You left out Crimson Shroud. A fantastic little game for the 3DS that wears its tabletop rpg influences on its sleeve. Matsuno is my favorite designer/director/writer in gaming and I do hope someday he's willing to fully helm a new game again. Otherwise, I'd definitely love to see remasters of FFT and Vagrant Story eventually.
What's crazy to me is that I was already beyond excited for Unicorn Overlord because of its similarities to the Ogre Battle series (OB64 being amongst my favorite games of all time and a style of srpg that has been sorely missing for 25 years now) but I also always adored the FF12 gambit system, which I didn't even know was going to play a role in Unicorn Overlord until I started playing. And it was only thanks to this video that I learnt that the same man was essentially responsible for both of those games, so I guess I ultimately owe him many of the funnest hours of my life!
EXCUSE ME "[Vagrant Story] aged like milk, both visually and from a user experience standpoint" I will concede that it's not the greatest game from an UX perspective. Lots of fiddling with menus, not a lot of explanation of complex gameplay systems. But it has absolutely not “aged like milk from a visual standpoint” in the slightest. In fact, I would say it’s THE best-looking game on the PlayStation. Even if you’re not a fan of the low poly look (I mean, it’s a PlayStation game, what do you expect?) From an art-design perspective this game is phenomenal. It’s character design, color choices, cutscene-shot composition, sound design, story and writing still wipe the floor with most modern games. It is the third game ever to get a 40/40 score from Famitsu for a reason. I implore anyone even vaguely interested to try it out for themselves, if you know what you’re getting into you’ll probably love it :)
Completely agree about the Tactics Advance games. I really want to like them as there are some really good ideas but the law system is just such a huge miss to me that I can't at all enjoy them.
The bizarre way you mispronounce Ivalice threw me off so bad I needed to pause the video and process WTH just happened. You made it sound like some new exotic variety of lice (parasites) from some ayvah lice like WTH man how did you even come up with that pronunciation lol

Thank you for watching!

Great video! I’m with you 100% with Tactics Ogre being superior to FFT.

Hahaha seems like I wasn't the only one, by the third time he said it I had to pause and check the comments to see if people noticed it.
