I saw the legendary Marilyn Horne sing this at her final classical recital in 1999. Loved the piece ever since.

The teacher/student relationship is such a personal experience but clear communication and effective demonstration are central to positive learning outcomes. Key to this is meaningful feedback via praise and criticism that is specific - platitudes like “cool” and “awesome” don’t cut it. The student must always be the focus - not the “star”. Had I been this student I would have left the stage to allow the “star” to do what she clearly wanted - to be the star centre stage - so I quit the video at 13 minutes. Hope the student went on to achieve his ambitions but, if he did, it will have been through his own efforts and the help of better teachers.
