I was diagnosed in July 2017' ended up having chemo, right mastectomy & Radiation. I had my family for support but mostly my oldest sister that went to almost all the oncologist appts & most of my chemo. We always said we were learning as we went and now we have learned even more since she was diagnosed last year. Surprisingly neither one of us had the kind of breast cancer that is genetic. We essentially had the same kind of chemo treatment, same amount of visits etc. We had side effects but neither of us were sick, I had side effects we thought were kind of strange & then when she had it she had different strange things. It's all so weird when you are going through it sometimes it's hard to explain how you feel. She finished her chemo & it worked so well all she needed was to have a lumpectomy where the tumor used to be & a lymph node & it all came back negative. We are so thankful that we both came out of this so well & I know you will too. Neither of us used wigs even though I had one that looked so much like my original hair. We jyst used little caps that were so comfortable. You do whatever feels right for you & don't worry about your kids. When I was going through it my sister's grandson was 2 & he never mentioned anything to me except one time he said "I like your hat" when I had a new one & when my hair was starting to grow back he said good job 😂. He is now 8 & his brother is 3 & they have both done well with the changes that have affected their "Gigi". She has been able to do all the things with them that she did before which was a lot. She keeps the youngest for a few hours 3 days a week & is working part-time towards retirement. You will do fine & you're right to not listen to the horror stories, they don't mean to be unhelpful but they are. You will definitely have people tell you good things. I had a few people tell me they had stage 4 cancer 20 years ago & you will have strangers on the street give you blessings. There are so many kind people out there who will along with me wish you well. Sorry so long ..... I have been watching you before you had your first child & still worked in the school system 😊. Take care of yourself
Thank you for letting us in - I can only imagine it’s not easy for you as I’ve been following you for years and you’ve never done this, I’m sure I won’t be alone in saying I really enjoy your getting ready / makeup routine and health updates ❤ sending you hugs 🤗 from Texas
Your positivity is contagious! Everything you are going thru and still smiling. Hugs and prayers going out to you! Also Happy Mother's day to you, hope you have a great day!
I have a terrible chronic illness, and I will say that if you start to feel bad, a medical cannabis card is your best friend. It really makes almost every symptom that you can ever imagine having feel so much better. It just takes away such an incredible amount of suffering. So just know that's in your back pocket if you need it ❤ I even often take it at a subpsychoactive dose, and that helps my symptoms even though I don't feel high. Of course that only really works for mild symptoms. But it is nice to have that option for days that aren't quite as bad. You're doing great! And everything is going to be okay.
the most important thing you can do is keep that positive attitude going. You are doing great as far as that goes I just had my first mammogram since being diagnosed, it was completely normal so I am one year cancer free. I’ve been praying for you and your family. It’s a long journey, but worth it. Katie
My co-worker has alopecia and she couldn't do the fake eyelashes due to her eyes being super sensitive. Instead, she tight lined her upper water line with eyeliner and smudged a darker eyeshadow on her top lash line to make it look like she had lashes. I could never tell she didn't have lashes, it worked. Praying for you and your family. Your a beautiful person. Happy Mother's Day 🎉
You are so beautiful inside and out. I’m praying for you. Your attitude and great outlook is going to really help you get through this. May God redeem and restore your body. Amen 🙏
Continued prayers for you Jess and your family🙏🙏 I love your personality and you are so beautiful inside and out. Loved the tutorial! Have a beautiful mother's day💗🌻🌿🌷💐
Praying for you daily. You are handling your diagnosis with such grace. Stay positive! By the way I loved your makeup video. Basic and easy and you looked beautiful!
Just want to wish you all the best and even though I don’t know you I feel like I know you from your videos and just makes me cry to see you, but in a happy and sad way to end I just pray for you and everything will work out you’re a strong, beautiful womanthat can do anything. Good luck tomorrow and happy Mother’s Day.
I’m so happy to hear that you’re you’re going into this with a naïveté positive attitude. It’s best to keep it that way. Like you say it’s ok if a bad day happens one day and deal with it when and if that day comes. Nothing is worse than being upset and anxious and wigged out over something you don’t know will even happen to you. Everyone is different. It is well documented and researched that positive attitude and mindset is very powerful in medicine. The good news is that each week is one down and one less to go ❤. Before you know it you’ll be done with it and onward and upwards to whatever comes next for your treatment plan. You are certainly amazing. Don’t worry about eye lashes or brows and such there’s so much to be used. Do you know if your cancer center has the beauty clinic benefits available to help you with your beauty questions. Where I live they do and the women love it. They also have the cancer patients spa services that give massages and such dedicated to easing and pampering your body during treatments. May be worth looking into. Thanks for the update and see you soon ❤. Prayers for you always
Thank you for sharing your vulnerability and honesty. The courage and strength to be in public with struggles is so inspiring. You are touching hearts world wide. ❤ I can only imagine how amazingly proud your loved ones are. Your productivity mindset and inner strength is a beautiful thing to witness. Thank you for allowing us to be apart of your life.
Thank you for sharing your bright light even when you are going through something so hard🙏✨️ I am praying with you for whole and full healing. No ones journey is the same and you know your body and it can do amazing things! If you are open to it, it may be helpful to include a counselor/therapist in your treatment plan. You are an amazing mom, wife, daughter, entrpreneur etc. Sometimes that means having to put on a smile when you are sad or scared. Being able to release those feelings to a confidential third party can be emotionally healing Thank you again. You deserve the best!
You have an awesome attitude. My niece had brain surgery a few months ago and is having a lot of fun with the wigs she purchased. Prayers for you and your family.
I remember people sharing their bad stories with me too. And I just wanted to surround myself with encouraging. Positive people. I was diagnosed with stage 4 in 2020. I had my 6 month scan on Wednesday...& I am still cancer free!!! You've got this girl!!❤❤
You are such a gift to your followers! Brave, beautiful wife, mother and child of God. As we watch you, even in this awful situation, you inspire. Thank you sweet Jess. Prayers for your healing❤
LOVE YOUR POSITIVE ATTITUDE!!! It really helps. As a 10 year survivor as of yesterday, I can't wait to see how you style your wigs and hats. Hats are fun. Even as my hair grew back and I really didn't need the wigs, I still wore them lol. They were better than my pre cancer hair. Sending you love and light from New Mexico.
You look beautiful! A great GRWM! So happy you have not been too ill, and praying that continues! Continuing to pray for you and your precious family! 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻
I love your channel! You're so authentic, and I have to say I love this format too. It's so personal, and not just because you're sharing your journey. My best friend just went through her breast cancer journey at 60 years old, and I'm convinced that her positive attitude, sense of humor, and positive outlook is what got her through it so gracefully. I pray that you will have more good days than bad, and that even in the bad times, you will always feel God's arms around you. I am continuing to pray for you! Thank you for being such a beautiful person!
Hi Sweetheart, glad you are venturing into new territory, I should be fun! Stress is breaking you out ….don’t sweat it, we love you! I’m going to enjoy seeing you experiment with make up. :).
My best friend went through treatment for anal cancer last year and her positive attitude helped tremendously. I dont know if I could have been as positive as she was but she made it.
