The RS7 used to be my favorite Audi until I saw the RS5 Sportback in person. I liked it more because it's basically a smaller RS7 with a still usable amount of power.

@@G0ddEityawesome I had a completely different experience. Drove an '17 S8 Plus and an '17 RS7 Performance back-to-back and disagree with the "sportiness" of the S8 Plus. That thing was a freaking beast. Once in Dynamic, the entire character of the car changed and was much more planted w/little-to-no body roll. Both cars were spec'd loaded with basically all options. Regarding straight-line performance: total toss-up between the two. With 600 ponies on tap, either one is a mid 11s car (stock) - there was no obvious difference between the two in straight line performance, even with the weight advantage of the RS7. Twisties goes to the RS7, but only just. The weight advantage of the RS7 is noticeable there. Considering the S8 is a limo-class car though, the fact that it is comparable to the RS7 in driving characteristics and performance is testament to how well the platform was developed.
If you want hassle free brakes, you get the performance edition that comes with ceramic discs and pads. The discs will never need replacement (unless you take it to the track a few times) and the pads wear out pretty slowly with spirited driving.
My most negative point about the 16-19 RS7 Performance is the steering. Coming from an 13 RS5 it's a world of difference. I believe it's because of the electric steering feature which causes you to get almost no feedback from the steering.
One other thing you should know about, not 100% sure if the RS7’s have this issue too but on all the other 4.0T’s the pcv valve will eventually make a loud squealing sound and need to be changed. There’s a TSB for that too

Hey Eddie, Did you take a look at the 2019 S7? Why did you choose to stick with the exiting models instead of waiting to see what the new RS7 will have as far as powertrain and performance? Don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE this model and would buy one in a heartbeat if I had the money.
Went into a dealership today. Is the rs7 or s7 worth it with ceramic brakes? I sat in s5 nardo grey today. That grey looks great in person need advice.
Hi Eddie, perhaps this is infra-dig to mention and you're already all over it, but in regard to that oil starvation from sludge risk issue. I've found the PAO-ester based engine oils far less prone to that than premium synthetics that are not PAO-ester based. Taking the NOACK evaporation index parameter as a guide, the PAO-ester type oils record at the low end but not by that much. So what's the big deal? However when considered against "normal" consumption of engine oil over the change interval the PAO-ester oil is consumed at near ~1/5 the rate. In my Audi that "consumption" is a difference of 60-70ml's to 280-300ml over 7,000kms. Something think about with your enthusiast buddies. My main concern came from reducing GDI inlet port coking and avoiding sludge that prematurely kills the cam chain guides/tensioners (that's also a monster job and cost).
Nothing screams "sports car" like 3 seating in the rear. Dedicated performance vehicles that aren't two seaters have always been like this, even cheaper ones.
Hey I have a 2016 S7 and one of the turbos blew up 3 months ago when the car was at 60000km. It was $11k CAD but covered by the warranty. So I’m just wondering if I should get an extended warranty when the factory one expires? Since it’s already blown once does it mean the new one will last longer? What do you recommend?
Hey I saw your previous videos about your experience @ the Miami dealership however what's missing is the car fax didnt register the body damage report . So what gives they too are scammers
They have the middle seat in the European versions.... they took the middle out in the states due to some safety regulation. You probably could get a full back and install it yourself
Hi Eddie, would you recommend as a safe buy an RS7 C7.5 with 55.000miles ? As is it a car that can safely go to like 75.000miles without very expensive repairs. Thank you in advance for your help. Arthur
The seats are that way for safety reasons. Unlike a traditional sedan they don’t have the structural crossmember behind the seats. If they put the middle seat in they wouldn’t have enough support to pass crash testing.
Interesting. Didn't know that. But like a Lamborghini Urus can be optioned with a bench across the back and it doesn't have anything structure behind that rear row until you get to the trunk
True, and like others have said the A7 has the option. There are a lot of factors that go into the design. The Urus sits higher and could have a stiffer frame. The S7 and RS7 could have used lighter materials in some areas for performance reasons or because of their higher top speed required higher strength. I’m not an engineer on these cars so I can’t tell you exactly why, but I work as one in a similar field. (I had an RS7 btw and I looked into it because I’m the person people say don’t exist who has 3 kids and still wanted the car)
Great video. A bit confused with you focused on things you dislike or hate but haven’t happened to your particular vehicle. Not sure how you can hate something that hasn’t happened.
Great video Edd..i think u r one of da most sincere guys on RUclips...whn u do ur pull u laff like Parker tho..did u test drive a cls b4 buyin da rs7 pls n if u did wht did u nt like?
Hi Eddie, since you have driven the Urus, do you think the rs7 drives similar to it and which one would you rather have if given money is no objection?
I don't think they feel that similar. The powertrain is close but the Lamborghini felt a bit more intense. If money was no object, I'd have an Urus in my garage
Only thing I hate about most of these german/euro cars is that their center console is absolutely outdated. turn knobs and buttons. its funny that my moms 16k chey malibu has a better functioning console/touch screen, than a 60-70k audi. I bought my father a 2016 A3 and he loves the car, but inside it looks like something from 2004 lol, interiors are beautiful tho as well as lighting in these cars, just wish they'd get with the times and update to touch screen.

Kind of curious, Why did you call the a6 c7 boring?
I love the way my a6 looks with the s-line trim.
Garbage Can not boring to me. Love the A6
Cause it’s boring
Considering buying an RS7 after making pretty good money through Amazon FBA. It's been my dream car for years and after this video, I still want it lol. Any comments or statements you think I should know before I drop the down payment?
i have a 19 SQ5 with sport brakes, they don’t squeak but they make a grunting sound when I try to brake to a stop .2k miles into it now and it still does it. Dealer said its normal but it’s annoying.
Eddie, you can use a garment steamer to reduce or completely remove the baby seat marks on the back seat.
Will that work on leather? Thanks for the suggestion!!
@@EddieX Yes. Leather upholsterers use steam to fit leather seat skins and shrink them into place
There’s an Audizine thread for an aftermarket MMI screen/tablet. Please take a look at it. They want so many pre-orders before they’ll make it
Assuming that's for older models?
EddieX it’s for the c7 and c7.5 RSNAV Screen. It’s an android tablet w/ Wireless car play and android auto.
www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/879901-RSNAV-Fundraiser-for-10-25-MMI-upgrade
My dad used to have an S7 and it had a middle seat 😊🤔
Older model did
Which one is better for a better dynamic drive: audi rs7 or bmw m6
Great video Eddie!
Thank you for this excellent review. Does it have much tyre noise?
Try the RS7 performance, carbon ceramic and no dust,no squeal. You get what you pay for.
Hey Eddie,
Did you take a look at the 2019 S7? Why did you choose to stick with the exiting models instead of waiting to see what the new RS7 will have as far as powertrain and performance?
Don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE this model and would buy one in a heartbeat if I had the money.
Went into a dealership today. Is the rs7 or s7 worth it with ceramic brakes? I sat in s5 nardo grey today. That grey looks great in person need advice.
Hi Eddie,
perhaps this is infra-dig to mention and you're already all over it, but in regard to that oil starvation from sludge risk issue.
Those rear center console lights are a killer
Grand coupe has the seat belt for the middle, you are just straddling the console. Not exactly ideal, but you can seat someone in the middle
I spend around 7k on new brakes and rotors when only have 33000KM, I hope my new f90 m5 will be better.
#1 It looks like the new Honda Accord
Nah more like the Honda Accord looks like the RS7.
The usb ports are a deal breaker. Worst thing to have is to loose power to your phone while youre navigating
Arthur
That's definitely not a sure thing.
The rs7 wheels are the best until since recently different car companies copy it...Those wheels have been here since 2013 ish
Honda Accord for example.
I got an RS6, now due to a brakes change, any resource for cheap genuine parts? thanks.
Eddie, why the hell does the accord jock our rs7s!! Lmaoo even the wheels! But hey, rs7 ftw!!
Does anyone else watch these videos whilst searching Ebay in the hope that one day you might just be able to afford one! 🙋♂️🤣
Cayenne GTS has the same brake noise, worse than a garbage truck lol. And the dealer said it still has quiet a bit life haha
And I don't think this would be a deal breaker for a family, because who would even consider an RS7 as a Family car, to begin with?
Fun dads
Rich ppl not broke
Great video. A bit confused with you focused on things you dislike or hate but haven’t happened to your particular vehicle. Not sure how you can hate something that hasn’t happened.
1:39 for no ads
thought you needed the performance if you added performance mods because the axle or trans cant handle more than the stock hp?
Great video Edd..i think u r one of da most sincere guys on RUclips...whn u do ur pull u laff like Parker tho..did u test drive a cls b4 buyin da rs7 pls n if u did wht did u nt like?
I wish it was more for taller people, one issue I realized was the blindspot when putting the seat down and back
I'm 6'3" and don't have any serious problems
@@EddieX I'm 6'5, and it was a bit hard for me, same with the gt63s, Germany needs to make cars for scandinavian people haha
@@porschet5898 dang I can see how that could become more difficult. Maybe the RSQ8 will be better haha
@@EddieX Yeah surprisingly the Rs3 fitted me more than any car I've been in, and the w220 s class
@@porschet5898 how in the world. Rs3?! I remember not being that comfortable in an S3
I would personally swap out comfort seats on the RS7.
ferodo ds2500 pads would probably be a better,do your research .what i put on my 380hp tt,perfect
EddieX thanks for the feedback man. Still I don’t think the urus should cost twice as much. Enjoy your rs7 man.
GMP Performance has a retrofit kit for the oil screen issue.
Real question is how long before it breaks??
Lmao my GTI has the same blade shape wheels that are so common and are on most cars so I had to change them out right away 😂
The A5 (S5 RS5) has the same rear seating arrangement.
I think middle seat can be configured on c7.5, not on c7 tho
You should get a ceramic coating done to your wheels! It is a lifesaver that keeps brake dust off - and you can clean the rest off just with a water hose. #LifeChanger
I don’t like Audi but I love watching your videos 🍸☀️
Thanks!
The 6 series gran coupe has actually 5 seats. I think it´s the only 4 door coupe that has that.
Damn thats a beautiful car, an the color sets it off 😍. Perfect purchase........ An the X on the window i peep. X squad
