I bought mine new in 2009 and upgraded to APR supercharger in 2015. I think APR sold ME THE LAST supercharger they had and it set me back $17,000 installed. There isn’t a day goes by it doesn’t put a smile on my face. I still look back at it after I park. I still get buy offers from strangers at gas stations and car washes. Love the car!

If you have spoken to Richard then you would know that the supercharger is a Rotrex which uses a traction drive gearbox. The traction drive requires the oil as the drive medium, there’s no mechanical contact in the gearbox. Without traction oil the supercharger won’t turn. I have the same supercharger kit installed, although I have upgraded the Rotrex unit supplied with the higher flowing C38R supercharger. There is a bit of extra work to use the C38R.
I do love a B7 RS4. They look so right, just enough chunkiness without looking OTT like the latest cars do. Correct seats too. It’s a fab colour too. Mileage shouldn’t be an issue given the age.
Probably the last best RS. Amazing car. Maybe a repair kit on the supercharger would be enough. Also this engine needs to be manually cleaned, this FSI generation has a some issues with calamine. Great car, nice project
The other factory extras were dash phone holder, TV tuner and electric sunroof. Also heated front and rear seats , rear side airbags and NAV. The steering wheel and seats were also extra. At 120k, it will be down 100bhp without the supercharger. It will need a decoke and new or serviced injectors. You may also find leaking shocks which is common and expensive so coil overs best route. Best looking and driving RS4 by far.
They only came with a glass sunroof with a plastic internal blind or the solar panel one that runs the fans when it is sitting in the sun, both use the same opening size, which is just over the front seats. The B8 and on have the larger roof.
It's Dean's passion for these that has me (again) looking at buying one, despite the wife pointing out every reason why we don't need one..... Not sightly broken tho, those are for everyone else....

That is awesome the rumble when you started it up was unbelievable, I could just imagine flooring that going past a load of parked cars and setting the car alarms off or in a multi-storey car park

That’s the best car you’ve bought so far. Beautiful. Been in the audi world for years and I’ve never heard of TTS super chargers so it’s def NOT the most common.

Great content ....Recently I have heard of a number of issues with B7 RS4's with TTS chargers. This I think is down to lack of maintenance on the charger but also drawing high power from the engine tends to stress cylinder 4 more than the other cylinders and a number of TTS charged RS's have blown due to cylinder 4 running too weak mixture . Injector flow must be checked in these motors
I've loved these ever since seeing the red saloon version driven by Clarkson on Top Gear, all those years ago. Would have loved that car on those roads! All the best with the rebuild, am sure it will be a beast when it is done. Hope you can get the replacement parts ok!
Perfect car... wanted one from when they were first released... may still get one and supercharger it. Cannot wait for this project 👍👍 MRC are the boys for Audi... remember when they were getting going tuning S2’s, S4’s, RS6 and RS2.

Now then Dean what a lovely car. I'd save the money pull the supercharger bits off and have it bog standard. This is one of my fave modernish Audis it still looks fabulous. I know you'll fix the supercharger, and it will be awesome, my only question or point is, why keep the ropey b8 never mind the "new" s3 you bought ursen? This is a much better project than the other RS4 which I have found a little monotonous to watch, progress has been slow, although not your fault, but nevertheless tedious to watch. Looking forward to seeing you repair this new car.

Oh that noise! I'm in love 😍 should do a walnut blast on the intake and get rid of the buildup as it can seriously restrict power on those.
If the supercharger kit has meth injection carbon build up won't be a problem.

The B7 and the B8 are great cars, and you're an amazing mechanic. Keep the good content coming.
