I am a 3rd generation from Glendale ca and I have learned lots of disturbing things about this city... Some from Klan members children that i grew up with. My family is Mexican by the way but my family looks more Spanish so they were ok to live in Glendale at the time. My family first moved to the city in the late 50's. First off I had a friend who lived in the oldest part of the city known as Adams square. They were renovating his house in the mid 80's and when they removed the wood floor in the living room to replace it they found a huge tiled swastika underneath placed in the middle of the living room. About 12 feet square. The house was built in the late 1800s. Interesting fact that the American Nazi Headquarters had its main office in here in Glendale on Brand Blvd until 1986. That's crazy.. Also many of the KKK rituals were done up in one of the canyons. I don't want to name which one it is but hangings, murders, and other horrible deeds were done their. Glendale somewhat covered up the area in the 1960's turning it into something else and basically burying any evidence.. So nothing to see here... Later on the Klan and others would move activities up towards the la crescenta area. Lots of other stuff but another time and another place.... Plus it all so depressing...
This is laughable! Create an anti black racism LAW/CRIME BILL if you want to do something. Who exactly are y’all informing? We lived it and are still living it. Black ppl are well aware. I’m sure any black person can go to this town and within an hr will understand what’s not said. We don’t need words we need protection and tangibles.
We used to live in Glendale in the early 2000s. Most of our neighbors were Armenians but we also had Korean, Chinese, Filipino and Japanese neighbors. Come to think of it, now that this subject came out, we never had Blacks or Hispanic/Latino neighbors.
I was born in Glendale in 1959 and grew up in that area.I never saw any racism ever.why talk about this ? I’m 1/2 white and my mom is Asian/hispanic .she never mentioned any issues growing up in that area.
Yuup can't change old folks as long as they not hurting ppl let the feel what they feel. There's nothing in those towns ppl want anyway. Blacks just being used by democrats and affluent whites to disturb theses poor whites who may or may not be still racist.
San Diego county has also had sun down towns. We had klan meetings held on Oceanside Camp Pendleton marine base up to 1977. We also had John Metzger, a well known grand wizard, living in fall brook.
As long as racists won’t move on from the fact that racism is dying , black people shouldn’t. Still flying confederate flags and displaying swastikas like a bunch of idiots!

If you walk on Brand Blvd you can see swásticas on some of the light poles.
