When I was growing up, Boy George & Culture Club were heroes to me; ones I could look up to without fear of who I really was inside. Boy George is still one of my best inspirations in my life. To me, he faced criticism everywhere, but he kept bringing his wonderful, hip, cool songs to the forefront of the age. He never let anyone bring him down. Well, sorry about me getting carried away with the Radio Station's. Like I was saying, When the year 1982 came on up, And A Song Everyone Was Talking About, "CLUTURE CLUB" - "DO YOU REALLY WANT TO HURT ME" was getting 'AIR PLAY' ONE SATION & "NOT THE OTHER 2 CHR"S"!!!!! So, my friend's & myself would Phone In to the other 2 "CHR STATION'S" And REQUEST, "CULTURE CLUB" "DO YOU REALLY WANT TO HURT ME"? We got Response's Like,,,,,,What & Why Do U Wanna Hear That Shit or CRAP of A Song?????????? We would say, It's REALLY 2 BAD THAT YOUR SHALLOW MINDED AND YOU NOT GOING GO FAR IN LIKE BEING A BIGGGGGGGOT ~ THAT YOU SURE ARE!! IN FACT, A LITTLE INFO 4 YA BIGGOT! KBEQ 104.3 'KANSAS CITY'S SUPPER Q 'THE # 1 HIT MUSIC STATION' Is PLAYING "CULTURE CULB" "DO YOU REALLY WANT TO HURT ME"!! And It's in "HEAVY ROTATION". Growing up, I remember fondly that Boy George was one of my favorite heroes of music. He never let anyone rule who he was, or what he did. I deeply respect him for his individuality; his music; his messages, in my opinion, of equality for all. Plus, he has an amazing voice!! I'll always hold him in high regard. I remember this well, I was one of the skeleton children (around 5:50 in the video). Our school was invited to take part together with other local schools. I remember walking at the back near the tank, chatting to the band - great guys if I remember right. I also remember the cold egg McMuffins!
Such a fun, but long day of filming! So many kids! It was exciting enough being part of the video... But the McDonald trucks arriving to feed everyone was just as awesome back then!

People always viewed Boy George as a character, and i guess that's so many failed to take him seriously for a change, because this was a serious song with a serious message.
