As soon as I heard it was only for series2, I had my answer. You're more informative than Microsoft.
I did it years ago, on my 'common' model - by inserting a piece of orange plastic sheat between the button and the led. Anyway, the default "blinding white" is outrageous, it was unbearable for anything else than playing in bright daylight - and I pull down the curtains in my windows whenever I play at such hours.
why would you think it is in first when it doesn't even have programmable rgb led in it

Awww. split sec thought it was for a normal xbox controller. love to have the color blue and hope someday that MS makes a blue Xbox Series X. that'd be nice. spend another $50 to do it too unless there is a 3rd party willing to do it well.

@@BinksBooze no it doesn’t I have multiple of each and they’ve been through hell and are perfectly fine and perform as new. They are overpriced tho and really aren’t worth it if you aren’t into speed gaming or just like the extra buttons
You can buy stickers if you want yours blue and if you don’t like stickers you could alway take the plastics off and spray paint them🤷♂️or buy new ones up to you

This is really cool and I'm glad they added this. But it's crazy to think Playstation has done this for years. The problem is we can't choose the color and the color mostly goes out of our field of view the other side of the controller with the Dualshock 4. And it's just a bit of color around the touch pad of the Duals Sense. So we just take it for granted. Forgot about it.
PlayStation could never do that they had 4 colours for each player

Thank god I bought the Elite Series 2. I never knew about this until I looked it up. The Elite Series 2 it’s only for $174 at Walmart. I love this controller cause I can customize the sticks.

What i don't understand is that the controller must be fitted with rgb led's for this to be possible,
Why didn't Microsoft allow this at launch of the elite 2
Only the Elite 2 was fit with RGB and the reason is probably software reasons it wasn't probably stable enough to be used as before this steam allowed you to do this
The Xbox S Controller is there a way to dim the brightness on the Xbox S Controller because by default it is so damn bright in a dark room? Thx!

I just got an elite 2 for Christmas and I customized the light with this video but I noticed that the button isn’t nearly as bright as shown in the video even though it’s at max brightness. I’m not sure if it’s just the camera making it appear brighter or maybe something is wrong with my controller
Oh hell yeah. My Alienware pc is white and black with red lighting, Alienware keyboard/mouse/headset also white and black with red lighting. Now, my white and black elite 2 controller matches my whole setup with red lighting . Just awesome

You have to choose a slot from the drop down slot menu.

Someone please help me out, I had my controller light dimmed down from years ago when I got the elite series 2. When they updated and added the color options it kept my controller on dim lighting and there is no way to revert it to a bright solid color. I can’t find a single thread or tutorial that explains or fixes my situation
Try this. Settings - Accessibility - Night Mode - Controller Brightness, then set it to default

It’s because you don’t have the correct controller. You need an Elite Series 2 controller.
Now how do you make the bumpers last more than 6 months?

Be sure you change the controller to the profile you edited. Also make sure the profile you edited is one of the 3 profiles that are the controller

@@guadalupe8589it's not just the LED although those damn things are pretty cheap but there's also a software configuration to control what color the LED will run
