Hi! This knot is also called "Rustlers Hitch" and is commonly used be seaman because you can fix your boat on the working end at shore and release the knot with the other end from the boat, if you just make the "release end" long enough, so that you can grab it while still on the boat. This is sth one handed sailors absolutely need and this is why this knot is so common for them.
Great video. How about splicing an eyelet onto the end of one of the ropes in your display and maybe a figure of eight knot to create a loop on another? So many different knots and treatments for the running end of those ropes.
Probably woulda been easier for you to demonstrate if the pipe had been stationary (in a fixed location) instead of free to move around, requiring you to hold it still with your hand.
Different ways to tie this knot but my way, as soon as it is pulled all is in front and nothing is in back to catch on anything. Is mine better, no, but I like it better.
I have always admired how craftsman (mechanics, etc.) have the knowledge of tying various knots in their work.

I've watched 3 other videos before this one, and not one was actually followable. Yours was. Thanks!
This is so beautiful knot. Thank you.
Loving these
Great knot!
Are you going to do a tumble hitch too? It's basically an all around better version of this knot.
Better how? I'm actually asking because I looked at a video of tying the tumble hitch and it seems quite a bit more confusing to tie.

Very cool

the 3-bight hitch, won't be forgetting that one any time soon. :)
Did you include TWO clove hitches on that wheel? Janky indeed.
One of them is constrictor knot which is little different.
Add a toggle through the last loop and that would keep it from collapsing, and it would still be quick release
