It looks like it can “indicate” exactly where Atlantis is since it’s been there. 😊
Plato knew where Atlantis is
no, it is preparing for the role of another antikythera mechanism
santorini
Omg, that cad outline projected onto the part in the vice is delightful
yeah, loved that.
I'm wonder how he does it. the perspective, view angle, orientation, all of it matching perfectly....
Now go watch his whole Antikythera mechanism series.
I can only assume he's drawing that by hand....
@@JDLukeimagine how creative and skilled the ancient Greeks were to build the Antikythera Mechanism over 2,000 years ago?
I want to spare a moment for the time it took to make those cool animations... dude is machining a precision part, filming it beautifully, and somehow manages to have cool animations and quality graphical overlays.
Thank you mate, appreciate you taking the time to watch :)
@@Clickspring Highlight of my day. The Antikythera project was absolutely mesmerizing.
@@TheActionBastardWait a second, is it completed? I never saw the final product. How’d I miss it?
Dune 2 looks even better than I imagined
Feels a lot like the game Myst.
It doesn’t matter what I’m watching or doing, when I see a new video from Clickspring, I stop everything.
Great to have you watching mate :)
Likewise.
A "thumbs up" can't express the satisfaction I feel every time I watch a Click spring video. Perfect!
@Chris, many of the things you do may never have been filmed before. But I believe they most certainly have never been filmed at this staggering beauty, quality and attention to detail. Thank you so much for what you do, especially when paired with your always respectful, informative, never boasting attitude 🤩🥰🤩
There is some magic in what you make that's so addictive watching.
It is both something that grips my attention yet paradoxically also something really easy to nap to. Kind of like Bob Ross of machining.
@@logannewman4532.. the shaving from steel come out as graphite from a pencil being sharpening.
Clean, clean, clean... the tool, the space, the job.
Do it right the first time, every time...
The skill involved in both your machining and video making is absolutely awe inspiring. Thank you for sharing your work! Having people like Adam Savage as fans of your work says a lot about you.
Absolutely the best filmed machining videos on the internet. Bar none.
That's without mentioning the incredible beautiful pieces you create.
Never thought I would be marvelling over a bolt.
Clickspring is the definition of precision. Very inspirational Chris.
Chris, I'm no machinist but your skill and artistry seem nothing short of extraordinary. You're one of the most consistently talented makers I've seen and it's a pleasure to see what you come up with.
What a beautiful gift for all those of us who have been following since the early days but haven't been able to support on patreon.
I hope the academic venture is going well.
I think I've said it before, you have the patience of a saint, and the finishes you achieve are nothing short of amazing. 👍
Chris, I don't know if you do read all the comments but, I wanted you to know that despite being subscribed for years, I have yet to get tired to see your work.
Your craftmanship is legend but even more, your camera and montage work is simply pro level.
Kudos Master Clickspring
Came for the meticulous metal fabrication, stayed for the sci-fi animations.
I'm so grateful I can enjoy your elegant documentation and explanation on machining projects like this one. I may not click immediately, but rather put it in my Watch Later list, so I can watch it with full concentration when I won't be disturbed for the duration of the video. Yes, I really prepare this. And think about what I've seen and learned in it later. Man, I wish I could start maching stuff myself just for fun, if I had the time for it in my life.
Deep hole drilling has always been a big challenge for me. Your use of a reemer is very inspiring. Thanks, Chris!
On of my favourite channels! As an engineer myself I can’t express enough how amazing the work of arts you create are. Not only are you an expert but an artist too. The elegance and creativity put into each episode is commendable to the highest level. ASMR for a mechanical mind
I enjoy the journey in your videos. Congratulations on your gifts and grace for sharing.
Excellent production as usual. The story telling, the animations, the expertise presented in such an easy to follow format is incredible.
As a career machinist and manufacturing engineer your explaination of a fixture is spot on. Good precision work is always a challenge, but that is what makes machining so fascinating. Cleverness and creativity are so important, and you clearly have both in excess!
Thank you, appreciate you tuning in to watch :)
Be proud, it is a long dead art,..... the art of rediscovering long dead arts and teaching them......awesome.😅
Mindblowing! thank you for over 24mins of pure satisfaction.
The finished, polished parts are so nice they almost look like cgi.
Thanks Chris! Love the animations too 👍
Just incredible work! The rack teeth look consistent and very clean. This will be a great indicator. Thanks for sharing this.
Honestly, the best build series on YT
Chris, you're absolutely insane in the best way. Everything you produce is a work of art!
Have you ever done a 'workshop tour' type video? I'm sure a lot of us would like to see what mill, lathe etc. you use.
Yes Chris has done one of these, have a look and you're bound to find it. Spoiler alert, it's smaller than you imagine.
Yes, he posted a tour a few months ago
As always sincerely amazing work. Just leaves my jaw on the floor, truly.
Fixtures are immensely important.
For any kind of job...from carpentry to...metalworking!
🫀🫀🫀🫀🫀
Watch Chris or spend time with the missus... no brainer!
Beautiful as always 👍🏻
You're video production blows my away
First class editing BTW.
I just wanted you to know, you are fantastic. Everything about your videos is well done and documented. I disagree with that old adage, "Those who can, do and those who can't, teach, " because I think only a truly competent person can make learning as enjoyable as you do ❤ love your videos.
Exceptionally talented engineering. Thank you for sharing your time.
Just Awesome what u get out of that Sherline and a Mediium Sized Benchtop Mill ! You have all my Respect !!!!! By the way, you are also a Superb videographer !
Your videos are as exquisite as the pieces you make. Absolute perfection.
Its nice to see that even someone like you that makes some of the nicest small machining projects on RUclips uses a slightly scuffed ground boring bar 19:14
Superb machining, coupled with superb editing, make this video one of the most impressive I've seen recently. Bravo, Chris!
Great machining work. I look forward to your videos. The animation with the dial gauge through the water is fantastic.
Good watch. Thanks for sharing.
Simply gorgeous presentation. I especially liked the light around 16:50.
That satisfying 'pop' when you pulled the part out of the holder
Thank you for your time and dedication to the perfection !
Ron Covell's channel has been invaluable for the insight that smart fixturing and jigs can turn seemingly impossible tasks into straightforward repeatable ones, resulting in way more professional results.
I don't do anything nearly as impressive, but it has proved instructive when I 3D print parts that it's perfectly sensible to take a few extra minutes to model up a fixture or jig using the existing dimensions in order to do things like accurately locate and drill holes on parts or otherwise help with aligning multiple pieces for gluing, cutting, or other operations. It's easy to do and costs almost nothing, but our first instinct is always to take the "quick and easy" way out when a bit of extra time could have gotten a cleaner result with no risk of failure.
Put off going outside to work just to watch this🙂.
To be fair, I put off going outside to work for practically any other reason, also. And sometimes for no reason at all.
OK, you got me… ‘most’ times.
Amazing work from a true craftsman.
Dude. Superimposing the hidden lines on live video of the stock in the vise is crazy cool!
I know its not a competition, but the bar for production, detail and workmanship just got raised well above the other channels similar to this one
Plus I just like hearing another Aussie accent on youtube :)
Skill on the lathe and milling machine… and with the camera. Thanks Chris! Les in UK 🇬🇧
You are a legend. You inspired me to learn how to do old-school arts like leather work smithing and carpentery
Between Chris's Artdeco submersible dial indicator and Jason's Steampunk scrap Chandelier, I've got a full charge of Incredible Videograpy and Meticulous Artisanship for at least a month of Inspiration. Glad others below are noticing and appreciating the overlays and what it takes to build them into a complex sequence perfectly synced with fades and lighting!! Thanks always for the Inspiration and my favorite - "Squeaks", Chris!
First of all: big words of appreciation for what you are doing - your attention to detail, editing, quality of graphics, narration are just stunning, educational and most importantly: inspirational. There is just one thing I thought maybe you would consider - video quality. Nowadays that could be improved - especially in a field of high dynamic range and lenses (chromatic aberration) - these beauties you machine would be worth it :) Anyways, thanks for ages of giving us stunning and uncompromising content we really love! Cheers!
what an upgrade in editing
So glad Chris is back, did he ever explain why he disappeared for years?
Thing of beauty.
18:18 This made me feel things I've never felt before
That particular model of interapid is my favorite indicator you can buy.
It’s the machining, or the milling or the film and editing or the animation and the story telling, pretty good package from one bloke. Thanks for Chirs making it all.
Outstanding work as usual Chris!
Incredible workmanship
Man, that design of the fixture, the cad overlay while machining its a next level project..
I always find it interesting to watch this guy make tools so he can make more tools to eventually make the thing that the project is about.
I get you about procedure. I do roads and sewers but if you go step by step, keep checking levels and dimensions it's satisfying graft😊
Fantastic work! My favorite channel
Amazing work again Chris, you know its Precision when you pull the part out the the fixture and get the pop...my favorite sound.
Thank you for another excellent video - truly enjoying and learning!
Once again. Beautiful work. No not work. Beautiful artwork.
Amazing work Chris, thanks for sharing.
Watching your work is just so enjoyable. The finish is just beautiful.
2:30 "I like procedures," said James May while sitting in a Bugatti Veyron.
me too. This is soooo cool. I just wish it wasn't so long between episodes on this one.
A broken tap gag was the only thing missing, at the end of cutting the rack. I know it's not your style tho.
Amazing work, as usual.
Mesmerising precision. I've forgotten what you're making again but I think it has something to do with a ufo.
the goat posted again, would love to see a vid on your approach to abrasives, you get some great finishes
Your videos are the ones to which I most look forward. Thank you for such great work.
Amazing and inspiring. Well produced videos and clearly explained process.
Fixture, fixture, FIXTURE!
This is mesmerizing to watch. The precision is amazing, and calming. I think in another life, I would enjoy being a precision machinist.
Классная работа!!!
Thank you so much for doing these videos. I have learned so much over the years.
Beautiful work as always... Fantastic editing, too... Such a satisfying watch. All the very best from a proud Patron in Canada...
Excellent as always 👍
Chris - you continue to be a true master... plus your excellent video work too.
Appreciate you watching mate :)
In my humble opinion, WOW! WOW! Thank you.
right on, my favourite part of any project is the thinking, I love thinking of clever ways to finish a project.
Great stuff.
Ahh a new clickspring video? This is going to be a good weekend
outstanding as always
Beautiful and informative.
Dang, I'm always amazed by your work. It never ceases to surprise me, what you can do. Mind me asking how the antikythera device build is going?
Really nice work here!
Sensational work Chris. It makes my brain hurt watching those tiny rack teeth being cut!
superb! I really like the "science-fiction" part of your video. Splendid...
Waiting for the next one😊
Thank you for the video. Your attention to fine details and the polishing of the parts are wonderful. Thanks again.
Small and micropart machining is fascinating. The size of the spring retaining ring compared to Chris' thumbnail is comical.
Очень нравятся ваши видео. Это удовольствие для души. Восхитительный монтаж.
Потрясающая аккуратность и точность в работе.
Спасибо!
Beautiful.
Perfection!
As a CNC programmer in a busy R&D shop, I have a large trophy shelf with some of my fancier fixtures which may or may not ever be used again lol. I fixtures are my best opportunities to invent. Also an opportunity to show the guys on the floor how I approach modular work holding which they don't generally have to do because I provide fixtures for their parts.
