I am on a pursuit to find footage of every Phillies game ever broadcast on tv. Clips like this are invaluable on my journey. Thank you. If anyone reading this has a channel or trove of Phillies footage please let me know
Tom Seaver driving away in his own Cadillac. Love it. He's certainly well off. But definitely not uber rich. Back when the common person could still relate to the professional athlete.
Seaver did ride away in a limo (Cadillac Fleetwood Seventy Five). But at least people back then were within 10 times a superstar's salary, unlike now where baseball players make 500 times more than the average person.
Carl Yastrzemski was a one man wrecking crew in 1977. Yaz seemed to get more clutch as he got older. What a slugger.... hell, if the Sox got Seaver instead of the Reds, they would've won it all in 77 & 78. Billy Martin should've stayed away from Steinbrenner after 78.
Mel Allen saying remember that name, talking about jack clark...one of the better hitters in baseball especially when he played for the cardinals, who always seem to have great first basemen like Keith Hernandez, mark McGuire and albert Pujols
this show was a great weekly wrap up.no mention of launch angles or peds.there is nothing close to this now.baseball has failed almost 2 generations.this show could be on today.espn don't care about baseball, neither does fox
Seeing this brought back a lot of memories loved this show T W I B
The music and pacing on this show - still state of the art

You did win the Pennant Steve Garvey! Great prediction!
When baseball was still king.
LOVED MEL ALLEN !
Geez there was literally no pauses from pitchers in the stretch in the 70s and 80s

A lot of players had jobs in the off-season back in the day. That doesn't happen anymore.
Watched TWIB every Saturday with my little brother. I remember this because the Red Sox were so prominent. We were on cloud 9.

This was must see TV
I cannot believe the Mets had Tom Seaver and Nolan Ryan and tossed it away
My best memories of Pete Rose... any time he ran around without a hat or helmet. That hair had bounce.
Tom Seaver the GOAT. RIP GTS.
Man I loved those powder blue Cubs uniforms
That Larry Herndon play was downright insane.
I had forgotten all about those old Giants uniforms.
Wow what memories. I was 15 years old back then. Lol
I was 7, but I knew every player from collecting baseball cards and an older kid across the street giving me his Strat-o-Matic game!
This was all we had before something like SportsCenter came around...
Aaron Davis And way before MLB Network
Yeap. This is what I watched until Sportcenter and Baseball Tonight with Chris Berman.
This is better than chris berman
Frank Tanana is from Detroit.
Pete Rose arguing with a baseball! Very interesting!
RIP Pete Rose and Luis Tiant!❤❤
Mets were always shrewd trader's.The trade's of Nolan Ryan and Tom seaver sure helped them.
9:35 A fiery beginning.
June 15,1977. The midnight massacre. will never forgive the mets for that trade.
Hmmm...you talking about the Tom S.trade?
The two worst trades in Mets history.
1. Trading Tom Seaver to the Reds.
2. Nolan Ryan traded to the Angels for Jim Fergosi.
@@jamesmatthew3681 Fregosi
A few days later billy and reggie ie
Mel Allen saying remember that name, talking about jack clark...one of the better hitters in baseball especially when he played for the cardinals, who always seem to have great first basemen like Keith Hernandez, mark McGuire and albert Pujols
Thought the redlegs were gonna catch dodgers after Seaver acquisition. Never shouldve let Perez go. The glue!
Boyhood tv
Before Sportscenter.....There was TWIB 😂
Reds would have won 3rd straight championship in 1977, but for that bonehead move of trading Tony Perez…

Mel Allen was This Week in Baseball! When Fox brought it back, it was just.the sports version of NBA’s Inside Stuff.
Pirates again wearing white jerseys on the road in 77. This time in SF.
Garvey was lying he was mad as hell reds landed Tom Seaver
Hope billy didn't ever think he could beat up reggie.not ever.not if Billy was 20 years old.
Love the older baseball. I can't watch todays baseball.
Seaver would be back with the Mets in 1983. They where still bad.
When real men played and manfred didnt pussify the game
Yankees fan but have to tip the cap to Yaz
