Great video ; wish it was longer? I use that exact tool to scribe in my stools and I have protractor made by I think “ 1491 Tools “ don’t quote me on that? It give cosine cut off angles, all my degrees for cutting crown on the flat it a great tool for I think $40. I always look for those great tools under a $100 . I found a Starrett marking punch for metal or wood on sale $40 ? I bet I hv marked a thousand holes for pre drill with it & it fits right in my tool belt perfectly!
I had a whole lot more footage but my sound was all messed up so I had to edit a lot of my talking out . Yah I love a good unique hand tool that you find a specific use for!
Wow that’s unfortunate I don’t have any other tools by them but I know there quality was always top notch they were always known for having the best combination squares.
@@kinfolk_carpentry I have my dad’s combo 12” square ! It’s so worn (he was a home builder in the 60’s thru the 90’s . I can not even find the name ? But compared to my 6” Starrett it’s an exact match even the “Made in the USA”! I am guessing it’s 50 plus yrs old?
Looks good.
Thanks for sharing!
You bet!

Good stuff….like to see it used on crown molding
The next time I do some crown I’ll have to show how it come into play !
Nice
Starrett was recently sold to a private equity firm. Their quality is about to plummet as their financial engineers milk this company into the ground.
Well guess im better off to buy a 12” combo square before they sell a 12” combo wonkle

Basically an expensive bevel square. A speed square does the same job for $12.
How do you get the miter cut of an outside corner with a speed square?
