Watched quite a few of your videos so far and subscribed. Good informative content! Nothing elitist, just practical info. I too have socks in different thicknesses based on what boots I'm wearing, not just the temperature outside.
It is true that each pair of boots calls for a different thickness of sock. Just wear what is comfortable for the boot you are you are wearing. Another great video.
I like wearing Puma crew athletic socks(got them at Costco). I have had some boots that need thicker sock, so with them sock brand varies. Good video! Keep Orange Crushing It!
I have a pair of boots that I wear dress socks with them too. Either that or take the insole out and wear Regular socks. That’s the good thing about boots that are made with cushion insoles is it gives you other options for a better fit
I chose my socks based on shaft height of the boot , standard dickie crew socks for a 10 inch shaft , and taller socks for 11 and up, I'll go up or down a 1/2 size to get proper foot room same with width.
I wear the socks that best fill out the boot. I have a more narrow boot Ariat Ventek that I wear ankle socks in! Then there are some Twisted X boots that have more wiggle room I like wearing in the winter where I wear boot socks that are thicker...and then everything in between.
Thanks for doing this video. Those Redhead socks will probably work well in my Abilenes. My Hondos are a little bit bigger and tricky to find the right thickness sock. They're too loose for regular midweight socks, but too tight for the thick heavyweight winter wool socks. I just found a sock that's an in-between thickness - the Wigwam King Cotton Heavyweight sock. It's looks really thick at first, but they compress down to just the right thickness after about ten minutes in your boot, and they stay that way until you wash them. Now that you mention Redhead, have you tried the Redhead pocket T shirts? I just found out about them, and they are really high quality, I mean they are the best T-shirt I've seen, I couldn't believe it for $14.99. They're thick and smooth, 100% cotton, and don't pill in the wash. This is only true for their pocket T - their other T's look cheap like everyone else's.
Are they over the calf socks? I try to stick to over the calf since they never roll down. I might have to check them out and see how they compare to the old west boot socks I usually wear
They will run about half way up the calf and I never had a problem with them rolling down they are right where I put them 12 hrs later when I need to take them off and really comfortable.
I was looking at a pair of Horse Power in pirarucu. Do you find them true to sizr or smaller than normal? I’m a solid 11EE in double H but I can’t find many reviews on sizing. Hate to drop $400 on boots that are to dang small.
I think if your truly 11EE you won’t go wrong with horsepower They will definitely not be too small. If you use my promo code CBHWLE10 you can get 10% off on Carter’s boots and they have them. cartersboots.com/products/horse-power-black-matte-bass-tan-sin
Dan Post over the calf boot socks are by far the best sock for boots. However, in the summer you will sweat like crazy. But the socks will never fall
