@@dicodec Mary's Blood are also versatile like Nemophila, away from the Hard Rock & Metal, they also do a Punk style song, written by Rio the bassist called "High-5" also they can tone it right down with a ballad where Saki makes her guitar cry and Eye does a superb vocal, called "Infinite Love" a lot of videos have been taken down by MB because some idiots were uploading Official DVD clips from live performances, which is blatant use of copyrighted material. Luana Sea are one of the big names of early Visual Kei. Before Jill of Unlucky Morpheus Sugizo was probably the most famous violinist in Japanese Rock.

You guys need to check out the Luna Sea live performance from 5 years ago, lead guitar Sugizo is the thumbnail. You will understand the mike stand toss. Luna Sea is a major Rock/Metal is Japan up there with X Japan. There is a great X Japan performance with Sugizo as the lead guitar. Its Lunatic Fest. X Japan, 44 minutes though.
Great points about Mayu in this. I think this was a great way to do this. Its sort of a softer vocal but shows her ability basically to sing with such variety. As usual backed up by a ridiculous band. Ive listened to this a lot. haha
Mayu has a lot of "gritless" vocals in Life, but she goes back to it if she wants to put extra feelings into the lyrics. In my opinion the grit and raspy voice makes her super unique in the Japanese female metal scene. There are a lot of vocalists that sing clean all the time, there are also some who scream all the time and some can sing clean and scream. But there's no one (at least to my knowledge) who does both AND has this middle ground raspi-/gritti-ness like Mayu does. You should do Nemophila's cover of MTH's Shimi (シミ) if you really want to see/hear Mayu's versatility. I thought you'd be all over that, seeing as you like both bands ;). Their Zetsubou Billy cover is great, too, but I think Shimi is the overall best cover they (especially Mayu) have done so far.
When Mayu did Nao's part in Shimi I was a bit surprised. With how polished that technique was it has me wondering if it's something every female Japanese vocalist learns at some point.
@@ckiemnstr345 Yeah, that threw me for a loop, too. But to be honest, if I didn't know her beforehand and only heard this kind of vocals/techique, I wouldn't have been surprised. I'm pretty sure if she had some kind of vocal training in her earlier youth or some kind of Idol training (like almost all female Japanese in the entertainment business) she learned how to do the "kawaii" voice. Unfortunately almost every female Japanese Idol/celebrity is trained to act as cute as possible. Without acting or at least looking cute you don't really stand a chance as a female in Japanese entertainment (if you don't want to be a comedian). Or society in general for that matter.
@@ANDOR- Seems like that is changing though. What I refer to as neo trad idol groups the ladies get to sing with their normal voice instead of the kawaii voice if they so desire. Examples are Kolokol, Yuion, and Arcana Project. Then there is the entire alt idol scene where that is chucked out the window.
Rosier is one of my favorite songs from back in the day. I liked Nemophila's cover but it doesn't have that driving sense of desperation the original has. No knock against the ladies though, still a great performance. And I'm always down for more Mayu clean vocals!
instrumentally neomophila is doing great, it jus tat we miss Ryuichi's voice... thats Luna sea iconic sound. i would prefer Mayu goes fierce or more fried sound on vocal. (ignore the orginal singer style)
100% agree with you! I have a feeling we are around the same age haha. Have you seen sokoninaru's cover of Rosier? Thought that was really well done, and the slightly slower pace gave the singer more opportunities than usual to express himself.

FYI the 2nd ROSIER cover of LUNA SEA is HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR, when is officially in they album I don't know before NEMOPHILA covering this song was LUNA SEA song, all I know H&MC version

My 3rd favourite japanese band covering my favourite! What could go wrong? Absolutely nothing 😁 they did a great job. It would be great to have some Lunasea here they are legendary! (Maybe you tried but copyrights? I don’t see any reaction to them anywhere…) Rosier is from the album Mother you should check it it’s awesome and has one of my favourite song of all time: Genesis of Mind
Once again, Mayu sings in a totally different style. She is amazing. And a shoutout to Haraguchi-san for her vocals here. And Murata Tamu is my new favorite metal drummer. And Saki and Hazuki make every cover song better than the original.
Does anyone know if it’s possible to listen to all of NEMOPHILA’s amazing covers without watching RUclips, I’d really like a playlist to listen while out driving, (Spotify style). ????
Well only way i know how is with a pc and programs like Sound Tap that record what sound is going through your sound card and put it on your hard drive Also if you have YT premium you can play saved stuff when your off line . But and its a big but with out putting cash back into these bands (i have paid for and own The Nemo Cd's merch etc and help promote them ) its not morally correct i made a short play list for my MP3 for down my work shop where i dont have internet /Signal but i still run the play list on YT when i am working from home with the pc to help with there algorithms .Lots of us have asked Saki to do a best of covers CD so it might happen one day .
