I like this song not only cause it includes a male vocal along with Emi Evans (presumably) to sing it to make it sound and feel like Yuzuki and Hina are singing this song themselves but also. The vibes I get from this song is that not only are the two siblings of the Sun and the Moon putting their very lives on the line, but also their desires, hopes, prayers and wishes as well to live with their respective parent. This song feels like it’s their prayer as they battle each other to the death to reach their goal.
I love this take! The thought of Hina and Yuzuki singing this song together and in the process putting all that they are on their line is really moving, especially if you got the true ending. On that note, this makes me wonder who the two vocalists here are - it would be cool, I think, if the voice actors for Hina & Yuzuki themselves covered it womeday (as I doubt they are the ones singing it in the official recording).
I played as Hina first. Going from her story to Yuzuki's and finding out what their father had done felt like such a huge betrayal. When the game first mentioned that their mother had put strain on the marriage by racking up debt, I figured there would be another side of the story, but I hadn't thought it would be so much worse than what their mother did. Yet Hina never, ever acknowledges what their father did, never considers why their mother was glad to hear their father had died. I lost almost all sympathy for her the further I went through the story. So I chose to let Yuzuki win. But seeing her die wasn't satisfying. I didn't want to make the choice in the first place. I just felt this weird conflict of emotions Nier keeps leaving me with: relief the whole ordeal is over, and regret over what I did.
Yeah, it feels like even if they did horrible things they still care deep down. I didn't really understand how Hina couldn't see the abuse that was happening either. The only explanation to me could be the dad was manipulating her.
Hina took their abusive father’s side while Yuzuki their greedy mother’s side. Greed isn’t as bad as violence but what the children did was far worse. Going through Yuzuki’s side initially I was ready to punish Hina… but then they revealed what Yuzuki did. Hina killed their mom somewhat indirectly while Yuzuki did their father in with his own hands. Left to choose, I believed Yuzuki was more in the wrong… but one person has to kill and one has to die, so honestly I let Yuzuki die. Logistically, it would’ve been better to have Hina die so their father stays dead, but then that leaves Yuzuki with double murder on his hands. But that could be the same for Hina’s side, it’s just that I connected with Yuzuki slightly more. It’s very morally grey. There is no right answer, or even a right justification. These things should’ve never happened, but they did
I love how this whole arc was a culmination of the entirety of NieR as a series. The whole theme of how there will always be conflict born of misunderstanding between two different parties. Shadowlord and Nier both wanted their sister/daughter back, but due to a language barrier and the circumstances that lead both of them to their final fight, neither were willing to talk it out or even able to solve their problem. It was a sacrifice both parties were willing to make just to get their only family back- and unfortunately neither of them ended up winning. A2 and 9s were at one another's throats over an extreme misunderstanding. 9s thought that A2 murdered 2B out of malicious intent, when 2B wanted to die due to being inflicted with the Red Eye virus and barely being able to function. This created a ripple effect that lead 9s to find out that what he was fighting for never even existed in the first place, and that in his eyes nothing mattered anymore. He fell into a pit of despair and eventually went insane because of that. By the time he and A2 were able to face one another again, he wasn't even remotely interested in hearing her out. He wanted her dead, and she had to defend herself to put a stop to him. Both ended up dying because of it. Hina and Yusuke were destined to fight one another- as both were souls of the Sun and of the Moon. They were polar opposites, being mirror images of one another. Their family situation caused the two to become loyal to the parent they loved most, and when they felt slighted- the two both killed their own parents to get back at the other. They blamed one another on their suffering, and ended up taking themselves out as well. Reincarnation sets up the souls of the Sun and of the Moon as a way to explain why there will forever be conflict born of misunderstanding in our world- and that often times no one really tends to win as a result of that conflict. Mirror images who don't understand one another, and end up causing the downfall of one another due to that.
DUDE When this came up and I realize there were now two voices, HIna's and Yuzuki's, I teared up instantly. Instant chills, instant feels. I thought I wouldn't like this season as much as I did with season 1', but it ended up becoming my favorite
@@PuhHunter Hell, I kinda thought the shot of Hina and Yuzuki standing in front of the sun/moon altar sorta mirrors 9S and A2 facing each other at the top of the Tower, but that probably wasn't intentional.
The more I listen to this the more convinced I am that Hina’s and Yuzuki’s seiyuu are the ones singing it…even if it’s not the case, I don’t mind. I love how gently both vocalists sing their lines. Seriously, putting them together is just so wonderful! A beautiful finale for a fantastic arc!
Thank you for sharing this song! Aaah, it's really beautiful, the choice of having female and male main vocalists was beyond perfect: even with the ding beinh in chaos language, anyone can tell its the theme song of the siblings, that's what makes a really good theme, when you can inmediately tell for whom is it for ✨ Also, while at normla speed it's perfect, for a more wonderfully melancholic experience, i find slowing the speed down to 0.75 😸
Nier Reinc was great from beginning to end but this arc was absolute prak, without taking any merit from first and second at all, no sir. This story was great
Can i know the Story of Nier: Reincarnation is?? I always want to play and experience the Story but... I am not playing again because i didn't like the gameplay at all. So if someone can explain it that awesome. Tysm 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Weak argument. The story cant be experienced solely by reading it. There is a reason why the story related combat is extremely easy, and why there is an auto function. You literally don't have to ''play'' to experience the story how it should be.
@@oKenshinHimura I do encourage people to play the game when they can, but there are some people without access to the tech. There are different aspects of the game for people to appreciate. Many other channels focus on the meta of gameplay and party setups too. Some day, this game won't be available to play anymore either. This is why I appreciate having so many channels uploading content about this game.

The female vocalist here should be Yukino Orita (definitely not Emi Evans), she also sang this same leitmotif in Sun+Moon's opening cinematic.

The father was abusive because she was racking up debt, it was an impossible situation that they both were to blame for.

It's rare to see a twist ending actually improve something, but they pulled it off very well!
The battle between the sun and moon has always existed from the start, like Zero and the black flower or Nier and Shadow Lord or even Fio and Lavinia.
White, Black, and Red are huge reoccurring color motifs as well.( The 3 main dragons, the 3 grimoires, etc)
you forgot 9S and A2
Also the world that's now divided into a part that's stuck in day and another in night
