Lots of people getting the time order mixed up here. At the time of the ferry-incident, they were not 'at the hight' of success, they were penniless nobobies. They had just been signed by the record company, but even hadn't had 1 single out. Amsterdam was supposed to be a showcase for the big wigs of Sony, a super important gig, but they never got there. The interview was taken shortly after. But by the time this charted they were huge already. Check James Hargreaves' channel, he's got the full story of that ferry-trip, including the drinking, fighting, stealing champagne and... forged 50 Pound notes. It's a real treat!

Every so often the UK music industry becomes "top of the charts" bland shite. Then these mad bastards come along and just go, fuck it, I'm having it all. All the booze, all the drugs. Fuck it. The Beatles, The Stones, the Who, Sex Pistols, Zeppelin, Oasis, etc. They are normal nutters become super gods. If you are there at the start to see it, it is glorious. The UK had a nation of "lad cuture", drugs, drink, apathy, desperation, hope, disappointment, football etc. Normal lads a nation became fascinated in making iconic songs that have a place in normal people's hearts. Pretty Mental. Live Forever.

It's brilliantly entertaining and gives a fantastic insight into the basic relationship between the brothers and what was to come.

Bit of background on this it was their first ever gig abroad in Amsterdam. The band got smashed in the van on the way down. Loads of West Ham on the boat on a pre season away game. There was a bit of a scuffle with And a few of them got locked in the hull and sent back. Noel went and got mashed in Amsterdam with the bands kitty. Although released in 96, the interview was in 94 just before Definitely Maybe as they were coming up. But as they got massive the recording was released 2 years later.
For the record, I’m with Liam all the way. The songs were great, but Noel doesn’t realise it was who they were and how they were that made them great. We identified with them cos they seemed like lads off the estate who made it, and decided they were going to have a great time. It’s what we all wanted to do if we were in their place. They were the real deal and we loved them for it. Noel still doesn’t get this, and after he sacked all the original members it’s no wonder that attitude was gone

Because it forced Liam to change his attitude towards performing and in fact, change his way of living for the better. *Wikipedia says:*
*"Wibbling Rivalry"* is a single released under the name "Oas*s" by the Fierce Panda record label in 1995. It is a recording of John Harris (working for NME at the time) interviewing brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher of Oasis in early 1994, on the verge of their commercial breakthrough. The interview is famous for featuring a violent argument between the brothers over an incident that occurred a few months prior in which Liam incited a drunken brawl onboard an overnight ferry to the Netherlands, which resulted in the entire band (apart from Noel, who was not involved) being arrested and deported. The title is a play on the expression sibling rivalry with the word wibble.
The single contains a 'Liam Track' featuring predominantly Liam's use of profanities and a 'Noel Track' featuring Noel. *"Wibbling Rivalry"* holds the record as the highest charting interview release in the UK, reaching number 52 on 25 November 1995.
The single's cover features English underworld figures Ronnie and Reggie Kray.

To an extent the things Liam said and did back then both attracted people to the band and caused a lot of people to look at them as knobheads... once you start letting the fans down by canceling gigs etc i think people didn't at the time see that as cool or rock n roll! Spending hard earned cash... people just wanted them to keep it going and sort their differences out to keep the music coming and wanting to see them live!
I loved Oasis for years then at some stage i got bored of the drama. But in the last 10 years or so i got right back into the music i guess cos nothing has come along as good as Oasis since; partly cos it was a time and place thing (90's was great for music)

I am also an irish manc & can confirm this is fucking normal. Me wee brother & me had a massive fight, turned my back & heard rather than felt the horse whip on my back. Then felt the blood start to trickle, just looked at the kid & he went 'oh fuck', ran upstairs, locked himself in the bathroom which I kicked in & battered all 7 shades of shite out of him. Best mates now.

And the funniest thing is even today on Liams Twitter page he is still having a go at Noel on his Twitter swearing and insulting Noel and he’s wife and kids Lol. and that there uncle to lol. That’s Pretty bad. Liam just doesn’t give a f*ck. 😂🤣. also they’re not talking like this because they come from a Irish family. This is a normal thing in Manchester and the country. Lol

Noel is just typical older Irish brother !! Just keeps at younger brother ..why tf did you do this? Look at me see how I act I'm right your wrong ....blah blah ...😆 Sneaky feicer .. always putting damper on younger family members ....sibling rivalry..and both pure stubborn guys ..neither will back down!! But Noel things superior as eldest ..☘️💯

Hey dudes, you claim in the video liam is making the big bucks now cause of his concerts and noel is trailing behind because he only focuses on the now less lucrative recording of music. There is reason for this. Noel is far richer. He wrote the big tunes. It is estimated he is worth around £70 million, Liam is worth less than £15 million all in. Noel can't be arsed.
