similar movies to taken and man on fire is Ransom directed by Ron Howard staring Mel Gibson, Rene Russo, Gary Sinse and Delroy Lindo. Such a great film.
Don't know if they're still on the tube but back when this movie dropped there were tons of fan made music videos using man on fire clips and almost everyone would reach a crescendo, the music would drop out to let walkin deliver his lines, then pick back up. One of the best speeches for sure
I will go so far to say that the academy felt guilty for not giving him the Oscar for this one that they gave him the Oscar the next year for training day.
This is one of my favorite movies, the books are good. But the level of controlled rage that Denzel is able to portray as John Creasy, is breathtaking. Like Rayburn says, "A man can be an artist, in food...whatever, as long as he is good at it. Creasy's art is death, and he's about to paint his masterpiece..."
He have so many that I love, but those are certainly two of his finest. Don't forget American Gangster, Mo betta Blues, Malcolm X, The Equalizer, so on...
Everybody talks about Training Day but to me his best role was Malcolm X. He definitely should’ve won an Oscar for that role. I think it’s because Malcom X was such a controversial figure that people tend to overlook this movie but his performance was stellar!
The broken soldier sacrificing himself for the innocent is such an action movie cliché but this film proves why if done well it can tear your heart out. The fact they spent half the movie establishing their relationship and the incredible chemistry between Dakota and Denzel is what elevates this above a generic action movie. You believe every decision Creasy makes because you know her life was more valuable to him than his own.
The crazy things about this movie, Pita literally loved Creasy. Like a woman loves a man. He was her first love. NOT a crush. LOVE. He loved her too, though not the same way. It's such a traumatic movie, but I can't help but cherish this film. It makes me cry hard, every damn time, yet I watch it again and again. There is a magic to it.
Denzel has so many amazing films. Some of my favorites are this one, Training Day, American Gangster, Flight (personal favorite), Fallen, Equalizer 1 & 2, Unstoppable, John Q, Courage Under Fire, Philadelphia, Malcom X, Glory.
Loved ya'll Reaction to this 🎞 . Here's some Denzel Washington Movies; "Ricochet"(1991) "John Q"(2002) "American Gangster"(2007) "The Equalizer"(2014) Marc Anthony also did great in; "Hackers"(1995) "The Substitute"(1996) "El Cantante"(2007) with Jennifer Lopez
As the video went on Toy got more and more stressed and Hannah got more and more excited for violence. You both need to be examined by a shrink. I adore you! ❤
Denzel goes off in every performance. Training Day is a different character, Book of Eli is wild, Remember The Titans, and most definitely GLORY, he won best supporting actor as a youngster
I remember watching this when it came out…it’s an entirely different experience all these years later now that I have kids. I can’t imagine the mom’s shock and gratitude to have her child back from the dead 😭
I love it because it's the last thing someone told him on Earth, "I love you". ❤️ given that he had fallen into such despair earlier in the movie he wouldn't even have considered himself lovable to anybody. Even the subtle reaction he has to it shows you Denzel understood what that meant to the character.
Denzel's best movies: "The Equalizer" (2014) w/ David Harbour, Chloe Grace Moretz "The Equalizer 2" (2018) w/ Pedro Pascal "Fallen" (1998) "The Taking of Pelham 1-2-3" (2009 remake) w/ John Travolta, James Gandolfini "Glory" (1989) w/ Matthew Broderick, Morgan freeman, Carey Elwes, Andre Braugher
I've seen all Denzel movies and most of them are great, but this is my fave Denzel movie. Very emotional. Here's a man who has nothing to live for and is ready to die when a little girl brings him back from the dungeon and shows him life can be great. Then she's taken. Yes, you want him to paint that masterpiece.
This is probably my favorite Danzell movie followed by the Equalizer movies. Is is very hard watching movies with you guys. Mainly cause it so hard keeping the eyes from .always veering off and focusing on Hanna. 😊 Til next time Ladies. I hope you guys have a Great Weekend.
Thank you Ladies. Great reaction. Denzel is my favorite actor, this is one of the best. Also that actress Dakota and Denzel is sharing the screen for a second time in Equalizer 3. Of course she's much older now.
One part of this movie that I never understood was when the Voice makes the deal with Creasy, saying "A life for a life. I will give you her life for your life, and the life of my brother." I'm curious why Creasy didn't respond with...."I'm sorry, but maybe you forgot that I not only have your brother, but I have your wife and your unborn child also. If family is as important as you claim it to be, then perhaps we need to renegotiate that deal."
The version of this that I originally saw had a few extra minutes. Most notably at the end, we find out Creasey died from the bullet wound and 2 seconds later the "charger" bomb he had in him goes off and blows up everyone in the car.
Denzel is amazing in Deja Vu, Glory, 2 Guns, Inside Man, John Q, Remember the Titans, Courage Under Fire...all of these are absolutely worth reacting to.
The real John W. Cressey was a former Black Operations Specialist. He was involved in some very nasty business the left him feeling he was doomed to hell in the afterlife. Peta showed him it was okay to live again. He killed 19 people in Mexico City to find her. He finally died of his 7 bullet wounds. Peta and her mother returned to the states. John Cressey and Denzel Washington were both good, honorable men. Rest in peace Mr. Cressey and Rest in Peace Denzel. You will both be missed.
Fallen, Remember the Titans and Training Day are my favorite Denzel Washington movies. His son John Washington did an amazing job in the movie BlacKkKlansman
My 1st time on your channel. Your reactions were interesting. I love this movie so much and your reactions were good and sweet enough that I'll check out some more Run to the Movies. Thanks.
Some movies of Denzel Washington i recommend Glory (1989) Malcolm X (1992) Philadelphia (1992) The Hurricane (1999) Training Day (2001) American Gangster (2007) Fences (2016)
My favorite movie of all time thanks for reacting.. This movie was just cast brilliantly, of course Denzel and Dakota but man every supporting actor nails it. The mom, dad, reporter her boss, then all the famous/talented Hispanic actors in this from the head of la hermadad to the voices brother, all absolutely convincing in their parts.
I always loved this movie because Dakota Fanning at this age looked JUST like one of my nieces that I'm very close with. Like they could be twins so I immediately empathized with the character.
Off the top of my head. I would recommend, "The Equalizer." Danzel Washington plays good upstanding guys very well. A close 2nd place, as far as acting is considered, "Training Day" was a stretch for his acting. However, there is an inappropriated role in, "Fallen." I hope you get to watch them all.
"I'm a professional" Yeah, Denzel. That line would get on my nerves too. 3:18- No relation to Murgatroyd. 18:41- Eff off!!! 28:59- Eff all the way off with that.
I remember the first time I saw this movie. I was still in the USMC and deployed to Afghanistan. Your title is very fitting, this movie is heartbreaking. I also hope you do a reaction to Mortal Kombat 1996.
I think I first saw this movie a couple years after it was released on DVD. Somehow I ended up with the DVD even though I was only like 13. It felt really good watching equalizer 3 all these years later and having Dakota and Denzel together again.
No action movie has ever gotten me emotional......until i saw this one. It absolutely broke me! Since Tony Scott sort of brought Denzel and Dakota together on the big screen, and sadly passed away back in 2012, Antoine Fuqua the director of The Equalizer franchise, that also stars Denzel, knew about how many fans of Man On Fire were destroyed over them splitting in such a sad, brutal way,so they decided to bring them back together for The Equalizer 3,with Dakota all grown up. Im thinking as a tribute to Tony Scott and as a gift to fans of both Denzel and Dakota. I recommend you watch all 3 of The Equalizer though, they just become better and better. BUT,my main suggestion/recommendation would be a highly underrated but brilliant movie, with much of the same subject as Man On Fire: Proof Of Life (2000). Starring Russell Crowe,Meg Ryan,David Morse,David Caruso,Pamela Reed and many more.
So much fun watching a movie I love with you. Seeing your honest, heartfelt reactions is special. The Equalizer movies display Denzel Washingtons character building skills very well also, hope to watch them with you soon.
This movie is very realistic for the times. Mexico while beautiful is no joke when is comes to kidnapping, we even had to worry about express kidnappings for a while as well. And us light skinned mexicans are a high commodity to the kidnappers as well.
Book of Eli is my favorite this one is a close second. at the end of this one remember the other charger he had? guess what he had planned for the voice... boom! No more bad guy.
The original film from 1987 was also pretty good and had a fantastic cast. It's set in Italy and had Scott Glenn, Danny Aiello, Jonathan Pryce and Joe Pesci.
Some of my favourite Denzel movies: For Queen and Country, The Mighty Quinn, Ricochet, The Pelican Brief, Philadelphia, Virtuosity, Devil In A Blue Dress, Courage Under Fire, Fallen, The Bone Collector, Hurricane, Remember The Titans, Training Day, John Q, Out Of Ti.e, Manchurian Candidate (remake), Insise Man, Deja Vu, Book Of Eli, Safe House, Flight, 2 Guns, Equalizer (remake), Magnificent 7(remake) was okay but the original was much better, Roman J Israel Esquire.
Love your reactions Hannah and Toy! Denzel has sooo many excellent movies. Training Day is a must. One of his best performances and most underrated movies is Crimsom Tide starring him and Gene Hackman...great!!
He didn’t “make Samuel kill himself”. He let Samuel kill himself. He truly felt sorry for Samuel. Creesy does in fact have humanity. He is not just assassin. Hannah, I’m not so sure about. She scares me.
29:19- That's what you call the REAL explosive diarrhea. 31:10- Well, the butt explosive guy was more Jackson Pollock, than Van Gogh. 31:14- There ya go. Creativity

My favorite Denzel movie is The Taking of Pelham 123. Besides Denzel, you also get a great John Travolta performance.
"War"(2007) with Jet Li & Jason Statham
Devil in the blue dress is a great Denzel Washington movie
similar movies to taken and man on fire is Ransom directed by Ron Howard staring Mel Gibson, Rene Russo, Gary Sinse and Delroy Lindo. Such a great film.
How do you end the video without showing the conclusion of the movie? Beyond idiotic.
“Forgiveness is between them and God. It’s my job to arrange the meeting.” Is one of the greatest lines ever written.
He must've been a US Marine.
Right up there with Wyatt Earp's "You gonna do something, or are you just gonna stand there and bleed"
"Creasy's art is death, and he's about to paint his masterpiece". never has a more justified revenge tale been told.
This is a movie that people can call "underrated" that's actually underrated.
I couldn't agree more.
Your underrasioning of there underrasion is underrated.
I prefer the original with Joe Pesci
Really? Most Denzel fans have Man on Fire in their top 3 or at the very least top 5. John Q I think is criminally underrated
@candacelong7643 no they don't
“He’s about to paint his masterpiece.”
“I wish ….. u had ….. more time.”
Christopher Walken has my favourite line in a movie ever. When he is in the hospital and talking to the reporter.
Don't know if they're still on the tube but back when this movie dropped there were tons of fan made music videos using man on fire clips and almost everyone would reach a crescendo, the music would drop out to let walkin deliver his lines, then pick back up.

For me this is his best movie.. It's one of my favorite movies of all time.
I will go so far to say that the academy felt guilty for not giving him the Oscar for this one that they gave him the Oscar the next year for training day.
"The Book of Eli" is another great Denzel Washington movie. Also "Flight", "The Equalizer", "Safe House" and the obvious "Training Day".
Book of Eli is on another level . Hit the right buttons & Mila Kunis , Gary Oldham & all cast are excellent
Cry Freedom

This is based on a book? I will have to check that out
It’s my favorite part when Christopher walken is like don’t worry about it I was up anyway. That’s a true friend!!
Agreed. I think that he figured out that Creasey was in a bad place mentally and was going to support him, whatever it took.
John Q, was another great movie starring Denzel Washington
One of those movies that if it doesn't hit you directly in the feelings, you're probably not actually human
Yeah. This movie stays with you long after you're done watching... Thanks for watching with us!
"Training Day" and "The Equalizer" are his finest!!
His presence and his charisma in a movie is brilliant, reminding me of a younger Clint Eastwood!!!
Yes! I could totally imagine Clint Eastwood in this role.
He have so many that I love, but those are certainly two of his finest. Don't forget American Gangster, Mo betta Blues, Malcolm X, The Equalizer, so on...
@@RuntotheMovies Facts. Clint would be great in this role also. One of the original tv tough guys.

Not sure it’s my favourite but shockingly underrated. Amazing movie.
Flight is an underappreciated banger of a movie.
This is his best movie. If this don’t move you to cry you don’t have a heart . She done and amazing job as well
The original Man On Fire (1987) with Harvey Keitel is pretty good too. Much less violence and not as emotional. Set in Spain, if i remember.

One interpretation of an "Eye for an Eye" was that it was meant to limit punishment, keep it proportional to the crime.
