- Want to know how to install Hydro Turf into your boat? This video will give you some tips and tricks to installing hydro turf and vinyl into your boat. Weather your doing a jon boat to bass boat conversion, or want to trick out your tiny boat, hydro turf has become a popular application to replace carpet.
Recently, the Tin Can Crew came together for a 4 day build on Jon's 16' Deep V jon boat. We used all 4 days to turn this jon boat into a tiny boat. For anyone wondering, I DEFINITELY recommend paying for the 3M backed stuff after struggling with applying adhesive myself. The material warped after absorbing the contact cement and my carefully cut sections no longer fit right.

Hello, I'm curious what if anything you used around the hatch framing as far as a covering? i.e. vinyl around the frames of the hatches? hydro turf? nothing?

These were powder coated lids, once installed to the framing it was covered with hydroturf. The inside lip of the lid was wrapped with a car door trim

What size is the Hydroturf in duck camo if I'm ordering using the link for the $139, since there are two sizes listed on the page and $139 appears for a color noted on the smaller size as well, just looking for clarification. Thanks
Hey Ted. Duck camo is 47x86, along with all of the other colors EXCEPT yellow, blue, red and snow camo. Those are smaller sizes. They are actually "jet ski" coloes
Do you seal the seams of the turf? Maybe som Lino sealer or clear silicone?
How much should I be paying for aluminum sheets? I’m finding a huge disparity in cost? And I don’t want to get ripped off, but also dont want to get something that is terrible and won’t work. Also, I didn’t see any links for your hatches? Thx. DT.

We sell it at our store for $200-ish I believe? Id have to check on that. Locally you should be able to find it cheaper, but either way, its still really expensive in my opinion
Hydro turf stated "Not For Boats". WTH? I have a boat I leave in the water. I'm looking for something that will hold up outside year round. I painted with gray bed liner paint but love the snow camo.
Does this foam decking stick to wood? If so what prep is recomended
