Not sure I would build this tool, but amazing to finally see someone on RUclips that actually paid attention in metal shop! Vacuum's up chips instead of blowing them all over the machine and shop, breaks all sharp edges and tightens up all three jaws on the chuck? Color me gratified!
I would say by the wobble the two are not concentric. next time put the whole assembly in the lathe when you make it. It may save you some broken endmills in the future. especially if you want to put a somthing tiny in there. Happy machining.
Happy New Year first and for the MAN who operates the lathe i want to tell that i really love and appreciate your skills, hat off to you sir❗️ We watch your videos with much interest, we love your work A LOT...
Definitely runout. If all the taper setup was is going by the angle scale on the machine then I’d bet the taper isn’t very close to the collet spec. It’ll do for what he does I’d guess. Also, not the first person to ever make one.
It's nice and compact. It's nice if you are pressed for space on a tiny mill when doing tool changes or not enough Z like on my hobby mill. I can see it.
Ah...ER collet holder. And shell mill Little long stick out You are a great machinist I may just buy Haas Old school dog hear I need one for my 8 x 36 Sheldon Good job
I've been designing machines for 47 years. Patents are almost useless these days. It takes a $million to defend a patent therefore whatever you have must make multi millions to even justify a patent, and even when the patent is challenged and resolution is reached nothing happens. Utility patents are skirted around by the slightest redesign. I'm not really sure what's patentable here, any unique feature is easily skirted. If you patent it yourself and do all the work yourself then it is probably worth it, but good luck enforcing it.

I don’t know. He spent 1-1/2 hrs making an ER collet holder in a 3-jaw chuck. Probably with .002in runout at the tool. But if he bought this quality tool from China for $9, he’d probably be dissatisfied.
I can sometimes be found in my shop late at night in my red plaid pajama pants and crocs. First time I saw one of your vids, I laughed out loud. The safety police can have a moan about it, I don't care.

Check the runout with a DTI on the end of the end mill it looks like it`s about .015"/.4mm

It could be handy on my mill that has limited travel.

nice work
Thank you very much for watching and welcome my friend!
For those who did not get it, I’m sorry. He made an adapter to fit the R8 shank so he could use ER32 collets. A shared tool..
That's right my friend! Thank you very much for watching and welcome my friend!
Non avevo dubbi, fai solo cose ottime, buon anno!
Thank you very much for watching and welcome my friend🙂
Awesome product however may not be able to get patent because of public disclosure it is considered prior art 👍👍👍🙏
True. Once an invention/design/whatever is in the public domain it can't be patented.
Thank you, my friend!
You beat me to it. I am a patent attorney.

For christmas sake, clean those damn drill bits. It would drive me nuts to use a drill with rust on it.
What’s the runout when you switch to the endmill/ er collet. I guess I’m not sure what the benefit is.
Ah...ER collet holder.
And shell mill

Good job
My collet chuck and shell mill have their own arbours do i dont teally see the point.
hello can we turn a metal drill bit into a strawberry? if so could we see it on video please thank you
Welcome
Those spindle bearings sound aweful when you spun it by hand with the indicator on the material.
It's not the bearings, it's the gears, as I'm spinning at speed, not neutral! Thank you very much for watching and welcome my friend!

I think I’ll go buy a 150,000.00 dollars worth of shop equipment so I can make one😂😂
😂 Yeah... because without a doubt that is the exact and only reason he has a fully equipped shop. He did it JUST to make that collet/adapter.

They already sell ER to Morse taper collets
Na frézování se to moc nehodí. Je to příliš dlouhé. Nechápu naco je to dobrý.

You can't patent anything that is the public domain, so publishing this prevents it being patented.
Thats correct. If you want to get a patent, dont publish it. File a patent application.
What is new's?
I can buy an er collet chuck balanced to 12000 rpm for 25 quid
The tool has a lot of runout and less rigidity, because you made it very long
Welcome!
It's made not for tool. He made it just for video and monetize from RUclips.😊😊
