As a child I couldn't wait for Saturday when you had TWIB, NBC Game Of The Week, Pro Bowlers Tour on ABC & WWF wrestling to wrap up the day. Great memories!
Mr. Shorter, me and my buddies watched the same programs as much as we could in 1982. Man, I miss the simpler days of the late 70's and early 80's of sports shows. None of us had cable and the early days of the Entertainment and sports programming network. sometimes I wish I could drive the Deloren back to 1977
All of it great. Except ... and I mean no offense here ... not a big fan of the wrestling. But if you combined bowling and wrestling, you might have something there. Ah! Yep! Saturday mornings! This Week in Baseball! Bugs Bunny cartoons. Massive amounts of cereal and toast! See how the MLB players showed their stirrups? They really should go back to that. This combined bowling / wrestling thing. I think you are on to something there. The kids these days with the cell phones. And the iPad. And everything. Always looking for something new and different. I think you just created it!
Any boss worth their salt should take the closing music to This Week In Baseball and set it to play each time an employee arrives for work. Great pick me up. Positive atmosphere. Everyone feeling good. And happy. And everything. That or The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson opening. That's some good music!
Thanks for posting this. The Cards game featured on here (from 5/30/82) was one of my favorite memories of my childhood. The first Cards game I remember going to with my parents and brother. Such wonderful memories.
Thanks for posting. I am hoping somehow that MLB will release additional seasons of TWIB on DVD. They created a DVD set of the 1977 season (which is readily available at sites like eBay and Amazon) and I was first in line to buy it. But since then, they have not issued any additional seasons.
How can you be first in line to buy something online. I also own said DVD set but I didn't have to wait on a virtual line for it. Quit being dramatic but the DVD set is awesome
The Metrodome yielded so many HRs in 1982 that the team subsequently proceeded to put up a tall blue wall running from the right-field foul pole to center-field called "The Baggie".
This week in baseball on HBO host Bob Costas, Al Michaels, Derek Jeter, and John Lackey for Monday thought Friday and Weekend host would be Brent Musburger, Chris Berman, Cal Ripken Jr., and Kerry Wood Reshowing on MLBN, ESPN, FS1, NBCSN, and CBSSN.
does anyone know the music that starts at about the 13:38 mark? kind of a disco/classical sound, heard it on other baseball highlights in the same era, the early 80's and the music at 17:28 nfl films used for a segment called Teammates, if anyone knows that either
I'd like to know the name of the "marching band" song they play near the very end of each episode. (Not "Gathering Clouds" but the one right before.) It starts in this episode at 20:00.

Before baseball tonight, TWIB was the only place you find baseball highlights. TWIB followed by NBC Game Of The Week was appointment television.
I still can't understand why MLB Network doesn't air these episodes. Much better than the 47th airing of the edited-for-TV version of "Bull Durham".
Ahhhh, it’s Saturday morning for a 10 yr old boy!!!!!
My favorite TV show of all time.
When i was a boy, the song at the end of the show always made me tear up. I guess some things never change.
The old Home Run Derby was awesome too!!! I could watch old episodes of those two forever!
Best show on tv when I was a kid. They need to put these old episodes on today. "See ya next week on TWIB."
And the theme song was MAGICAL

Best closing song of a program.

Called “Gathering Crowds”, not clouds as someone erroneously posted. You can find it on RUclips.
When baseball didn't have no pitch clock or inter-league play man! How i miss these days.
I remember watching this week in baseball when I was kid.

The story of Dave Kingman: he either hit a home run or struck out
@@nala3038 I doubt that the mlb is full of Dave Kingman. Lot of homers and strikeouts. No contact.
❤️ king kong kingman
Dave kingman hit a homerun out of wrigley field stadium once
I'vve been watching baseball since 1978 and I still can't understand the rules.
Jerry Remy gets picked-off !!!
