I’m pulling for you, Mark! I was hurt to find out you’re in a battle with cancer. I’ve grown up listening to you guys. You’re a great dude and I only wish the best recovery. God bless!
It really does seem like it couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy.. everything he’s ever done publicly has made him out to be one of the most likeable musicians. Regardless, Mark has lived a hell of a 49 years and accomplished more than most of us ever will. His legacy will live on for a long long time with these dumb little songs.
The craziest part of the video for me is just seeing him as a person who has had incredible life experiences, playing the songs he wrote and performed in front of thousands of people, in his own home
For me it'is incredible to see how the visuals are inversely proportional to the musical beauty. The higher they are, the more the music sucks. What a shame, 500k visual for touching 2 strings for 3 minutes
I wrote them a letter back in the 90's when Cheshire Cat first released. I said something about the cat on the cover and told them I hoped to have a band someday. Mark hand wrote me a letter back. He thanked me for being a fan and encouraged me to follow the dream. wish I had kept it.. I was supposed to see my 2 favorite bands play together during the pop disaster tour in 2000 ish. Green Day and Blink 182. My dream come true. My friend and I drove from Thompson Mb to Winnipeg with the plan being to drive to Minnesota the following day, arrive around 5 and the concert is at 7. I fell asleep while my friend drove and a wrong turn was made taking us off course. By the time the mistake was realized it would be 10PM by the time we made it to Minnesota and pulled up to the arena just as the crowd came flowing out the front door. Missed the whole thing. My friend was a planner, so we booked the hotels far ahead of time and were right next to the arena. As I sat in the lobby depressed about what happened a group of people come in and they are surrounding a group of people ( I now know was the opener, "Saves the day" ). I saw an older guy standing to the side; it turned out he was a manager. I told him my story and showed him that I still had my unripped ticket. He asked me if I wanted to see their tour bus. Wow, yeah!. He took me to the tour bus and gave me a guitar pick A used drumstick from Green Day, and a new Drum Stick from Blink. I still have the drumsticks nearly 25 years later. I had my chance to see them play in Vancouver A few years ago but it felt like it was missing something without Tom and all of them bantering. I hope they do the tour again and I will be there.
