"She doesn't need me. If I die today, she will be fine" is one of the most pathetic statements uttered on television. This is why men and women are lost and why Rollo was right to continue beating on this drum, despite the rest of the panel predictably rushing to Dr. Phil's defense.

If a woman doesnt need a man then there's no need to spend your money, time, energy, attention, on her. In fact, the two of them are the quintessential trad couple who complement, interdepend and support each other to reach each other's best potential and at the same time have a cohesive good marriage as "one". He could have said that and shown some integrity and honesty. Yet, he and she had to lie just to appease the narrative liberal society has FORCED upon us and to make Robin feel good that she's the "independent" modern women. She's anything but.

Interesting watching Phil spew self conflicting statements just to disagree. To be fair, he'd get cancelled if he spoke his mind, and then his sugar momma would dump him for the next Jerry Springer.
Rollo is well versed on this but he didn't articulate himself as well as he can (I've heard him on plenty of podcasts). And being the only person in this room not afraid to rattle the cage and direct the conversation to an uncomfortable place, isn't an easy position to be in.
Most of what Robyn said was overwhelmingly dumb. Reeves is very knowledgeable on this but he was trying to be very polite here. That Ahmed fellow is literally an idiot thinly disguising himself as a calm intellectual. I mean imagine being the founder of an organisation named "Countering Online Hate". He has no idea of the actual cultural issues on the young dating scene like Rollo knows.
Rollo is right though, American women have created such a huge minefield that men have to cross where they would die trying to cross it so they dont even try. Women want the top 20% men but these men don't settle down that easy. Most men stay single by choise and they are perfectly content doing so.
The feminist movement took it too far. And this dynamic is growing. Just look at Japan and South Korea.

They fail to mention that Phil and his Wife were together in the 1970s when marriage was still more of a norm. Now we live in a world of hookup culture, dating apps which you can swipe to find the 'next best thing' alongside the abandonment of needing a man. We haven't looked in depth at the psychology of both men and women when sleeping around with multiple partners. Phil and his wife met when he was a big strong football player who would be able to look after her but now the government is able to look after the women/family household making men redundant and now we live in an era of sperm banks, modern tech to create children via incubation making reality looking a bit too sci-fi scary if you ask me. We also live in a time of broken/corrupt financial systems and weak political stances that represent the profits/agenda to the highest bidder, So when Andrew Tate who's voice is the complete polar opposite comes out we're shocked...
Actually no. Socially we NEED eachother. We are codependent on each other. We compliment eachother. life doesn't happen unless we are together. Families DIE when you don't have a man. Children suffer and beocme degens. Our societal fabric and our species iS dependent on these strong tight nit relationships, the strongest and most important being marriage. It sounds like his guest is unfulfilled. It's like he has to be needed to have a purpose. In the end, we are all individuals with our own minds and actions. Do i want my significant other to be in my life as long as possible? Of course. Will i miss him if he happens to pass away? Yes. I'd be devastated, BUT my life will go on. I don't need a significant other to make my life have purpose. I'm strong enough to have importance and purpose on my own.
That’s actually very difficult to say with complete certainty, in men and women. Everyone treats this differently and if you’ve never been in a situation like that which is a very personal occurrence that normally would only happen to people once in their lifetime, maybe twice. you can’t say for sure you would not for instance do something, god forbid in this hypothetical scenario, like take your own life after your significant other passed away.
Normally, that doesnt happen often but, I take issue with a statement like that.
You could entirely believe you’d be fine today, then the opposite occurs later on down the road.
I can say after my father passed away, my mother seemed to almost have lost the Will to continue on. Had it not been for my brother and I, there’s no doubt in my mind she unfortunately may have chosen to end her time in this world.

@J F I am grateful your Mother has her children to lean on and I fully understand that everybody is different. Situations vary and people handle all situations differently. My Father passed away, as well. Recently. My Mother has her good days and bad days and I'm thankful I live near by to give her support. I just find it interesting that this guest on the show seems so... lost. He feels like women don't need men. That's a GREAT thing. Be independent. Dr. Phil was honest and open about him and his wife's dynamic. She doesn't NEED him and vise versa. Now, they WANT each other in their lives and that is wonderful. I think the guest is only worried about the physical things like making money and get jobs done. It is very narrow minded, like he's stuck in the 60s where the men worked and women stayed at home to raise children. He may feel worthless and he needs some deep soul searching and therapy. I don't depend on anyone to do the things I need and want to feel worth. I bring that to myself, but everyone is different. I have been told I'm too independent by past relationships. Lol That I'm not fully in the relationship, but I am. Maybe I'm just just vulnerable for most people. After being single for 15 years, I've become strong. I had to for myself. I make my own happiness. If someone is along for the ride I'm happy with that and will cherish that, but I don't NEED a relationship to be happy.

Dr. Phil & his beloved wife Robin are very blessed to have found each others. They have been friends, companions, partners, parents & have helped each others grow, blossom & develop. That is a healthy marriage. They enjoy their different roles & are safe in their own skins & lanes. ❤ I can only enjoy their story...& wish them the best now & always....It is special to know that such couples do exist...Dr. Phil is a special husband to see to it that his wife is protected daily & he put everything in place for the future...The joy they have to be together is very encouraging....

People keep comparing money with happiness. It doesn't work that way.
I think that is one of the main misunderstandings with some of these arguments. Some people see relationships as material and superficial (men need to women to make babies to continue the species and women need men to provide and protect). The human brain has evolved past this and relationships are more based on love, support and growth independently and as a couple.
If Phil McGraw was a lazy bum, who was doing nothing with his life, when he asked Robin to marry him, she would laugh in his face, and rightfully so, because he wasn’t adding anything of value as a man for a woman to take him seriously, who wants to be in a serious relationship.
No woman wants a man that doesn’t have some kind of drive or ambition to better himself… and that’s perfectly fine. Women should want the best man, just like a man wants the most beautiful, feminine woman, so your insinuation that money doesn’t equal happiness is incorrect. If a man isn’t financially stable, a woman won’t want to be with him, and he can’t make her happy, so she will reject him outright.
Is money the only factor to happiness? Of course not, but it’s what gets your foot in the door to attract a woman in the first place. Then comes personality, looks, morals, values, etc.

The main biological urge for both men and women is to procreate and develop their offspring to propagate a regular society, while also creating a legacy for their family name. That’s something that will never, ever stop existing in the DNA of majority of human beings. That’s why we have over 8 billion people on this earth and we keep growing every single day.
Are more relationships today based on love, support and happiness? Yes, because there are a lot of psychological factors that affect us in a negative way, whether it’s social media, job loss, health issues, emotional stress, etc., so we need our partner to be there for us, but that doesn’t mean family and children is less important for majority of human beings. If the things you listed were more important, the birth rate would be declining exponentially.
The reality is that majority of women develop happiness from family and children, which is great. How are those things material and superficial? Creating a family and children is a beautiful thing. Only modern feminist women have this crazy mindset, and they’re slowly, but surely, helping lead to the downfall of society, where happiness is about how you make a woman feel, not building a future together.

First of all Dr. Phill and Robin are not the typical couple, they are an exception (unfortunately). And they don't know much about dating in TODAY'S environment. It's very different from their time. The values are different (unfortunately), the thinking is different, etc....They'll never understand Rollo's point of view.
Now, regarding the "need" vs "want" debate: the only reason they don't "need" each other NOW is because they've had a lifetime together of building their careers, family and comfort. But they needed each other back then, when they were poor. So it's pointless to even bring that up.

I have not watched this episode but if that Rollo Tomassi says men are purposeless then he is wrong. Is that some betacuck that tries to impress women or hate men for some weird reason. How lovely that Dr.Phil and his wife loves each other and Im sure she wants him but she would make it on her own as well. Maybe not as much as she has with Dr.Phil and his show but still she would survive I guess.
If she's doesnt need him but wants him... mention one thing you bought that you never needed, but just wanted, then you still considered it as an essential part of your life?

I think she would be able to survive without him, but Im not gone say thats definitely the case, some people kill themselves or die of heartache.
