    I spent 4 weeks in San Pancho 3 years ago and loved it. Quiet, beautiful and ever so friendly. I did a few day trips to Sayulita and was always glad to get back "home" to quieter Pancho. And while Pancho is generally quieter than Sayulita, they both have roosters! And then some more roosters and several communal dogs:) Just part of the mix but remember ear plugs and noise machines! All that being said, I'm booked for 6 weeks in Sayulita Centro in the new year!
    Take care guys.

    We travel to San Pancho every year from our home in Canada. We love it and hope to retire there in a few years. You are right about these two beach towns being the place to be ! The relaxed vibe, the food, the beach, the street life! And for nature lovers like us there are wild birds to enjoy everywhere. Did you know about the polo field? Such a fun place. Can't wait til our next visit in December!

    You guys now HAVE to dance in front of every city sign because it's become your signature move! $150 for a ten minute taxi ride? Yikes... An unexpected parade, how fun! One night is NEVER enough. "Bumpty," haha. Wish we had communal dogs in Progreso rather than street dogs. How amazing. I've read many accounts about the sea water in Sayulita not being very healthy to swim in due to lack of infrastructure compared to the population growth. Great video - Anne

    • @karinamartinez7681
      @karinamartinez7681 3 года назад +1

      Hi there. Moving to Merida is one of the best decisions I´ve made. I rented few months and I just bought a place. I work remotely (for Covid) but I have a job at a University. So eventually, I will be working in person. I´m Mexican BTW, that makes language and logistics easier, but it seems that is not so complicated for foreigners.
      Have you visited Merida at all? maybe you could start by staying short-term and see if it works for you.

    • @KareemPinkston
      @KareemPinkston 3 года назад

      @@karinamartinez7681 - I’ve never visited there, but I’ve lived in the Virgin Islands and I’m currently in California. So, the biggest aspect and complaint from people is the heat and humidity (which I’m accustomed to).
      So, I have some savings that I’m considering just buying and moving down to work remotely abroad.
      I guess you could call it a “soft retirement”.
      My thought process is, the states cost of living is ever increasing. Folks want to SAVE for their retirement and then realize they can’t afford it.
      So, what do they do? They move to Ajijic or Costa Rica… by the the time I look to retire, most of the valuable real estate will be sold AND the prices will have increased.
      So I’m basically wanting to invest ahead of time.

    Hi guys. I am glad you like Sayulita +San Pancho so much. I'd love to live there if I could. Sayulita is normally a relatively quiet beach town except during Eastern when it becomes packed with low budget tourists from Guadalajara and Mexico City. It gets so crowded that many people pass the night on the beach or in their cars. Not nice, indeed. If you go back to Sayulita you may want to explore other beaches in the same region. There are several semi virgin beaches south and north of Sayulita. If snorkeling is your thing you may want to visit the famous "Hidden Beach" in the Marietas Island. If you are around PV yet, you may want to visit the Colonial village of San Sebastián, 1.30 hours away from PV, up in the mountains. San Sebastián is a charming 17th century mining town. Several tour operators in PV offer 1-day visits to San Sebastián.
    By the way, I loved who Travis pronounced "perfecto". English speakers normally have problems to pronounce the Spanish "r" sound. FYI, us Mexicans do not drink Tequila the way you did anymore. That's outdated. We sip the Tequila slowly and we do not put salt on the palms of our hands. In the past Tequila used to be drank accompanied with salt and lemon. The function of the lemon was to cool your throat, but that custom was adopted when the Tequila was a cheap alcoholic beverage. If are drinking a good quality Tequila, then you do not need to accompany it with lemon and salt, and certainly you do not drink it in shots, but sipping it slowly. Hope you keep having a good time in PV.
