Who was your favorite Queen?
She was the only one I had ever known. A truely great queen.
Prince Edward!
All 3 actresses are amazing...but Claire is my favorite actress and she was BEYOND amazing in the Crown!
@@Beckford4000 Prince Harry, before he married...
The Real One
Seeing her sitting all alone at Phillip's funeral during covid was perhaps the most apropos and heartbreaking thing I've ever witnessed.
This scene was a perfect tribute to a great Queen!
I completely agree
I miss her 😢
Long live the Queen.
What a lifetime of terminal decline she experienced.
I miss her very much. She was one of the kind.
Rest in Peace Great Lady, you did the job well.
Your beloved father would have been very proud of you.
Bless your beautiful soul for ever.
From Canada, one of your faithful Commonwealth country.
This scene always breaks my heart. From junior ensign in the Army to young queen to 70 years on the throne.....what a lifetime. She was the only monarch I knew for most of my life. God Save the Queen.
I'm very glad they acknowledged her military service at the end. Very classy.
The ending was so moving, it has Shakespearian quality. The drama, the emotion, all comes together and pinacles in this scene.
4:31 This is so cool. All three actress who played Queen Elizabeth II from the youngest to the middle age to the oldest in the Crown: Claire Foy, Olivia Colman, Imelda Staunton all in one shot of this scene together.
"I'm sure everyone will carry on pretending all is well, but the party is over". Totally agree with that line. Exactly what is happening now with that family.
Agreed, but I think William will be a good king. He does have the duty/protocol well placed on his head and shoulders, but does have the feet well grounded in reality.
Chances are Diana was the one who saved the monarchy by raising his kids as normally as she could.
That’s right. Nailed.
@@usagi18He will get there, but only because Charles isn’t be saved. I doubt he’ll be good. But then a good monarchy in century 21 is a contradiction in terms
@@Kate-lk6tw because you know, most republics are thriving now. And yes, still think he will make a good king.
However The Prince of Whales has declared his lack of faith in the Lord.. Without Faith in God the monarchy will crumble as society has.
I was lucky to have her for most of my life as my Queen.
All of my life, and all of my mums life, as well. And indescribably incredible woman.
The young Princess saluting her older self, the Queen is just so well done.
The last sequence does not include a single dialogue. Yet the teleplay is full of amazing description that comes alive through remarkable production design, editing, art direction and, of course, very powerful performances of all the actresses, who said everything without uttering a single word. This is great television.
Even more remarkable is the fact parts of it were shot on Staunton's first day back on set after they halted during the official mourning period.
3:48 is the most moving scene (especially when young Elizabeth nods "We did good").
I saw it as "I'm so proud you're the woman I'll get to become."
Queen Elizabeth's shiny titanium spine is well remembered and regarded.
A shame the rest didn't seem to inherit it.
Christ they did so well with this whole sequence. Never fails to leave me with a tear.
this touched me more than it should. the music for that is fantastic dramatic. loving it
“When fate summons, even monarchs must obey” wow
So prophetic - and jus how I feel too - the world and the country are not the same - and not for the better
It would have been prophetic except when this scene was filmed, she has passed, and we could already see in motion what they had Philip say. so not really but a great tribute to her nonetheless.
I believe if the beautiful Queen was still alive. Harry and Meghan would not have gotten away with so much! Miss her and I'm an American!
@@kathycatarious5850That’s very gracious of you, thank you. ❤
This scene was a beautiful ending and tribute to Queen Elizabeth II. ❤️
A great ending.
This ending made me cry so bad.
Bloody hell, this was very moving. I haven’t seen the last series of The Crown, perhaps I will now. (2024). I miss her.🏴🇬🇧
So very beautiful. I cried through the entire ending. God love her, she's resting in peace ❤️
This sceen was a beautiful tribute to them both
Agreed!
What I wouldn't give to feel that nobility & respect for even a moment.
Such a perfect ending to have all 3 queens all together! It must have been such a thrill for everyone there...especially the 3 queens as all 3 are amazing! 😊
This part of the series the crown made me cry because she is and was the only queen in my life time
I was in tears watching this for the first time.
In a world so tumultuous and changing, one thing always stayed steadfast n unwavering.....By the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and of other Realms and Territories, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith, and Sovereign of the Most Noble Order of the Garter, Most High, Most Mighty, and Most Excellent Monarch, Elizabeth Regina, II.
May she forever rest peacefully for her dutiful service, not just to Country and Realms, but a dutiful symbol of stability without waver.
This is the most beautiful scene ever .
...in my opinion.
I’m curious what the original ending of the show would have been if Queen Elizabeth didn’t die ?
Is there any indication that they changed the ending? Filming started before she passed, then paused when she did. I assume all the scripts had already been written by that point. If there’s an interview/article where they say how they changed the ending based on her passing, I’d be interested to read it.
@@HailSocialiteyes, Peter Morgan said the direction of the last season was changed by the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
@@HailSocialiteI’m sure there were ideas on how it will end, but once she passed it helped to solidify a touching tribute at the end.
Good point!!
@@Maxwell_Cambridge I believe this final tribute was written after her death. Look how the coffin looks like hers did.
They need to do a similar series about Victoria. A lot of parallels yet a lot of differences too.
Have you not seen Victoria the series? Good lord, man, watch that post haste!
They already did! *wink*
Throughout the history of England, Queens always reign longer than the kings. And made great achievement serving their people. Something that Charles III would never achieve, And like this other royal counterparts that bear his name, Will not reign forever. Maybe we never forget the queens along with Elizabeth the second that served England well.
I would love to see a series that focuses on Queen Mary, the second and William third there one of my favorite monarchs
Love that Claire Foy and Olivia Colman were in this scene!
I can't imagine looking back over that many years of life. I've lived only half as long as she did and am already sifting through the years. This matters, that doesn't. Be mindful of this, don't worry about that. Imagine twice as much time to ponder?
What an ending!
I started to become very fascinated with the monarchy when they found Richard the third remains from there on I dedicated the past 12 years learning about the monarchy. I remember my mom excited to watch Prince William’s wedding when Queen Elizabeth passed away It hit me hard.
What an ending to an excellent series
Beautiful❤😢
Perfect ending to an incredible show. About an even more incredible woman.
I could picture if they had chose to put text saying: On September 8th, 2022, Queen Elizabeth II passed away peacefully at the age of 96 at her beloved Balmoral Castle with her two eldest children Charles and Anne by her side. At 70 years reigned, she was Britain’s longest reigning monarch. She was laid to rest in the King George VI Memorial Chapel beside her father King George VI, mother Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, her sister Princess Margret, and her beloved husband Prince Philip. But the Crown lives on… as it always has.
Could not have been a more *Perfect* ending.
This scene made me weep.
So moving. Beautiful tribute ❤️
This scene was heartbreaking 😢
Remarkable production, best ever imo.❤
She was a fantastic monarch
The Crown REALLY worked hard to ... "refine" the Price Phillip character. Because the actual person that he is based on was kind of a hot mess
Was she talking to her husband's ghost, or was it her own funeral?
She was talking to her husband
Her own funeral.
The Queen wasn't actually dead yet in the scene, it was more as though she was imagining it and also serving as acknowledgement for the audience noting her recent passing in real life.
the final episode takes place around her 80th birthday, so 2006.
This is what I think was exactly the intent of this scene. I so love this moving tribute and ending.
Imagine hearing "Queen Elizabeth II leads England in Civilization VII!" on top of Sleep Dearie Sleep.
3:50 quuens assemble
My queen😭
Say what you will about her family, she was an honorable woman.
BEAUTIFUL.
"They are not ready" hmmm... aren't we full of ourselves. Who's fault is that then? Weren't you supposed to raise them and make them ready?
Perfection
My eyes are leaking...
The whole last season sucked, except foe the Ritz episode... but man, this scene was a glorious masterpiece ❤️
Malfoy has got to fall in love with Dolores umbridge after 30 years
It's so disrespectable to only mention one role that these incredible actors have done in their vert successful careers.
Will there ever be a miniseries on Alexander III and Maria Feodorovna and their children? How about five seasons starting with how they met, the fourth about the revolution and the fifth, the aftermath of Maria’s exile with her two daughters and then end it with Maria’s passing and a scene where she is reunited with her son Nicholas and his family in Heaven.
I love it. ❤
Definitely the Greatest Woman of our time.
How
Epic
Death is sad
why cut the clip at that point...total waste
"We're a dying breed, you and I."
The rest of the world:
"GOOD RIDDENCE! Now give us back our jewels, our land, our resources, and our autonomy!!"
I do not think that the real Duke was intelligent enough to speak with such eloquence
"I was so young..." Yes, your Majesty. But you had been tempered by the Great Depresdion and almost 6 years of a World War with "mend and make do" and rationing. Charles , Anne, Andrew, and Edward are Boomers. Only Charles and Anne endured post war rationing (which ended in the UK in 1957, a decade after the USA). Otherwise, your children were tempered by virtually no hardships. They were raised in affluence and relative peace. Charles was cosseted and cuddled. He's spoiled. Anne is level-headed, but she's too far down the line. Andrew is a disgrace, and Edward is a bit too soft. William is a better pick, and ER II has taught him well. But his wife is not out of the woods yet, and his children are very young.
This scene makes a strong case for republicanism.
3:51🇬🇧😢
la dernière visite officielle que la reine Élisabeth a effectué était dans mon pays ,la France qu’elle aimait tant !
Dieu est mon roi !
God save the King a été composé au Xviii siècle pour Louis XIV par Lully
Philips words really piss me off. The reason that the new generation isnt ready because they were shit parents and teachers. Its ironic and hypocritical what he is saying. They weren't perfect and "rome" didnt prosper under them. They had nothing to do with it being prosperous or declining. All they are is a mascot. A very expensive one for the UK people. Regardless of his words though this was a very well crafted scene and a good ending.
Agreed. Charles has had the longest apprenticeship for possibly anything, ever.
Don’t mean to sound like this, but actually, that’s a misconception about Monarchy being expensive to maintain. Much of their wealth comes from the crown corporations and land. The channel Lavader has an excellent video on the subject that explains it way better than I could,
@@crusader2112Exactly. Rather than being a cost to the taxpayers, the monarchy pays more than £300 million a year to the Treasury, which is also getting a billion pounds from Crown Estate windfarms
@@crusader2112 Except it does not cover everything like their security is actually more expensive than all the rest and the taxpayers pay for that. That is why Charles pays for Andrew's out of his picket since Andrew no longer qualifies as a working royal.
@@michaelmontagu3979 Don't forget, their security cost taxpayers over 2 billion a year which is not mentioned in that report. Plus, don't forget Charles and William both are billionaires. The lessor royals, no, but those 2 are. They can easily afford the 300 million in taxes and sharing the profits of the windfarms, when their estates are estimated to bring in over 10 billion a year.
Depressing
Stunning and poignant
