What is everyone bitching about? This is the best tune i have heard from the Pumpkins in years!
That's what I'm saying! Just played it for a bunch of friends and everyone was into it. I think the haters are the minority for sure!
They are just guys who dont have clue of what is good or what is not anymore. This song is simply too good. Their complains are laughable.

I bought Oceania on the whim after hearing an interview with Billy Corgan on the radio. On first listen there weren't any real standout tracks, but I found myself playing the CD over and over and over again in my car. It had a great mature sound, Billy's getting old, but so am I, and I like it. I'll be getting this album next time I'm at the record store.

Could you really say maybe this song sounds more like the pumpkins of the 90s then say maybe all the songs he has released lately is just a different version of the pumpkin spirit in different musical territory? Not trying to sound like a smart ass but that's what all the other albums of 2000 have been the pumpkins spirit in another musical territory

Tommy's playing has been always so powerful. I love that snare and toms sound. By listening this I can imagine him in my mind playing hard.
This blows Being Beige out of the water. I didn't dislike that song, but this is exactly what I wanted. I love this

Holy shit. This is what I need from Billy! Watching all the Mellon Collie concert footage from 96, made me sad because Being Beige was not.....good.
With all the times I keep clicking replay i'm worried i'll grow bored of the track but I just love it more. The killer in Billly is the killer in me.

I'm actually really enjoying hearing a difference in Billy's singing. Also the guitar riff just flows so nicely and has a touch of melancholy. Really looking forward to this LP. All in all I really like Teargarden by Kaleidyscope so far.
SP is still holding their own in the graveyard that is music in our times. I am going to continue being a subscriber to Mr Corgan's vision as we hopefully sail into a better future.

This song ROCKS. Harks back to his Friends and Enemies of Modern Music era.... with a polished twist. I love it.
Judging this completely unbiased from a historical standpoint on what the Pumpkins have done, this is definitely a good tune. Being Beige was middle of the road for me, but this is a step in the right direction. The most impossible thing for a band to do is continuously parallel old material- I respect the decision to move forward and will continue to admire good music, not just the tunes that sound 'like' the older ones.

Everyone's complaining as if the album was some kind of personal order just for them. Pointing out all the things "wrong" with it. In reality there's nothing wrong with it, its the artists vision and if you don't like it then simply don't listen to it. IMO this song is just right for what it is.
As long as I like the song it's all that matters. And the more I listen to it the more and more I love it.
This sounds great I love the riff and the drummer IS TOMMY LEE! Just heard Billy on Stern and he is still a cool dude! Talks straight and means what he says so refreshing these days of Production Stars and POP Puke with out meaning or soul! We need a rock revival IMO! Solid track!
I think what really brings down newer Pumpkins music is Billy's singing. Listen to classic Pumpkins material and he mixed his mid-tone singing with very soft and often whispery highs which is what really shaped their sound and feel. Take 1979 for example. Now Billy's singing is just one-note. This song in particular would have been so much better if he went to those soft vocals in sections but it's just samey throughout even through the chorus.

Billy has always stuck to his guns, not making many friends along the way. He's still making evolving music not doing Nostalgia rock like the rest of his former contemporaries. I am happy to hear this and the plenty more (for years to come) that this devoted guy has to offer....keep up the good work buddy!

TheH3dgie and bringthedarth are responding based on their own subjective tastes, mistaking them for fact and superior taste. Nodahanshin444 was bothered by TheH3dgie's sense of importance which was simply as a result of misinterpreting his own subjectivity. In response he offered a passive agressive response. Bringthedarth decided that it was unfair that TheH3dge should decide what good music was and insulted him by questioning his hearing in order to make his distain for this point of view known. Then other like minded people came along and approved of these people's thoughts.
And then some out of the box thinking weirdo came in and explained what it is to feel no need to engage in such stupid shit.

I could not agree more. If anyone wants to hear the truth, no matter how bad it hurts, they need to go to infowars. Everything the man says can easily be researched. I would trust the news crew at infowars.com before I would trust ANY of the sellout news actors in mainstream media.

Let's face it, it's always been the quality songwriting and not billys voice that's the strong point.
Billy is probably one of the most talented songwriter's of our generation, Sadly his voice has alienated many people.

What he has is natural talent, most people are lifeless training or autotune.
thats great, most great rock singers have voice you either hate or love, instead of the generic sounding popular singers today
Are you kidding me? You can't judge someone's voice on a scale of "good" or "bad" like that, it's a matter of preference. SP wouldn't be who they are without BCs voice... It's the right voice for this band.
His voice is pretty much the only thing that sets SP apart from other rock bands... You've gotta love it, otherwise you're not really a SP fan...

First of the new stuff (since Zeitgeist) that I've listened to more than once. Though I miss Jimmy, this has the characteristic Pumpkins guitar sound I love.
Well, personally, I'm loving it. The sound does take me back a little bit, which I like - that good old warm and fuzzy sound. Sure, I think it sounds a bit like something that should have been on the Aeroplane Flies High b-side box set. But that's just all good! :)
