I'm a Tour Edge player with an Exotics EXS 9.5 stiff shaft driver (which I bought in 2019) at 76 years old. I hit a long ball for my age. I got confused when you said you were changing the ball to a left dash Pro V1x. The 70 year old golfers I play with rarely use a pro ball, and I think one of the softer balls (mid price) makes sense for this senior age category. I've never played a left dash Titleist ball, but I'm very happy with XXIO's, Taylor Made Tour Response, Bridgestone e6, Srixon soft feel, Volvik vivid, even Wilson Staff. I hope others will post their experiences here for us to learn from.

I love Tour Edge, mainly for their life-time warranty. I have broken my driver twice and they have sent out a new shaft. Their Exotics irons are world class, best irons I have ever played with.

Over the last winter I changed my driver to one I could tweak to get perfect numbers. Having tried the Wilson and the Cleveland drivers, I got the PXG 0311 gen 5, but I got some aftermarket weights so I now have 2,5gr in the heel and toe and 5gr at the back making it as light and forgiving as possible for the highest swing speed. I increased the loft to 11degrees and also went to a 55gr stiff shaft rather than the 65gr I was gaming. I got my speed up from 81mph to 98mph. I now get a smash factor of about 1.41-1.47. My launch angle from 11 degrees up to 14 degrees, my spin down from 3300 to 2400, and gained almost 15yrds to around 230-240 carry. On a normal fairway I get another 15-20yrds of roll.
Anyway, my point is, getting a driver you can tweak, like the Exotics range, take to the range (or even better on the course), to get numbers can really improve your game.
If I were in the market for a new driver, I’d definitely try these Tour Edge Exotics.

I played a Tour Edge rental set while visiting the Buffalo Grove Golf Club (Chicago) just over a week ago. I normally play Callaway Paradym TD so was pretty skeptical but man I just did not miss with that driver. Butter cut to left center of the fairway all day. Consider me a fan. Did not do as well with the other clubs but that driver is a cheat code.

C725 is going to be my new gamer. Lucky enough to have done a fitting with Jessy James golf in Orlando, FL. Stock shaft options are high quality, but working with a top-ranked fitter allowed me to find a shaft/ball combo that dialed in spin rate and launch for my swing. Call Mike, Gage, or Christopher if you’re in Florida or can get there - it’s the best way to spend a day while the kids hit the amusement parks - and get yourself one of these Tour Edge drivers. The price point of the club means you can get the latest cutting edge tech, tour-proven quality, AND a tour-level fitting session for less than the Taylormade, Callaway, or Ping driver off the shelf. Jessy James may even have an aftermarket shaft in their bins, cast off from a tour player, that will get you out the door spending less than those but getting more yardage and more consistency out of your new Tour Edge 725 series driver. I’ve gamed fitted and custom shafted Callaway Epic, Taylor Stealth, and Ping G430 (in that order over the last few years) before going TE e723 last year and in 3 days, will be putting the c725 in the bag. My 51 year old, 95mph (approaching 100mph with proper warm up, inspiration, and medication) swing speed seems to be what Tour Edge targets with their tech, and I’d encourage anyone in a similar boat to check them out if they want to find a few more fairways and a few more yards. Jessy James will def have a Speeder, a Diamana, a Yonex Rexis red, and a Ventus blue, all stiff flex with TE tips, all from a certain not tour player, in their bins to try out 😂.

My last set of irons were c721s and I was really impressed with how they held up. They just did not ding or scratch very easily. Well made. I have also had 3 wood and hybrids, very good. This is by far their best ever looking driver in all black

I think you should go the less forgiving C725, change the rear weight to the toe, fiddle with the launch , then try the low spin model balls from all the top companies and Snell, Vice, etc.

Hello, I believe what you did with the prov1 left dash and adjustments is accurate. I game a tour edge ex10 - 12 degree head set at c- (upright 11 degrees) with a Newton motion shaft 4 dot. I am in your category of driving. I am 55. I think with higher lofted woods - I have a tour edge e725 4 and 7 wood + the left dash that I benefit. I am not so sure it works across my clubs as I game Honma 2020 forged twx or the 2021 tr21x. Great review. They are great products.

Creative review. Thanks. It hits on what many don't always think enough about. Ball fitting. Its a combination of club, swing and ball. Some launch it with less spin and need more. Others the opposite. Some ball launch higher or lower also.

    I'm 65,
    Love my T/Edge
still bag the old 3 wood HT Bazooka,
    65g R
    added an inch,
    jumbo grip,
can't seem to update it as it still gets me 225-240+m,
Might try 50g Stiff, if I can't squeeze a bit more out of the old girl.

How about this? Get a 10.5* head. Pair it with a stiffer shaft (the HZRDUS or the Denali Black they offer) and then maybe tweak the ball? Don't hit it as high but have the uber stability.

Got a set of C721 irons a few years ago. Absolutely love them. They make my Mavrik's look/feel/play like toys. And bonus, they are nearly indestructible. They clean up to almost new condition. Mavrik's? Only used them about 5 times and they are beat to hell, lol.

Matt, you are not an older golfer. I am 79. I am an older golfer. lol. I still hit it pretty good. Not as far of course, but got a great short game. My course is a par 35 nine holes. I shoot in the high 30's when I am playing. But sure could use a new driver. Mine is like 15 years old. Smaller head (like 420), regular shaft. Hit it about 230 to 250 (once in a while). Thinking a new one is in order.

Great job with this review! I’m a TE fan and currently gaming the C723 driver and have been looking forward to the 725 release. Your 103 mph swing speed should have produced 278+/- total distance so I was disappointed to see low ball speed with these new clubs. But great job on your part to suggest trying different balls! Overall you made my day by taking on this review and thanks to your preparation the data was awesome! Well done sir!

It seems like the biggest takeaway from this video is Pro V1 left dash is a longer golf ball than the other Pro V’s. But I think a lot of us already knew that.

I have the E723. I really wanted a ping, but they never went on sale. I got the 723 on sale when the 725 came out. I’m mid 30’s so I am not old. But my club head speed is kind of low. I currently get about 265yd drives. What I was super impressed with was the consistency. I can hit different places on the face and still get 260-265 and straight flights. Super super consistent.

    • @northwestrider369
      @northwestrider369 2 месяца назад

@@rtommo I got the E723. I got it in 9* and the adjustments go .5,1.0,1.5 from there. So I can go as high as 10.5 or as low as 7.5. But I still have it in standard 9. I did go +1” on length. I love it. I still don’t have the best swing and I have not really seen any distance compared to my longest drives. But I get more consistent drives. If I mis hit my old driver I could lose 20-30 yards. When I have mis hit this new one, I only see about 5 yards discrepancy.

About 10 years ago at age 65, I bought a Callaway Big Bertha driver with a Fujikura 747 R shaft. Good sound, feel, avg distance with good strike 220yds (small guy, short hitter). Fast forward 8 years to a Callaway Rogue Triple Diamond Tour Design AD R shaft, worst performing driver in my golf life (started age 12). I could not find the middle of that driver, 1 in 3 drives avg 180-200 yds. Age 74 replaced the Rogue with a Callaway Paradym AI Smoke Fast (for seniors) stock Mitsu shaft senior flex (al dente flex ;), senior grip, stock 4 gm weight in bottom. Result: the highest, most out of control draws and fades that would land about 230 yds out in the rough - unplayable in that spec. Age 75, Replaced the senior grip with a Winn mid-size, the shaft with a Mitsu K1 Carbon shaft ($350.), replaced the weight with a 14 gm from the Triple Diamond (the install tech erred and cut the length to 47") and Shazaam . . . drove it aprx 240 yards into a backyard I had never reached before! My provisional went down the middle 232 yds, 6 iron to 2 1/2 feet, par! First time in my life I got par after hitting it OB! Found out the SW was D8! Cut it down to 45.75 inches, D3 and now have the most consistent and long driver since becoming a senior. So, always check everything, especially shafts. BTW, I finally settled on a new ball, the 2024 Titleist AVX - the longest, best feeling, all around great ball for this senior.
