Thanks for this detailed video Angie. My husband is a realtor and I like to make personalized house warming gifts for his clients after they buy a home. Everything doesn't always have to be about money. Sometimes it's good to invest in something that you can use to bring someone else joy...a little smile, or some comfort. Cricut makes being thoughtful easier. At least for me anyway.
Let me tell you, your videos are the only ones that explain things to me properly. Your concise step by step tutorial is extremely helpful. Thank you!!
Fantastic video. You speak so plainly so your tutorials are really clear and very helpful. Thanks Angie! Ps...your hands and nails look like mine and other real crafters...paint...ink..other stuff, no long distracting nails, thanks!
I tried this on 100% Cotton. It did transfer but after I washed most of the ink is gone. I tried it on polyester cotton blend and it was okay and it didn’t wash out as much as the 100% Cotton. My best result came from a no boundaries shirt ( 92% polyester and 8% spandex) it did not wash out. It still looks as good as the Cricut blank shirt.
Thank you for the opportunity! I would like to raise money for my community that was hit by a tornado a couple months ago, and I feel that the heat press would make the process flow better in the different items we make and sell to give back to the community.
New cricut user here. I just bought the joy.. looking to get the explorer air 3 next. Your video was very clear and easy to understand. Thank you so much. 💓
Hi Angie, you just got yourself a new subscriber. I just recently got my new Cricut Maker 3 and as a beginner (even though I've been a crafter almost all my life, but in a different direction ... Miniatures and Dollhouses) it was hard to find out what I could do with my machine and especially how to use all the available materials and tools. Your videos are soooo helpful, so thanks so much for everything you do. I found tons of videos but only subscribed to your channel and to Jennifer Maker's, that all I need to get going with my Cricut. Hugs from Germany ❤️
Angie Baby!!! Love ya. Thanks for this. I love your clear, precise instructions, no extra stuff, right to the point so I can go get my craft on! Thanks for all you do.
This as such an informative video, thank you so much for lending your expertise. I just purchased a Cricut Maker and a Easy Press 2 and I can't wait to get started.
Your videos have helped me so much since I started a month ago with my Cricut Maker. I think I am ready to give the Infusible Ink a try. My only question is can you use other blanks besides the Cricut ones.
Thanks for the hands on look- I have done some shirts, but really needed to see the pens in action. Very good video presentation too.. I’’m ready to jump in and use the pens now...👍🏼😁
Late to the party, but so glad I found this video! Question: I saw a video where someone used multipurpose paper [for both laser and inkjet printers] and it looked like it came out great. Can multipurpose paper be used instead of purchasing laser printer-only paper? Many thanks!
Thank you for this video. I just got my first Cricut Maker and Easy Press. I am having a blast. But after watching this video I now know why my transfer sheets did not work on the apron I was making. This was of great help.
Thank you for answering a question that I had about butcher paper. I wasn’t sure if it was the same as parchment paper or freezer paper and now I know thank you. Also you said that you used laser copy paper for the infusible ink pen. Can you use plain printer paper?
The copy paper just needs to be able to withstand heat. My regular printer paper says on the back of the back that is is okay for laser printers and that is what I use.
I have a question regarding where you moved the "waves"...if you didn't get it exactly right when placing it on the infusible ink transfer, can you move it again, or is it just "stuck" at that point (as in...be careful when placing...LOL)
Great video. You did an amazing job instructing this. There are just some out there when I need a tutorial and they just talk so much extra stuff that by the end, I am like, wait, what did she say or just totally confused. I subscribed and definitely will be coming to you for the how to videos for sure!!! Thanks again!
I really enjoyed your great instructional video especially for me that's totally new to this. I have a question on the difference between using butcher paper and parchment paper. I bake and use parchment paper a lot I will be following your other videos too. Thank you, Patti
first of all, let me thank you for your well-explained videos. I've watched A LOT of vids recently trying to figure vinyl/ htv and infusible ink out and yours are very watchable. My question is this- can I layer HTV on top of infusible ink? I want to make / draw an icon onto a canvas tote w the ink and add a name over the icon in HTV. Is that possible? Ty
I have done it. You do run the risk of the Infusible Ink fading once heated a second time. Usually with HTV it does not. Be sure to use protective paper though as you might get ink on your press.
New to Cricut, love your videos. Bought it to make stained glass patterns, but see endless possibilities. Regarding infusible ink. I've been asked to make a couple of T-shirts for a breast cancer golf outing auction. I've got the design I want. My question is: I have an older dry mount (heat) press with an analog temperature setting, going only to 350 degrees. The infusible ink videos I've seen use 400 degrees. Can I use infusible ink at a lower setting for a longer period of time? If so is there a magic number or way to determine how long (say at 350 degrees)? Thanks for any help!
Amazing video! I got infusible ink and cricut coasters for a birthday gift. Sadly, I've been too intimated to try it. I have a question, would it be okay to just use more butcher paper instead of the white cardstock? I'm worried about the cardstock burning up.Thanks for sharing!
Your video is extremely helpful - thank you! Just did my first infusible ink project and it turned out great! You answered a lot of questions I had going in to it, so thanks for being so through with the info and process!
Hi there Angie! I have a question about Butchercpapercand Parchment paper. On some videos they say to only use Butcher paper in the mug press, and others says you can also use Parchment paper. I am a little confused. Is it OK to use Parchment paper in the mug press? Thanks so much! Susan D.
Infusible products ARE available at Wal-Mart. Idk if they were not previously but they have been since I found out about infusible ink and that was a year ago. Saw it in Walmart on an end cap and had no idea why these t shirts and onsies were so special and what the ink was. Just a fyi bc although I like Michael's, a medium white woman's v neck t-shirt for infusible ink was almost $3 cheaper at Walmart.
Is there a working time with the infusibles? Can I batch create a bunch of items, then take them to a friend's house who has an easy press or will the ink be too settled?
I have a cricut. Let me just say that I got it in may and I still havent even attempted to use it. You can now get the infusable ink at Joanne fabrics however I did not see anything to use it on. Also they have a whole isle dedicated to rolls of vinyl. Is that what it's for? To put vinyl on your shirts? That's not even cool or trendy
I want to put a design on a 4x4 canvas bag. I was going to use a mini press but what should I do to prevent the ink from going to the back. Will putting butcher paper on the inside resolve that?
What an excellent video. Thank you for taking the time to go through all of the instructions as well as the product information. One question... can you use Parchment paper instead of butcher paper? Thank you again!! I sincerely appreciate it!! ❣❣❣
I like what I see here for card making however, my cricrit is an older version. I don't have internet connection so, can i still make cards like these & how Thanks Karon
When you say butcher paper does it matter if it's waxed on one side? If not, which side do you place down waxed or unwaxed? Please help! In Canada we don't really have this kind of paper and I don't want to spend $40 if I don't have to! :) Thanks!!!!
Hmmmm. Good question! The type we have here is not waxed at all. Do you have parchment paper? I think I would give that a try before spending the extra money.
No. You have to buy the transfer sheet as it is a special ink. You can see more about using this on mugs here: ruclips.net/video/UFZvMY3OG30/видео.html
My cricut is cutting all the way through (only some places tho) the infusible ink sheets on default cut. Why is that? Thanks Angie in advance and for the video.
Infusible Ink can be tough. Each color is slightly different in thickness because of the way they apply the ink. This can lead to cuts that don't go all the way through and cuts that cut all the way through the backing. I would recommend doing a test cut.
Why did u put the butcher paper first and then card stock on top when you did the coaster? And the card stock first and the butcher paper on top when you did it on fabric?
I would say it would work sometimes and other times it wouldn't. I will also say it depends on what size EasyPress you have as the larger one is super heavy and I just let that one sit a lot of the times. The small one is light and I always press on it.
Hello thank you very clear video , I’m new at this I’d like to make a label for my granddaughters uniforms I do not have a printer can I still make them with infusible ink
You can definitely wash! If used on polyester or Cricut brand clothing, you won't see fading. If use on cotton or another surface, you will get a bunch of fading. Hope that helps!
Angie! I so enjoyed your video. Thank you for breaking things down into easy to understand and follow directions! I’m now subscribed to your channel. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with next!♥️ THANK YOU!
I tried this out today on a Gildan shirt that was 50/50 cotton and polyester and it worked just fine. I haven't washed it or anything yet but it seems to look promising haha
Thank you Angie for explaining this, I have a sublimation printer, but I might have a play with this infusible ink. Thanks for sharing this with us 😊 With the small pieces left, can you use that in the Joy?
Can we use infusible ink transfer sheet on areas already with htv? I tried to put black htv over reflective htv, but it was washed away with just one laundry. Wonder if I can use infusible ink to reflective htv? Thanks
It will work with other blanks as long as they are polyester or you have a substrate made for dye sublimation. Try Coastal Business for those. There are a ton out there.
I am going to try that in the future. You could only do small designs however as it is one press only. I would turn it all the way up and go by the time for the EasyPress 1.
Does not work unless your iron is perfectly flat and does not have any rivets in the bottom. I did it and the image has the pattern of my iron in the ink. While it looks like it was on purpose, it ruined my shirt.
Well, the shirt wore out way before either one of the materials did! I did keep washing it and the HTV started to crack where the Infusible Ink still looked great.
I wouldn't recommend it as the ink gets on the butcher paper and you have to toss it or it will get on your next project. A Teflon sheet would be expensive to throw out!
I have the Cricut and just seen this video on the infusible ink. I was about to order the Eason Eco printer but do I need both? Is it cheaper one way or the other? New at all this.

thanks for sharing! soon as she said it was only cricut shirts my excitement went down!
Raquel Orr where can you find the t-shirts that we’re 92%?
Sandy Christman I got them from Wal mart. It’s the no boundaries brand.
This is not what i’m expecting. I thought it’s good on any shirts until you mentioned it. Thanks!

Your videos have helped me so much since I started a month ago with my Cricut Maker. I think I am ready to give the Infusible Ink a try. My only question is can you use other blanks besides the Cricut ones.
You can use sublimation blanks or fabrics that are at least 65% polyester.

Late to the party, but so glad I found this video! Question: I saw a video where someone used multipurpose paper [for both laser and inkjet printers] and it looked like it came out great. Can multipurpose paper be used instead of purchasing laser printer-only paper? Many thanks!
Correct. That is what I am using. It just needs to say it is okay for laser printers or copiers on the package.
Thank you for this video. I just got my first Cricut Maker and Easy Press. I am having a blast. But after watching this video I now know why my transfer sheets did not work on the apron I was making. This was of great help.

Did you make the video of the shirt after being washed several times? If so what is the title? I can't find it.
I never did it as the shirt material looked horrible before any of the products did!
@@AngieHolden that's such a bummer! do you have a recommendation for a shirt that would do well with the infusible ink product but hold up better?
Infusible products ARE available at Wal-Mart. Idk if they were not previously but they have been since I found out about infusible ink and that was a year ago. At the time of the video, it was only at Michaels. The shirts have to be polyester but otherwise you can use any shirt.
Thank you! That's great to know because I REALLY enjoy having fun with these and the whole line of options
Is there a working time with the infusibles? Can I batch create a bunch of items, then take them to a friend's house who has an easy press or will the ink be too settled?
Yep you can! I once made a bunch of things and wasn't able to press the for DAYS. I was worried but they worked just fine!
Heat transfer vinyl does go on shirts, yes.
Creative memories call their covers Bookcloth. Would the infusible ink work on that?
I am not sure. You would have to see what actual material those are made from.
I want to put a design on a 4x4 canvas bag. I was going to use a mini press but what should I do to prevent the ink from going to the back. Will putting butcher paper on the inside resolve that?
I would put a piece of white cardstock on the inside.
Can I use a regular household iron to transfer so I don't have to purchase the easy press?
I am not sure it will work. I am planning on doing some experiments and posting a video soon on that.
What an excellent video. Thank you for taking the time to go through all of the instructions as well as the product information. One question... can you use Parchment paper instead of butcher paper? Thank you again!! I sincerely appreciate it!! ❣❣❣
I don't recommend it as parchment paper holds in heat while butcher paper releases it.
@@AngieHolden Thank you very much for your stock reply!! 😊😊😊
I love your shelving in your room.
Thanks!
I like what I see here for card making however, my cricrit is an older version. I don't have internet connection so, can i still make cards like these & how

I am not sure! I don't have any experience with those older machines.
Hi there Angie, Do you have to use only 100% polyester to use Infusible ink ??

No. You have to buy the transfer sheet as it is a special ink. You can see more about using this on mugs here: ruclips.net/video/UFZvMY3OG30/видео.html
AWESOME VIDEO!!! you explained it very well and can't wait to buy the new ink!!! Thank you. Im new to all of this and loving it❤

My cricut is cutting all the way through (only some places tho) the infusible ink sheets on default cut. Why is that? Thanks Angie in advance and for the video.

I have a Cricut air. Is it possible to cut the infusible ink sheet with this machine. Mainly letters that need the middles kept in.
Yes.
Why did u put the butcher paper first and then card stock on top when you did the coaster? And the card stock first and the butcher paper on top when you did it on fabric?
There are instructions for each surface on the Cricut website and I was following those.
WAY less intimidating now that I’ve followed you through this, thank you
You can do it!
Is there any reason why you didn’t put the easy press mat inside the t shirt like you did for the tote bag? Just wondering
If I didn't put it inside the shirt, I meant to! Yes you would put it inside.
So if i heard correctly. U can use infusible markers/pens on plan copy paper and transfer just like tht???
Plain copy paper😆
Yep! Just make sure the copy paper is rated for laser printers so it can withstand the heat when pressing.
Do you have to add pressure when holding the press? Can't the weight of the machine be enough?
I always press down on it as well. Extra insurance!
@@AngieHolden have you ever just let the machine sit on it without holding it and seen what the results were?
I would say it would work sometimes and other times it wouldn't. I will also say it depends on what size EasyPress you have as the larger one is super heavy and I just let that one sit a lot of the times. The small one is light and I always press on it.
Hello thank you very clear video , I’m new at this I’d like to make a label for my granddaughters uniforms I do not have a printer can I still make them with infusible ink

Thank you so much!
Would this infusible ink work on album covers like Creative memories covers?
Gosh I am not sure. Would you know what material they are made from?
Does the color/material fade when wash it or can you wash when making cricut clothing?
You can definitely wash! If used on polyester or Cricut brand clothing, you won't see fading. If use on cotton or another surface, you will get a bunch of fading. Hope that helps!
Angie! I so enjoyed your video. Thank you for breaking things down into easy to understand and follow directions! I’m now subscribed to your channel. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with next!♥️ THANK YOU!

how did it turn out? have you washed it yet?
Angie Holden can you use parchment paper for this part at 14:04?

Angie Holden thanks for getting back with me.
Thank you Angie for explaining this, I have a sublimation printer, but I might have a play with this infusible ink. Thanks for sharing this with us 😊 With the small pieces left, can you use that in the Joy?
You can use the small pieces on a mat in the larger machine as well!
And the cotton shirts they sale in hobby lobby does it work.
No. It has to be at least 65% polyester.
Did the video on the washing machine test ever come out? I can’t find it
I ended up doing a more comprehensive one here: ruclips.net/video/vo4y-g1z2HY/видео.html
Can we use infusible ink transfer sheet on areas already with htv? I tried to put black htv over reflective htv, but it was washed away with just one laundry. Wonder if I can use infusible ink to reflective htv? Thanks
I don't think it will work. It will work on glitter HTV and some flocked HTV products.
@@AngieHolden thanks for your advice

I don't think so but I have never used that brand.
What can you use besides card stock if you use a heat press.
I like Artesprix protective paper.
so it only works with Cricut easy press and blank products? Will it work with a heat press?
It will work with a heat press. Not sure about other blanks yet!
It will work with other blanks as long as they are polyester or you have a substrate made for dye sublimation. Try Coastal Business for those. There are a ton out there.
Janey Layman what about an alternative for coaster blanks?
@@KaileyB616 Coastal Business has those too. I'm sure there are other places as well, I just use them.

Great lesson!Thankyou! I am a just learning
What were the results of the wash test for the hearts??? Would love to know...
Well, the shirt wore out way before either one of the materials did! I did keep washing it and the HTV started to crack where the Infusible Ink still looked great.
Just wondering, you say to use Butcher paper, would a teflon sheet work?
No! The ink will get on the sheet and ruin it! The butcher paper is great because it is disposable.
@@AngieHolden Thank you!
Can you use Teflon sheet instead of butcher paper?
I wouldn't recommend it as the ink gets on the butcher paper and you have to toss it or it will get on your next project. A Teflon sheet would be expensive to throw out!
I have the Cricut and just seen this video on the infusible ink. I was about to order the Eason Eco printer but do I need both? Is it cheaper one way or the other? New at all this.
It is the same basic thing. You can start with Infusible Ink and move up to sublimation later if you like it.
How can I find the video of your washing machine test result? Thanks
I finally finished a HUGE comparison: ruclips.net/video/vo4y-g1z2HY/видео.html
Did I hear that the infusible ink can only be used with the Explore Air and Cricut Maker?
Any machine should be able to cut this. Do you have an older machine?
Polyster/cotton blend shirts work. Polyester needs to be higher than 90% though
Definitely!
What would The time and temperature of invisible ink on a tumbler press?
I would use whatever is suggested for sublimation for the tumbler you purchase.
