Just to clarify too, father ted is an irish show. Irish actors, writers, humour, and half the show was filmed in west ireland and the inside of buildings was filmed in UK. So it wouldn't be just Britain going crazy about this clip cause in Ireland its well known too.
And just to add: Ireland is a Catholic country and Father Ted spends most of it's time poking fun at the Catholic church. It was an excellently funny and clever series and I think might still be repeated on UK TV.

@@TheReactionStory The whole episode is hilarious, there's some real gems in there but Channel 4 (the original broadcasters) cut some of the content cause they have a parody of Hitler so it's hard to find an uncut version unless you have it on physical media. The show was amazing but Dermot Morgan (Father Ted) died pretty young, they only filmed three series. If you look at the window of their house you can see a black square, well after this scene Ted invites the family round to apologise. When he's waving at them from the window the camera cuts to show the family's perspective as the approach the parochial house and Ted looks like Adolf at one of his rallies so they storm off lmao.
Lmao 1) it's hardly a new show, Dermot died in 1998....pull the pants out of your bum and calm down 2) the chances of somebody actually watching the full version are pretty remote. 3) knowing and watching are completely different things. I mentioned one gag...get over yourself.
If you want to see a really cynical, humorous look at the "kingmakers" in mid-20th century politics, and my Favorite Peter Sellers movie, see "BEING THERE" It's nothing like Sellers in the Pink Panther series. It is genuinely funny on so many levels. Please Enjoy!
I like the way Father Ted puts the Lamp Shade on his head, and tells the young one to ''Lighten UP''.You really need to know the background to this, It is a total Parody about the Catholic Preisthood. The 3 of them are forced to live together on a isolated very small Island. The elderly one is totally mad, and the young one one is a complete idiot. the middle one TED hates being a preist. and wants to leave.
You misunderstood, the woman with the bags is supportive of racism, she is not angry with father ted. Also you miss the bit where the man then casually ssks her about Mary, and polite discussion begins about a new job.. Dry humour yes..
It gets better farther Ted stands, by accident behind that black mark on the window which makes him look like Hitler and he's waving his arm about when the Chinese come back.
