tips are amazing.
Great video! Thanks for sharing!

I can't find the bitrate of my BlackMagic Pocket Cinema 4k RAW footage!
You're the real MVP
what about Quicktime format?
Thanks for sharing! Great Video!.

Thanks! So in FHD 50 is the max bit rate in 4K it's higher :)
@@thaticelandicguy Thank you for replying. So with FHD what is the target bit rate should be? That means the formula x1.4 doesn't work with this.

Why not use the CBR? Constant Bitrate?
if you shot in 6k do you still export in 4k?
I've heard that 2 pass is something similar to what they used to do in the old tape days and is therefore kind of pointless
Good Job !!! Keep going !!!
thank you so much :)
What microphone are u using in this video?
Thank you very helpful!
Happy I could help!
Any reason as to why you would not render CBR ? please excuse my ignorance? I'm just trying to start at this

Very usefull! Thank you so much!
Thank you too 🙏
do you export & upload clips in 4K, although you recorded them in 1080p?
that's no longer recommended as far as I've heard.
Great video!
thank you!
Why lots of footages on shutterstock are in .MOV although you recommend to export in .MP4?
i upload all my clips to BB and they recoemnd mp4
Subscribed! thanks!
thanks you too!
What kind of edits do you use on your stock footage? Is it alright to use LUTS?
No. I'd suggest you don't use LUT. That way, you allow whoever buys the footage to express their own creativity.
H.264 or ProRes?
