Growing up this song was the song I credited with starting the prerequisite drum solos at most rock concerts. That's my recollection. It was the most innovative era in rock and the greatest era as well. Nothing can beat the late 60's and 70's for the revolutionary standard in rock music. Here's proof !
We had a light fixture by our stereo when I was 15. My oldest brother Bob would have beer 9:00 parties on weekends and his buds would stop over. We'd jam to this tune and when the drum solo came on, I would use that lite fixture as a set of drums. Great memories. Thanks for sharing! R😮 I P. Jeff Scroki.
I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED THE FULL VERSION ON THIS SONG! THANKS FOR PLAYING IT Bob Levin!!!! ✌ ♥ It has been many years since I have heard it, way back in the good ole days of Peace, Love and getting high! :-) Brought back MANY good memories, Thank You sir! 🙂
Our older sister a teenager in the mid late 60s had all the music of the day I was 6, 7, 8 years old and loved it all Beatles, Monkees all of them she had this Album and we jammed it as kids her younger siblings. I decided I was gonna be a drummer I love that solo. Sorry to say I didn't do so
Yeah I always felt cheated hearing chopped up versions on the radio. I'd have to say it was the best thing they ever did. How they could go from this to a song like "flowers and beads", is beyond me. 😂
Der Song bleibt für die Ewigkeit, bestes Trommsollo aller Zeiten
This song is very important to me. I grew up listening & re-listening to it. I love it.
I normally shy away from drum solos but this one has a groove that pulls you right in. Never gets old.

I had no idea the LP sold that many copies!
Rumor has it that Ron Bushy laminated his set for the distinct sound he achieved. Amazing!
